Netcode Hitting 360 Soon!

give the ability to kick people from the lobby

That, and…(I’m gonna cap this for significance)

Ahem…USE GGPO OR AT LEAST AMERICAN NETCODE/NETCODE DEVELOPERS. They understand the fact that America’s net is more widely dispersed rather than Japan’s hyper-concentrated net. They have experience coding appropriately. Using Japanese netcode for an american release is pretty much a very dumb move. Using a good american code is good for american/european releases, and since Japan’s net is so tightly banded, japanese players won’t have ANY problems with it. (This is also going on the Facebook page)The LAST thing we need is tweaked japanese code, optimized for THEIR damn-near Intranet.

I have no idea why I didn’t compose this sooner…

Fingers crossed for GGPO caliber netcode, have doubts though :frowning:

Just a small nitpick though.
It could do without the loading after each win, even if it’s just a sec or 2 :wgrin:

Am I the only one that ever lags on GGPO.

EDIT: And what the guy said above me.

The sad thing is, if you read the thread about the interview with the guy from Ignition, he basically flat out said that SNK doesn’t give a shit about american players and what kind of netcode we need to work on. Well, he actually said “These japanese people care for the japanese market and japanese gamers” or something along those lines.

So basically, we have an ice cubes chance in hell of getting this fully solved, which if fine by me, the game is still fun even in the lag; but I personally, have given up hope on SNK. (Though Ignition is bad ass for fighting for us)

And it’s Ignition’s job as publisher to make them see the light. If Aksys worked like Ignition and just said, “oh, ok, we’ll just release whatever you give us” then BlazBlue wouldn’t have received the quality online treatment it did.

Actually it DID, as it released a crappy online netcode, that was immediately patched and fixed later.

Ignition worked fast to get a patch, which …well did nothing, and they’re still fighting.

Ignition is awesome, but SNK has failed us.

I think that Ignition has to choke a bitch “SNK” in this instance. They need to put more then pressure and threaten SNK on this. Nothing like losing a publisher to destroy a company. I mean seriously

I’ve heard even the Japanese are complaining about the netcode though, so SNK may do something. The Japanese did get to play BB after all- and saw they could play Americans in it, and some even got STHD despite it not being officially released.

I cant lie, these last couple of nights have been pretty good for me too

this would be nice

Here’s just a smidge of shameless self-promotion…but if you haven’t seen the interview with Shane Bettenhausen about KOFXII, read it now:

http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=202656

As for the rest, they’re unlikely to totally tear down the netcode and replace it with GGPO. That’d take a hella long time and be very expensive. There are a lot of ways they could tweak and massage the current setup to make it better.

You and some Mexicans.

I’d settle for any improvements right now and save GGPO for KOFXIII and 2k2UM.

or you could just stop acting like you are 13 and quit trolling

OMG yes. Everytime I do give this game a chance online some red bar scrub joins the only available slot in my room and just SITS there. Ugh.

Yea I don’t blame ignition at all. From the sound of it they’ve been trying hard to get SNKP off their ass and make this game workable online. I really want to see this at EVO but I don’t think it has a chance with the current state of the netcode.

Nah, it has a chance. Since when has crap netcode kept a game out of Evo? I know at least regionally, in the typical SNK hotspots, the game is going to get serious play.

I wouldn’t be shocked if this game replaces 3s. It has one huge advantage- it’s on PS3, and has been well received. They throw 3s out , all Evo has to have is PS3s, that makes things a lot simpler.

^ We just need huge attendance at Final Round in March. Then we’ll be in a better position to opt the game into EVO’s roster.

3s, cvs2 and mvc2 (until now) dont have netcode and they are at evo, seriously people, saying that the netcode determinates what game is on evo is dumb, yeah i know that the netcode would help the community grown, yet it doesnt determinates the succes, is the community, i know that its a little naive, yet im sick of hearing people saying that the game wouldnt be at evo, only cuz the netcode, if you want competition go seek it for yourselg, i did some tournaments of varios fighting games when i was in the university, you can do the same, work with some friends, try to form a local community for the game

I’m not explaining the whole “play with your friends and make local tourneys” thing again. Look at my previous posts in this thread.

Oh and 3s and cvs2 have been playable online for quite a while. Also, KOF12 doesn’t have the arcade following those three games had so it’s going to be pretty reliant on online play to gather a following.

Tanner speaks the truth.

On topic, short of “Hey gais, GGPO netcode coming your way!” being the announcement, this game is doomed outside of Japan (and judging from arcade revenues, it might be over already there, too).
