what chars do you play, and what about him gives you trouble?
I play with kisarah, terry, and sometimes ryo, maybe mai. Now I’m trying to learn how to use Iori and Marco
My problems are that I found his moves with a lot of priority, between his counter, the lion sword, the punch that he gaves with a dash, I can’t have a brake with people who uses king lion
Hey guys. I bought this game on XBLA a while ago. I read some stupid review on IGN that gave this game a 6/10 because the “sprites haven’t aged well since 2008?” Fuck that guy.
You guys can add/play me if you want. I play mostly anyone from the Fatal Fury/KOF/MoW Series since I’ve grown up with those games. I’m also trying to use Fuuma and Asura.
I main King Lion and the last of his strengths is that his normals have a lot of priority. He’s actually a bit on the slow side normal wise although his jump-ins are a bit better. His counter (Nightmare) reverses all mid/high physical attacks and even some things like marco’s pistol. However it fails against projectiles, throws and lows. Just be careful and see what lows your characters actually have - stuff like Lee’s and Genjuro’s sweeps actually hit MID so you will be sucked in. However the Nightmare does pretty poor damage by itself if they don’t super cancel it. The lion sword (Earth Chopper) is pretty unsafe and really shouldn’t be used outside combos or canceling his sweep. Its pretty laggy and you can GFCS through it to punish and some people don’t even need to do that. Just stop walking into it.
The punch (Beast Blow) is fast and pretty safe; it also “swipes” people out of the air if they’re close enough but again the damage isn’t too great. It is difficult to punish this move even with GFCS so just block it. He doesn’t get + frames or anything so go on the offensive from there. King Lion is a decent character but he serious problems with pressure as he’s slow and so tall. His projectile is very good; you can’t out fireball him since it devours other stuff, even some DMs, but at the caveat is that the range is small. So he will eventually have to come to you. Watch out if he has meter though because C version King Straight comes out extremely quickly.
Dunno how much faster I can do it, I’m doing charge back, forward K, then using that forward as the first input of the fireball super. I also tried doing half circle forward for the boom, then half circle back for the ranbu super. I also tried throwing the boom and just inputting the commands normally. I’m not sure how much faster i can do that shit, honestly. If it’s instant though I’ll just have to try. Just making sure it wasn’t some funky timing issue. If it’s just do it really fast, I’ll either get it or I won’t.
Wow, thanks for the answer, I was thinking that I should be more patient when I fight him, but those advices give me a better idea
One more thing, I don’t know what to do after a GFCS, I just get in front of the opponent but it seems that him could recover before I do something after the GFCS
Obviously, the earlier your GFCS the better. The fastest way to punish would be to cr.A instantly after the GFCS. The characters you use can combo from a low jab (Kisarah, Terry, Ryo and Iori) and its a solid punish.
I don’t think you have to wait for the gcfs to finish, so basically as soon as you’re in range for something you can attack? Obviously if you want to get in range for a close C you have to step in further than for a jab or something lol.
If I’m wrong, just ignore this.
oh cool, you got a stream setup? let me know next time you air, cause i’d like to play if it isnt too laggy.
and also, i noticed you were playing against some japanese guys… even though it can be very playable for both parties at times, you’re asking for trouble most times, since if there is lag, it usually is only one person that feels it (host advantage). the pings mostly lie, but its safer to stay away from stuff higher than like 140.
We should setup a time. Send me a friend request to monstersa14. And we shouldnt be to laggy we just got fiber optic installed so we have 5mb dedicated upload.
I’m in NC, so not too far either…I’ll try to send you a req soon.
I often do you run that NGBC stream?
Hard to say really. Im trying to learn the game so i play pretty often, but i just realized that this stupid game lacks lobbies… I was considering it for our online tournaments which start next month, but now i really cant cause there is now way to spectate and broadcast other matches…
either way just shoot me a friend request.
Hi, I play NGBC. Looking for more people to play. I’m average at best but looking to improve.
Honestly, if you’re in Houston…you have no business playing this online while I’m here…
Man anytime u wanna come but the arcade and teach me some SNK ill let u play for free. Hell im just gonna make all SNK game free to play. We have people who come play SSf4 all day every day but no one gives SNK no love.
Ima try to make an SNK meetup weekend or somethin, but until then all SNK games are free. (Garou, NGBC, SamSho, 98UM)
Real talk, IGN sucks complete ass for reviews.
They give God Hand a 3, yet they give Imagine Party Babyz a 7.
WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WITH THAT?!
Shishioh, lets make the trip. We can kick some ass online (despite your ever so slight dislike) and make a day out of it.
God Hand was hard, so they probably thought that since their SUPERIOR GAME SKILZZZZ couldn’t handle it, that the game was flawed. Most recently some douche did the same thing with Blur, started off the article saying something to the effect of “dude not to be cocky but I’m good at games” then claiming that Blur was random and not based on skill because he couldn’t win. Even though all the powerups are in the same place every time, and there’s no rubberbanding, the game was random because he wasn’t winning.
IGN sucks, we all been said this a while back.
