The screens look good to me and I love my custom 360 stick. Plus I have som great local comp for the game so I will be happy to download it once it drops on XBLA.

Well, a much lower rate of input lag on ps2 controllers. Since all usb controllers are 16ms.

Good lord, that looks like ass.
The BGs look like 94Rebout levels of bad. Maybe even worse, since they might even lag.
There was nothing wrong at all with old, LAG FREE, 2-D backgrounds.

“Story mode”? WTF?

Good god are the KOF people picky.

SNK did these changes as “improvements”. Someone doesn’t like it? They’re going to speak up.
If that bothers you, then you shouldn’t be on a discussion board.

The stages look pretty good IMO, but SNK definitely sucks at doing HR versions of their old sprites. These are not filtered, they traced them at a higher resolution like they did in '94 Rebout.

They kinda look similar, but Rebout’s sprites don’t look that blurry “inside”. They slook “smudged”, but still seem to be the same resolution and sharpness as the backgrounds:

I can see it being the same process, only sloppier.

Ugh…why the crap would they (attempt to) give us newer lookin’ sprites when the old one’s were just fine… geez it seems like SNK can always find some way to fuck up a good thing, and these new stages look kinda whack too… hope they don’t lag

I’m glad they’re doing -something- with the game. The sprites look pretty good to me so far, especially Nakoruru’s.

I don’t see what yall are bitching about with the new backgrounds and whatever filter they’ve used on the sprites. I think they look great from the screenshots.

How it’ll look in motion is a different story, but we don’t have any footage yet.

A fairly comprehensive (and practical) combo vid for Yuki uploaded recently.

So what does everyone think of Yuki and Ai in terms of character design? I thought they were both pretty weak, although Ai is slightly more appealing due to all the crazy specials she gets (like riding a hot-air balloon).

Yuki’s a gimmicky character that would be better if he wasn’t so reliant on charging. He’s pretty bad since a lot of the time, if you’re fighting a good opponent, he won’t let you just charge all the way up and do lightning crossups all day.

Ai is significantly better. She’s awkward to get the hang of, but she has the infinite.

But her infinite really isn’t very practical when you get right down to it.

I’m not really sure what they could really do to Ai and Yuuki to buff them up without making them broken in NGBC2 or NGBC faux-HD Remix (if they wanted to rebalance the X-Box Live version…which they really, really should. But they won’t).

This is because I’m not sure exactly how Yuuki and Ai’s gameplay styles could actually be good, except for hit-and-run or keepaway (both of which are stifled by the GCFS and AB dashes).

For Yuuki:
-Give him a decent way to combo his ground qcb+P from lows and lights. Also make his ground qcb+P do a hard knockdown, that gives him just enough time for one charge.
-Give his air D some better priority, just not too good so he doesn’t turn into XI Gato ver. 2. Air Dash D on hit should at least give him enough time to do a combo once he lands.
-Make Yuuki pull forward a bit more on the first 2 hits of Mutation Combination (f+A, df+C). This makes it easier to combo from a distance but at the same time makes it GCFS bait if you abuse it on block. The 3rd hit (b+B) should launch the opponent and allow for any follow-ups if you decide not to do the 4th hit. The 4th hit (f+D) should be a hard knockdown.
-Make his Level 1 Beam Super an Ultimate Juggle
-Level 3 Super should do 60% at least

Ai:
-Tetris Block/DM should drop faster
-Give her Basara-like control over her teleports (able to hold button after qcf+b fake to teleport self)
-Robo Arm (df+A) should be an overhead
-d+C and qcb+C should have better priority or disjointed hitboxes
-df+D and qcb+P should have better range
-Better recovery on Super Catch (hcb+K). Should catch Level 1 DMs.
-Should be able to do Joy Joy Party (Tetris DM) from Joy Joy Balloon
-+5% increase on all damage in general

Ouch, it looked much better in SD. Sprites look ugly as hell, much worse than in 94 rebout.

Damn, the sprites look horrible now that I have a closer look.
And lol at them trying to make Neo Dio look normal. The old portraits are still better.
Ugh, this is not looking good at all.

I’d much rather them either make a sequel or fix the netcode for the other games (if MS allows it)

Ehh. Will need to keep the resolution low when playing this.

Maybe even the original sprites would have looked better than this in HD.

At least hoping for some (good) re-balances, particularly a few tweaks on Kim but I doubt it.

They really don’t have to do much to improve the balance really.

Just fix the glitchs. Kim and Big aren’t that retarded…they just need a little nerfing, not whole castration. Beef up everyone under B-tier.

Wow these sprites look fucking hideous. I wish they’d just leave them how they originally looked, like they did with 98UM.
