"Never trust a big butt and smile." Poison Thread

Or as a win pose.

Either way, I’m curious to see if she can put Juri’s taunts to shame.

I blame it all on excitement and enthusiasm for the character :stuck_out_tongue:

#Get Hype

We’re talking 'bout Capcom here. I’m not afraid in the slightest when it comes to that :3

These would be cool…

Can’t guarantee immunity from sudden blood pressure changes <3

You know, Cammy is fine, but her butt got nothing on Poison’s. I bet if she would do the winpose of the second picture Cammy would be very jealous. :3

She will probably be able to FADC her DP right?
That would really give her a good wake up option.

Doesn’t Poison currently have a similar win pose where she even Points to the “junk in her trunk”? LOL

It’s the one where she says “i’m not just hotter than you, I also just kicked your ass” and she points with her whip to her ass when she says “ass”.

You are right, I guess I forgot because I barely see a Poison player in SFxT and I didn’t use her often. I might play this game again and use a Poison team to get hype for USF4. xD

I love how people are still arguing about her gender in the comments of each youtube video. /facepalm

Oh and every time I see Poison’s model in the game, I’m always surprised what a good job they did. Look at the last few seconds in the vid, where she is standing next to Nina. Compare her face to Nina’s. :o
Such a big difference.

LOL as low tier as Poison is in SFxT there have been a lot of times where I annihilate my opponents with her alone!! Perhaps its unfamiliarity to the character? But even my friends complain :stuck_out_tongue:

Poison’s basic metagame strategy is essentially trying to score a knock down and keeping your opponent down. after the 2013 patch she was sorta nerfed because her fireball didn’t build up meter unless it connected - so scoring a safe knock down and getting in on your opponent became more difficult. Try using LMT to try get in… its difficult to react to from full screen as your opponent very rarely sees it coming (as a normal jump doesn’t cover as much distance as HK LMT… also LMT gives poison frame advantage).

Poison is a lot of fun to play:

After scoring a knock down Poison’s pressure game really shines. You then fire off a heavy fireball close to your opponent, if they block standing you go into crouching MK into rekkas (they get knocked down). If they block low you move slightly forward after the fireball and do her overhead. you can then mix it up… also through out a fireball, as they wake up they will in all probability try block the fireball (dash behind the fireball - it should fade just as Poison dashes in or they block it) and go for a throw - they very rarely see the throw coming. If they try and roll out of Poison’s pressure try and bait a roll by throwing out the HP fireball a little early, if they roll immediately do Cr.MK into rekkas or throw them out there roll… essentially keeping them Pinned to the ground where Poison can have her way :stuck_out_tongue:

in a nutshell:
Knockdown > HP Fireball then from a HP Fireball >
> Cr.mk OR
> overhead OR
> dash behind fireball and throw

obviously you can substitute rekkas with EX rekkas for more comboability… people often forget the 4th hit on Poison’s EX Rekkas, this 4th hit launches and from there you can go into close standing HP as soon as they begin to land from being launched (i.e. wait until they are around Poison’s head and then hit HP) from cl.HP you can either go into HK KBG (flings them across the screen) or LK LMT + follow up (LMT does slightly (ever so slightly) more damage and gives you a hard knockdown to continue pressure). OR from EX Rekkas you can do Cr.MK into super.

if they are close to the corner (and believe me EX Rekkas carries them to the corner pretty well) you can do Cl. MP (hits twice), Cl.MP (hits twice), LK LMT.

in a nutshell:
EX rekkas (4th hit launches)>
>cl.HP, HK KBG
>cl.HP, LK LMT
>cr.MK, super
>(corner) Cl.MP (hits twice), Cl.MP (hits twice), LK LMT.

Poison Benefits with Meter building gems…
my gem setup:

Onslaught Lv.3 (connect with 2 EX special moves): Cross Gauge acquisition rate +60%
Motivation Lv.3 (connect with 3 EX special moves): Cross Gauge instant restoration +400
Motivation Lv. 2( Connect with a combo over 10 hits): Cross Gauge instant restoration +300

Poison very rarely gets a combo over 10 hits, which means I can effectively choose when to activate the last gem. the first two gems act in unison (remember EX rekkas is considered 4 EX special moves - so effectively by using 1 bar I can almost get another 2 bars of meter… so I almost ALWAYS have 2 bars of meter to follow up with Cr.MK into super… after Poison does her super she essentially ends up with another meter, since the Super will increase the combo to well over 10 hits). Believe me Poison can be scary with meter  essentially this setup almost always ensures that Poison has meter.

Poison’s game is a lot of fun… I really enjoy it. With all the mind games I have Perfected a lot of people with Poison alone - you literally do not give them a chance to get up!!

When it gets too scary for Poison, she doesn’t like doing the dirty work thats when she tags in her partner (hugo)… she likes to think she is in control but when it goes wrong, it can go very wrong and she likes to hide behind the big brute :stuck_out_tongue:

For some reason I still feel terrible about motivation gems existing…=(

waits for GamersCon Trailer :coffee:

I think Gems actually add a really exciting element to the game… they are really strategic in a way (similar to choosing which ultra you think be best suited for a particular match). Gems add an element of versatility, despite people hating on them… you can strengthen your characters weaknesses or bolster their strengths (it almost adds to the uniqueness of how you play a character).

anyways on a side note: http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2013/jul/29/new-street-fighter-x-tekken-dlc-adds-4th-gem-slot-spotted-playstation-store/

now we can make Pink haired Princess even better :stuck_out_tongue:

Also according to post #97 (blackerthancoal) on the article as cited above: “on another note, a commentator in the evo 2013 sfxt pools said capcom had something planned for sfxt down the road still. he said it was not big but could potentially be important because it would gauge interest in further game updates or something like that. is this gem slot an indication of that?”

Could SFxT be the platform whereby Capcom tests the waters for a free to play game similar to Tekken Revolution? I would like more content - Add the remaining cast in SF4 - Zafina and Rose!!!

I would also like Ingrid- heck she literally gave everyone the power of pandora according to the story!!

I know that gems in general were fine, but the motivation gems were just too much imo… Especially after watching some of Jibbo’s streams. 1 dp often times lead to full meter.

I like Zafina, so I would be all about this…if my interest in SFxT wasn’t going down the tubes more and more by the day. Thought if they give her away as a free update to test the waters for a F2P game, I’m sold!

Mmmmm…QueenRiot…

poison was good in SfxT to a degree. She could create corner combos mid screen with her fireball and ect.

Her only real drawbacks were combo damage and team synergy, which are unfortunately the most important things in SFxT. And even then, the team synergy thing was only an issue in the way the game ended up being played with long swag tag combos being the norm. It was pretty apparent that she was designed as more of a utility character than anything, being able to build meter, control space, and apply pressure expertly in order to give high damage characters with more minimal tools in that regard (Hugo specifically) a way in to do their thing. But that gameplan went by the wayside when the big damage grapplers like Hugo got nerfed into the ground and it became easier to just try to score a hit with a team like Hwoarang/Chun and combo for days.

Really, the flaws with Poison in SFxT were more a fault of the game than the character.

Can’t wait to see what Poison can do after knockdown in a game that doesn’t have wake up rolls!

Also, where can I find this shirt?! I’ve been looking forever…

Hmmm how do I turn this into a shirt? I don’t know if I am aware of places that will make you a single T-shirt…

Last I checked, Kinkos will do it.

Though I guess you might want to consider the fact that “trap” is not exactly a word enjoyed by a lot of people in the transgender community, so don’t be surprised if not everyone’s happy with your shirt.

You don’t. You order it here:

They also have this (which I prefer anyway):
