its a great marketing strategy
I thought we were going off the assumption the person in question ALREADY wanted to learn the fighting game in the first place and had some knowledge of fighting games. I wasn’t referring to total noobs.
I’ve gone through that same scenario at my college many times while I was trying to build a scene. Yeah, you don’t sandbag with those people. The ones that keep coming back are the ones that you want to play and the ones that don’t are wastes of time.
But more to the point - I don’t really see how that would apply to MightyMar.
I guess I just learn differently. Me, I like to get the basics down in practice and stuff like match-ups and how to deal with crap is what is learned on the fly. But basic system mechanics? bnbs? No, that totally doesn’t make sense to me. Stuff like that I feel should be learned beforehand and at the outset (unless its an arcade setting).
(Back on topic) It really fucking sucks that this game isn’t on PSN. =/
Oh ok, so how do you cancel knife stance?
Pressing :l:,:l: makes Marco go back to his neutral stance
Yo Trace, good shit on picking this game up. Wish I was there to play with face to face.
Thinking about picking up Robert for a change of pace, is there any use for his qcb K series? Seems like most of the combo stuff on the wiki doesn’t take that move into account.
lol poor mighty mar. he is super good at vampire but still learning snk games i suppose.

Yeah, upkicks are pretty shitty.
EDIT: blake pretty much covered everything else i was gonna post, so in addition to that stuff, i’ll add random tidbits.
the rekkas aren’t that useful. both are + on block (first hit only) with the D version giving a lot more advantage/low invincibility (though this is asking to be stepped due to its obvious startup), but are punishable even late gcfs, so i guess they’re fine to use sparingly in block strings. his best no meter corner punisher does use rekkas (close C, b+B, B rekka * 4, B flashkick), but its hard, and does like a few pixels more than just doing the f b f+K combo.
vs people neutral jumping your fireballs, you can supercancel into C fireball super for good, free damage.
and this is general kof stuff, but if you have them backturned in the corner (due to a throw or whatever) and land a combo, you may want to consider not comboing into moves that make them face you (f b f+K, ranbu, etc), since you can maintain crossup shenanigans on them if you don’t (and their reversals take an extra frame to start up, so your meaties will pretty much always win unless they do something with a lot of invincibility).
Thank you, Hotaru. You have scammed a many people.
By the way, I don’t even know exactly how her level 1 super works. I know it eats you on the way up if you try a meaty (in most cases, or will trade in other cases - loses to certain jump-ins and Shermie meaties), but does it catch on the first few frames down too? People have been asking me about it and I can’t give them a reply.
I just go…lol…and call it a day. I suggested that if you’re fullscreen away you can most likely block it on the way down, but if you’re close that they should probably move forward or something. Cause jumping and standing there gets you kidnapped sometimes.
I do not believe Joey is playing NGBC anymore. I dunno what Joey is playing right now, maybe SSF4?
Yes it is.
Yeah thing is everyone learns differently, you gotta find out how people learn and adapt, I like to first determine if someone is wasting my time or not, if they are just gonna fuck around and not take it seriously I ain’t gonna bother, but if they are gonna take it seriously like Mar even if they are new then I will show them everything they want to know. But bottom line is my time is as valuable as theirs, do not waste my time and I will not waste yours.
He’s getting there, this is still something new for him, and he’s just getting the games at home now, so I have high hopes for him…
This is true…
So…yeah, I was messing around in practice mode for this game and somehow accidentally got into the character settings mode which I totally forgot about and proceeded to custom all my characters in pimp colors.
Yeah, I don’t why I posted this haha.
Because not having the ability to give everyone pimp colors in a fighting game can legitimately be considered a missing feature, imo. =p
Thanks for the Robert stuff, got plenty of time to read up at work, not as much time to actually play lol.
Any tips vs. Neo Dio? This screaming shithead locks me the fuck down. I tried dash canceling out of his rush attack but I get jab mashed out of any combo attempt.
I am wondering this as well. Athena’s D version DP stuffs the followup mashing jabs after the qcf+k move, but its not reliable online with the lag, especially if you’re not host.
My characters don’t even have reversals. I use Shermie/Haoh/Geese/Hotaru.
OK I give up, how do you cancel Robert’s sonic booms into super? I’ve tried every method of buffering and timing I can think of, that shit isn’t working.
It’s almost instant. don’t wait for the boom to come out
dammit, Noc you are my last hope for a lagless match with someone.
GGS. There was some delay but it was playable to some degree.
I need tips to fight against king lion/shishioh
I always lose when I fight one because I don’t get yet how to fight him
