This pretty much confirms i’m not buying it until it drops in price, which shouldn’t take too long.
I’m hearing reports that 4 bar connections are blazblue / sitting next to you / motherfucker you’re at the arcade good.
Yeah, 4 bar connections are amazing… But anything below is not very fun. I love the game, so I hope more people who have good connections start coming online.
Despite my constant finding of 2 bar connections, it’s not unplayable bad. It’s actually a lot better than I expected. I’m not having any trouble doing combos, it requires a lot of timing, however. I don’t think I’m getting people near me at all. I have a friend on the east coast that we played before he went to work and it never dropped below 3/4 and it was incredibly smooth and amazing.
I guess I need to find more east coast US players.
Played someone, 3 bars, was meh. Better than MVC3, but worse than SF4/BB. Will play more people, hoping that some of my friends are 4/5 bars with me and hopefully that will go well.
Also, a little note (at least on the 360 version) I’ve played Ranked matches now, and I have not had a single one that was laggy at all. It’s actually messing me up a little because I could get away with Terry’s burn knuckle and now I’m getting screwed because I forgot how unsafe on block it was. So if people are experiencing lag, try ranked?
Played 2 sets so far
Played someone from MD with 2 or 3 bars and it was pretty terrible (I think he just had terrible internet though)
After that I played gl0ry (;0) and I’m pretty sure it was had 4 bars and it was a million times better
I’m on 12 mb Down/1.5 mb Up and wired. It plays terrible. The slow is consistent but I can’t even time the things I want to do when I think it. 3-4 bars are acceptable but they’re almost impossible to find.
It’s unplayable, to say the least. It’s honestly quite shameful after the netcode got all hyped up and all.
I’m thinking in-state games probably play decent.
I had 2 matches w/2 bar players. Playable - not the best, but not horrible. I had trouble finding matches though.
Maybe you guys should try going to Dream Cancel and checking out their XBOX tag list (or PSN ID). Find some people close to you and add them.
I’ve done a few player matches, one ranked match, and a few matches with people from my friends list. In all of that, I have only ran into one lower-than-3-bars game.
You can always not start a match if you see that it is 2-bars. No one is forcing you to play people with bad connections.
EDIT: Make sure and mention what system you are on when reporting your findings in this thread. It’s also important to note your download and upload speeds, plus whether or not you are wired.
In Europe I didn’t read once a bad feedback about the netcode, even cross country (uk-france).
Free XBOX LIVE GOLD Weekend starting on Thursday. I’ll be happy to Netcode test some stuff out. AT&T U-Verse 18MB Tier. Actual measured speeds: 32 ping, 17.98MB Down, 1.47MB Up. XBOX 360 Slim hardwired directly to a 2WIRE 3800HGV-B “Residential Gateway” aka “router”. Eff…maybe I should go back up to the 24MB Tier so I can get the better upload speed.
New York to Chicago, Cable wired to WI-Fi on PS3:
Pretty bad. Slow clunky… just… wow. At least its better than 12.
We went to Ultimate and like magic the problems were gone.
I hate to ask this, but did you try the game offline first? It is a slower and clunkier game than Ultimate to begin with.
I figured the net play would be pretty bad(I happily all the SNK fighters on XBLA and XII) but I still can’t wait to test this out myself. Going by online reviews and forum reviews is the worse possible thing you can do. Wifi? Anyone bringing that up should be shot. PS3 online? Like…why would you do that to yourself? Serious question btw.
XTG : I get this in the mail the first week of December, will be on SexBox 360 with a WIRED CONNECTION, so we can see how WA-to-TX holds up.
Femto: Awesome. I can’t wait. I really wish I could get FIOS, but since I don’t live slightly beyond Houston City Limits, my choices are Xfinity and AT&T U-Verse, although I will make the change to Xfinity once I make enough spare cash for a brand new N-Router (and a DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem) at the very least. 50MB Down and 20MB(?) Upload sounds too good, and for only roughly $30 more than what I paying for the U-Verse 24MB Tier.
I see I need to make another Netcode Guide…
If you’re on WiFi it better be Wireless N and over 10MBs Down otherwise your bitching is null and void, period.
The netcode is decent, it’s not setting any standards nor are you throwing money away like XII.
This really is the first “Middle Ground” game when it comes to netcode lol - a patch can it to SF4/BB tier I feel.
I played on your WiFi against Spooty and I was largely satisfied with the online experience, so folks need to make things are proper and optimal for online gaming.
Keep in mind I have WiFi N and 20/5 also the router is a whopping not even 50 ft from the 360 i.e. WiFi done RIGHT.
