"Nem-Assists": The Nemesis Teambuilding/Assists Thread

My god, Nem/Strider is the truth. Honestly, I think you can just put anyone else who also uses Strider well (yeah he’s good for everyone but helps some more than others) in the 1st or 2nd slot, if you run Nem 1st I’d just put a combo helper in there. I’m doing this with Chris as he too greatly benefits from Vajra in his keep away game and using his mine assist to get braindead easy 750k+ corner combos and some fairly decent resets.

I’d hate to say this but yeah, I think you are screwed at that point if you only have Nemesis left. If he plays it right (not very hard) it’s a really bad matchup. I guess the advice is don’t let him become the anchor, I almost always keep him in until he dies, if that time even comes. Maybe tag in Wesker sometime before that but just don’t put Strider in before Nemesis at all costs is all I can say. Oh and save that xfactor for Strider or whoever the anchor is, you really have to conserve that xfactor against Arthur if you’re not already on his ass cause that bastard will chip you out no matter who you are.

Yeah Gold arthur can do that to ya on XF…its dangerous i’m guessing it was the lance? or infinite Goddess braclet?

Nemesis by himself is difficult but what you can do is hope for j.H crossups and do some kara cancels into command grabs to open your opponents up.

Iv been running nemesis/task/wesker it’s pretty good :slight_smile: I’ll try strider today. Can anyone tell me what you’re doing for the Kara command throws ? What is the input ? Thank you :))

So I just got back from GA’s first big UMVC tournament and I got third running Nemmy/Hulk/Doom all with Alpha assist. I like Nemmy on point as he can frustrate people into making mistakes and capitalizing hard on them. Also Nem/Hulk synergy is unreal. I also feel like Nemmy does really well against Phoenix.

I am running Nemi/hawk/strider and tbh if they accomplish to kill my nemi I am RAPED…my Hawk skillzzzz are “OK” but my strider skillzzz are OmG so BAD!
I really dont know what i am doing wrong…all inputs on Hawk and strider are horrible…I wana paly rushdown with nemi but when tehy kill him I am so helpless with hawk and strider…Need HELP!

I’ve been running Nemmy with Arthur’s daggers assist. So far, the only characters that make Nemmy look free to this set-up are Firebrand and Hawkeye. I’m sure Strider would help this issue, but I don’t really care for Strider in general. I want to run Deadpool second with either the upwards shot (mostly for Firebrands) or OTG (combo continuation/resets). What do you guys think of this set-up?

Looks like your problems are with Hawkeye and Strider. Maybe you just need more time with them. Your team looks solid. Hawkeye should be getting good use out of Strider’s assist. The main problem I see with these two on the same team is that Strider wants 3 bars and XF3 to be scary, but Hawkeye loves Gimlet. Also, DHCs from Nemmy to Hawkeye don’t do a lot of damage and they leave you in a bad position (since Nemmy lands next to the opponent after rockets).

Thats true…I cant play online cuz almost all of my oppnonents are from the states, then Hawk and strider are not very friendly to me xD and still dont know who gona be my anchor…Eye or Strider.

Its really hard to decide, saw combos Nemi and Hawk and thats insane! I really wish to be someday on teh same lv as him with those 2 chars

Your anchor should be Strider. His vajira assist should be the main assist of your team. Nemmy and Hawkeye get a lot of use out of it. Try to save meter for Strider’s Lv3 orbs. Strider kinda needs XF3 to do damage.

The team he’s using is my team and the DHC should be followed with Gimlet if you want a dead character, but if you can’t kill use Exploding arrow it gives Hawkeye enough time to retreat to the other side of the screen. Any attempts to get close on Hawkeye should be stomped by Vajra, espicially by jumping since Hawkeye’s anti-air isn’t the greatest. A free cross up is Hawkeye Trick H + Nemesis RL Slam it works well and Hawkeye can combo afterwards. If someone gets too close you can use NEmesis’ RL Slam to help out Hawkeye but just be wise there’s only 1 point of armor and it comes out pretty slowly.

Just go into training mode and just keep on practicing until execution is so perfect you could do it with your eyes closed (or not).

Nice. It’s a solid team. Strider’s assist is very useful for both characters.

ThX for the info…the hawkeye combo looks solid and easy to udnerstand but the strider combo after j.H j.S I lost the trace wat exactly to do (Sorry I am a noob and really willing to handel this game properly so sorry for my maybe stupid questions)

I’ve been having some good matches with Nemmy/Wesker/sent. Sent drones help you control the entire screen at normal jump height, which means nemmy can do whatever the hell he wants while they’re out. Keepaway with St. towards H or fullscreen tk rockets, or you can just jump h all over them, empty jump and then use classic grappler mixups after that last drone hits.

I haven’t used vajira too much but I assume it only helps with controlling those hard to reach areas as it does for most of the cast cuz everyone loves them some vajira <_<. Nemz doesn’t have a solid OTG either so you’ll have to rely on the mixup after the assist hits. The fact that it has 2 different hit states is annoying though.

The Tentacle Slam can start a throw switch thanks to the long ground bounce. So a teammate gets a full combo with no throw scaling off a command grab! However it uses your ground bounce, so you may need to adjust the incoming character’s combo (e.g. Dante has to end with Volcano -> Bee Hive - > Million Dollars instead of Volcano -> Bee Hive - > Volcano -> Million Dollars).

I tested Dante, Wesker, and Doom and they all work. Experiment with your team and change teammates if needed!

It’s the lance; I thought I just suck at “SJing after blocking the first lance” but it’s as if I’m locked in block stun for a long time. sigh. Even Nemesis high health won’t last long against lvl 3 XFed Gold Arthur’s spam shenanigans…memories of MvC2 Cable with meter come rushing back. hahaha

…You’re kidding right? There’s no reason why you shouldn’t be MAULING him so he can’t see that BS up anyways PLUS you have x-factor too.
You being bad at fighting Arthur(no offense) doesn’t make it “officially” a bad matchup for the character.
If you think ANY matchup is in Arthur’s favor you’re playing it completely wrong.

Note that I already know X factor exists; my problems with Arthur are a bit more bearable if I’m left with Wesker (teleport) but in the rare cases I’m stuck with nemesis as the last character, that’s where I’m struggling.

Without the Xfactor and the gold armor, Arthur does become more bearable, even if I’m using Nemesis. It’s the gold armor/xfactor that bothers me as I tend to be in a hurry to kill off his 2 characters.

Sorry for coming off like a dick, your situation was just mind boggling
but all versions of deadly reach pretty much shut down anything Arthur can get going @_@
I know it’s a pain if he gets the jump on you and starts spamming lvl 3 x-factor gold armor projectiles but I mean…thats annoying for like everybody, not just Nemesis.

It’s the block stun that gets me. I know Nemesis can’t stay in the air forever and once I block, it’s all over for me. :frowning:

On the other hand, Deadly reach is my only response against Arthur but I was hoping that there IS a small window for you to SJ after you block a single lance from lvl 3 xfactored+gold armored arthur and maybe my timing’s off…but I guess the consensus is that there is none.
