Net code discussion. Rollback confirmed!

You can do the same in Xbox One. I’ve experienced it with Diablo 3 RoS.

We’ve all been asking for this since the beginning. I think there’s a simple reason why and that’s because they want to keep the visual fidelity of the game intact as much as possible. STxT was their initial experiment where the input delay was set to 0 or 1, and then later adjusted to 3-4 after the first patch.

This. I fully agree. Consistent input lag is always better than a variable one. The sacrifice is that in offline games SFV has more input lag than USFIV did, but the overall experience is better.

The input lag is horrendous don’t delude yourself. Capcom’s Vsynch is trash just like their SF5 release. I went into the game files and manually turned off their $hit Vsynch last night and the difference is immediately noticeable. Sure the game still has the highest input lag of this generation & isn’t good, but inputs come out way faster and feel about twice as responsive. If you can’t feel the input lag you’re just a scrub that hasn’t played any actual decent fighters at an above average level, ever. When the game was released I could feel how laggy and delayed the inputs were and asked my friends about it and why it’s so bad, nobody had answers. I am not use to such low quality games so SF5 has been an unfortunate experience and a bad purchase. Removing Vysnch helped a lot, but the netcode is still trash and the game isn’t even close to being good or complete so i’ve still dropped it. Sony SF’s ports/Versions have always had horrendous input lag and been inferior ports with many issues, this is just the very worst example and the lowest quality SF game they’ve ever released on a PS platform, or PC. No wonder the sales are terrible and the admins here canned the thread for damage control despite the Digital sales ranks being released by sony themselves and all worldwide steam sales reported.

You will always decrease input lag if you remove v-sync (and get screen tearing), but since the tournament version uses v-sync why would you do that? You want the game to feel consistent and your timings to be as close as possible when you play it offline, online and in a tournament.

Do you have v-sync on? I have it off and the game feels like it has a few more frames of input lag than 3SOE on PS3, which has 4 frames. 6 frames with v-sync off sounds accurate, so I’m guessing 9 with it on is accurate as well, unless it affects different systems in different ways.

“…infinitely better” - SRK. No other opinions matter. Only facts.

Maybe the supporters of SFV netcode here can go tell him to shut up and that his opinions don’t matter, and that he needs facts.

Sf5 netcode is way better.

It’s just that sf4 netcode was that bad that when you compare it (a pile of shit) to something else (a rotting Apple) well the apple wins, even though it’s rotten.

Comparing sf4 netcode to sf5 NetCode is ridiculous, frankly.

Sf4 played absolutely nothin like offline even in good connections which were rare.
Sf5 plays more like offline in at least half the connections I play.

“Good” connections in sf4 for me were like 1 in 200. And that’s across 3 different places that I lived in 3 different times and 3 different ISPs.

I’m either in the consideration if this is due to the ranking system relevance, regional relevance (it might be in equal relation with ranking system relevance), or packet acceptance to the servers itself.

For me, in comparison to SFIV, 2 Texas players I played with now have rollback on my end for Street Fighter V, yet it doesn’t show it on their end. In SFIV, the games we played were overall satisfactory.

In SFxT, I think the earlier games of ranked were generally okay minus the sound issues from the first patch. Later at higher ranks, it was an absolute mess similar to SFV. Endless might of played out better, but I can’t say much about it since I barely played Endless in that game (lifespan was bad).

In SFV, it’s almost similar to SFxT, but much worse. Ranking is just dubious. Some matches would be good, but then most of them are not. During the beta, I actually had more consistent results than I did with the final release. The rollback is especially more prominent when reaching 4K region or higher in ranks… it’s unbearable.

This is someone coming from Mississippi though, and there might be a margin of error due to the region I’m at, or other situations that I’m not aware of. I will say though that the “one-sided” problem is definitely inexcusable imo, and I hope that’s fixed… which I doubt it.

@Dime_x you are in Australia right? Which is weird because I don’t know if the community is “big” in quantity. I need better insight in how matchmaking is over there.

As a fellow Australian, the NetCode is decent, it’s the matchmaking that’s a problem. I made Gold in about a weeks worth of play, but very rarely do I play anyone that’s above that or similar. There are big chunks of waiting on a game, I even tried setting it to 2 bar quality to see what would happen.

