The anti air grab blows up the chicken blocking method. I chicken block a lot and Spencer blows me up for it with is AA grab into combo. Match is brutal.

Yeah that’s why i think we need more frame data about Spencer. hitbox and frame data for the zipline command dash (recovery, advantage on block, etc), and how it reacts to chicken blocks, TK grabs, etc so that we can develop actual ways to punish efficiently all his things. I think the zipline hitbox is even punishable on hit, and Thor punishes equal TODs unlike the much of the other characters (with no XF of course).

The ground version is always negative on block. The farther away he is when he does it, the worse the frame advantage.

Thor’s damage is good, but it’s not quite as good as Spencer’s, lol.

Saitsuofleaves asked me over XBL to post the Thor TAC combo Abegen did on stream, seeing if you guys knew if Thor could possibly combo any character with the up TAC variant:

With up TAC you can dash down h.spark, m.spark, M, m.spark, S

I’m not sure if it works on every character but otherwise you can just S after the first m.spark for consistency

is this possible midscreen?

No it’s not possible midscreen but he can loop fully charged Mighty Strikes Midscreen and off Side exchanges.

The TAC combo works for up and down exchanges. You can actually add a little bit more damage too. sj.:m:x2, sj.:h:xx:qcf::m:, sj.:m:xx:qcf::m:, adu, sj.:l:, sj.:m:x2xx:qcf::m:, sj.:s: also works.

All this TAC stuff is making me think I should change my team around from Thor/Wesker/Doom to Wesker/Thor/Doom. I have found that you can modify the combo to use it midscreen with TAC in all directions by doing sj.:m:x2xx:qcf::m:, aduf, sj.:l:x2, sj.:m:xx:qcf::m: but after that you have to finish with super tornado (I couldn’t finish with the sj.:s: unfortunately)

Just to add something to this whole TAC thing, there is now A LOT of synergy between Thor and Firebrand. Firebrand has easy hitconfirms and easy corner carry (von boyage), his downside is low damage output. Thor can use his TAC (up, down, side) and kill whatever character while charging a lot of bar, and Firebrand has that OTG assist to follow up. It helps that Mighty Spark M (assist) let FB do the unblockable, and also contributes in his fireball zoning game.

thanks a lot for sharing that, definitely something I’m gonna try for myself. If I may ask, what are your side exchange combos? Are there any ways for Thor to switch back sides after a side exchange?

I made a new video showing the extension Duck Strong mentioned, along with two variations allowing the TAC to hit both Raccoon and Shuma.

Also, while I have this time, I’d like to extend apologies to the entire Thor channel. I didn’t do my job during Vanilla of updating threads and I let everyone down, and then like usual I acted like an asshole to plenty of people, Duck Strong included, when it showed how much more knowledgeable and just better everyone else was. I apologize for my behavior, and would like to help in any capacity required of me.

You know guys, there is yet one piece of Thor tech that i think no one is using (not talking about guard break setups), and its TK Mighty Strike L. The advantages of TK M.strike L over the grounded version are:

  1. Faster startup, for both the uncharged and fully charged versions. Guide says that both the air and grounded versions have startup of 20-31 (uncharged-fully charged), but in training mode it feels faster for the TK version (maybe because the startup is shorter when Thor is right next to the ground?). You guys should check this out and see if i’m right.
  2. Advantage on block. According to the guide, the grounded version is -18 on block, and -7 on block when fully charged. The air M.Strike L is +2 on block, and the charged one is +14 on block. That’s a huge difference.

Of course, this is probably the most “execution heavy” tool that Thor has, but i think it’s worth learning, or at least worth checking out.

Well from the top Thor players (Abegen, Royalflush, Cam(?), etc) i have yet to see it in a real fight. Same goes for Guard Breaks. Or maybe i was not paying attention >_>

Both Abegen and Flush don’t have any true neutral assists. Doing TK L Strikes without help will get Thor clipped more often than not.

I really love ending combos with Mjölnir’s might, Mjölnir’s might, Mighty Spark xx Tornado. Really great for DHC’s, looks cool, and does a ton of damage. I know pretty much every OTG assist allows for that, and Cold Star and Tenderizer allow for it in the corner after a H Mighty Smash. Are there any other assists that can do it?

I was hoping that was true. When I tried it, the blast juggled the opponent away from me so my Strike missed. What kinda timing do you need for it?
