I mute the game and put this playlist on

It’s not even like that. There is a consistent input delay of maybe 1 or 2 frames, like GGPO, which means you can still AA consistently etc. If you guys are getting rollbacks constantly, that’s your problem – capcom can’t make up for the fact that you live far away from who you’re playing, or play far away from your router on wireless, etc. If the game’s netcode besides the rollback was bad, nobody would be in this topic saying that they’re having any good games with people any distance away.
What you’re asking for is impossible with the current USA infrastructure. It’s asinine to even think that they just threw rollback in and called it a day, there is definitely some input delay. Newsflash: some input delay with rollback implemented is exactly what the best netcode ever created for fighting games uses.
it looks like you’re agreeing with me, only your standards are lower than mine. What you describe to me is a poor netcode. Of course I have played sfiv a lot in europe too, and the connection can be good enough to play pretty well but it’s not until I play offline that I notice what a difference a few frames can make when you try to react to things quickly. Of course if you have a passive play style or you play on autopilot like lots of blanka players do for example then you won’t really notice.

godlike article from the author of RollCaster (a rollback netplay implementation for some doujin fighters)
Capcom is full of shit or downright incompetent at this point…
- GGPO is not being used in SFxT
- Capcom is using their own bootleg unrefined version of GGPO
- The sound glitch is because of the game trying to stay in synch. Capcom’s fake ggpo obviously wasn’t worked on as long as the real ggpo. Also, the sound bugs also happen in GGPO but ONLY IN HIGH LATENCY SITUATIONS. When i play people in europe or across the country here in the US i don’t get massive rollbacks or any sound bugs on ggpo.
- Sound glitch > laggy sf4.
Get this man to Capcom!
Ummmmm in the crazy amount of matches Ive played Ive really never experienced skips, or rollbacks… soo you guys blaiming capcom, should rather blame your isp. Cuz this game works perfect for me, most of my matches are smooth as butter. And no Im not jus talkin inpur delay. So yeah you guys should stop pointing the finger at Capcom for your router failures.
I think I need to make a new thread about the sound glitch. The netcode for game play is good, but the sound glitch should be unacceptable. If this game were made by anyone other than Capcom the FGC would be railing against it. Imagine if COD, Madden, or Gears 3 had delayed/dropped sound effects and music.
I only experience the sound issues if I’m playing someone with high or spiky latency. 5 bars doesn’t necessarily mean your opponent has a good connection, especially if they get latency spikes. In high latency situations I’d much rather have occasional rollbacks than be completely unable to play because of input delay.
People wanted a rollback system, Capcom atleast tried to deliver. They did a good job on it except for the sound issues which honestly isn’t even a problem unless you or opponent has a terrible connection, which in that case, your matches would be unplayable on SF4’s netcode anyways.
If they can fix the sound, then great, everyone can be happy. But I’ll be so damn pissed if they revert it back to the old net code because some idiots who value sound more than actual game play continue complaining.
It’s frame dropping. It also happens on every stream I watch as well so it’s clearly not just me although I’ve seen uploads where it doesn’t happen so w/e.
Just because you don’t experience the issue doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist for others. My friends see the same thing and have dropped online completely until a patch is issued.
Capcom is incompetent because they made the best fighting game in years and the online wasn’t perfect.
Please people stop defending this netcode it has now been officially tested that this game runs at a constant 50MS INPUT LAG compared to offline. Most europeans and japeneese players will be playing street fighter 4 at less than 30ms so the idea that this is better because it has lower input lag in discracefull.
Yes this street fighter x tekken does perform better over large distances and with poor connections because it retains a constant 50ms input lag. BUT for anyone that is just wanting to play friends online or ranked matches from the same country street fighter 4 net code is by far the better option period.
That is without taking in to account the fact that even on the most stable of low latency lines street fighter x tekken is still unstable.
Is it just me or does it feel like the host has priority when attacking. When something should trade the host’s attack just out right beats it online, as if your attack never came out. Every lobby I join the host is going on a huge win streak and no one can come close to beating them.
I live in Pakistan… we had no problem with the online play in SF4 and UMVC3 … i cud punish everything on reaction but this netcode is simply shitt… garbage… im not talkin abt sound, the amount of frame skips, delay really screws up the match… i dont knw why ppl are defending this piece of crap… i was able to play with ppl from UAE and KSA but now i cant even think abt it…
and even my frnds for UAE and KSA are complaining abt this… and almost all of them have gone back to either SSF4 AE, UMVC3 or SCV …
if the ppl USA aren’t having this problem doesnt this exists… there is a prob and crapcom shud fix this…
50ms is about 2 frames. Since this is constant, its still wayyyyyy better than SF4 with its variable input lag thats much much worse than 2 frames.
And if you played SF4 on PS3, even offline it was running with 2 frames built in input lag lol.
THIS is what I want to hear. I’m not being unreasonable, am I?
Lol…Where did you get that? link please.
It’s a joke. Come on man, it’s not rocket science.
YOu dont count you play ryu
I never played Ryu seriously before this game. Who knows, I will probably switch.