I’m pretty much done with complaining, or really interacting on the forum. The only way this gets better for me is in the March patch.

I’ve been hearing “it’ll get better” for too long now. We really shouldn’t be still playing a beta over a month after release. I don’t care if it’s the greatest fucking fighter on earth or not.

Just hit me up sometime, we can play.

For sure, but that’s what annoys me too. I shouldn’t have to hit mates up to play an online game, not a brand new “big name”. I should be able to log on, hit battlelounge and play 30 games with lots of different people ( or even the same ones). Get lots of experience against multiple characters and go into my next session just that little bit better.

Without exaggeration, my game rate on SF5 ( brand new) is no better than my game rate on SF4 ( 8 years old). All because for some reason, they couldn’t put a country flag in the battlelounge.

That’s another reason I think the online isn’t enjoyable, you can’t get any type of meaningful sets with the cast, your match up knowledge is gathered from tiny fragments of games over a big time span. There’s only so much “record action” - counter action a man can take before he opens a bottle of Jack Daniels…

Sheeeet, I’m tipsy over here as we speak, had some jack last night. Now I’m just drinking it up in casuals with Laura.

God Laura sucks BTW. I thought she was good… I was wrong :frowning:

so why are we grinding survival for colors? let’s modify save files.

quoting a comment from news section.

“I just used a trainer and set it to one hit ko. It was tedious and boring but all colors are mine now. FK you Capcom and this mode, no way it should be this hard to unlock colors.”

I dont have a trainer software in ps4. I wont go through trouble. If I had the pc version though, I would do the same more easily with a trainer. that’s the difference.

So is your problem with people who cheat vs the AI or “cheating software just to piss you off and laugh at your nerd rage. macros, aimbots, map hacks etc. its even easier to rage quit ffs.”?
Your posts seem very at odds with each other.

stop acting like a smartass please.

You get my point well, which is “it is easier to cheat on pc”. Yet you act like you don’t get it. Your personal experiences with console cheaters during your glorious 10 years console gaming history does not prove me wrong. Played both versions of sf4. Pc version was the most problematic.

I don’t care what people do as long as they don’t cheat when playing online. And If you think about giving a lecture about morality, please keep your opinions to yourself.

It’s probably that I just don’t feel it when it comes to execution.
The only thing I noticed so far that it seems hard to walk forward block in order to inch your way forward. I get hit a lot doing that but brushed it off as me sucking.

I mean I suck anyways, don’t pay too much attention to what I say in terms of ingame systems lol.

You can technically fix the sync issue already if you know a thing or 2 about computers and it’s another PC only issue from what I know.

Netcode itself is still better than IV’s barring some glitches that are common when new games are released. The matchmaking is what is specifically worse, but that’ll get better over time too.

Believe me when I say - I don’t act.
The simple fact is that your posts are difficult to read, at best, and I am actually quite interested on why you have the views that you do.
Your post previous post was complaining about people cheating online. You’re right, it’s not fun and at the end of the day is a waste of time for both the person cheating and the person trying to actually play.
Then your more recent post is complaining about people using a trainer in order to unlock colours.
So what are you mad at? Are you mad because PC players could potentially cheat? If that’s the case then you should be just as mad that PS4 players could do the same. Others in this thread already explained cheating on PS4 to you.

"Your personal experiences with console cheaters during your glorious 10 years console gaming history does not prove me wrong."
You are quite correct. My experience does not prove you wrong.
However your experience isn’t the same as everyone else’s and as such, doesn’t prove me wrong.
You’re using the anecdote of “PC gamers are cheaters” without anything to back this claim up.

Oh and my “Glorious 10 years console gaming history”…
I have been gaming on consoles since 1990 if you must know. I specifically made that point about playing online on console.

TL:DR - I still do not understand your idea that cross-platform shouldn’t have been included because “PC R Cheaterz” when you have nothing but anecdotes to back it up.

Aww, you think I was lecturing you?

The notion that there shouldn’t be crossplay because the PC can cheat easier than PS4 is flawed when there is an option to avoid PC players altogether. Just set it to PS4 only and it’s no longer an issue.
