I think Strider’s bad matchup (not to derail into the strider thread) is taskmaster , his arrows can stop vajra and the stupid priority on some of his moves. Not to mention his jumping down forward arrows prevent strider from using Wall Cling to the other side for Satelite + Wall Cling mixups that of which i’m a fan of at the moment. BUT it could just be me, I hate playing against Taskmaster with just about every character I use except Dormmamu.
Hawkeye helps Nemesis a bunch Triple Arrow can be comboed into if crossed up and it covers up some of Nemesis’ slower moves (Even if they are already safe on block)
I was thinking of RR/Nemesis like El_Maiz said, But i’ll have to learn Rocky first.
Well I’ve been using wolverine/nemesis/taskmaster since pre-release, and I’m more or less pleased overall. Big problem here are the teleporters for me and mixups from the smaller cast. j.H can only take me so far and I’m still in the rudimentary stages of using Nemesis. Forgetting to use CL upon a blocked magic series, not dashing in on reaction after using the aforementioned special, etc. Ultimately though, something tells me Task’s horizontal arrows are limiting Nemesis, and in no way can I phantom replacing Taskmaster as my anchor.
j.H takes you as far as you need to go D: It destroys teleporters.
and don’t always use CL to end your magic series. Kara command throws SCOOP PEOPLE UP ALL DAY
and horizontal arrows are limiting the hell out of Nemesis, he needs something to keep them out of the air reliably. Purification and Jam session pseudo-accomplish that but if you read what some of have been saying, we’re raving about Strider’s vajra : P
I’ve been running Nemesis/Wesker/Hawkeye and it has decent synergy. Wesker’s gun OTG makes for extending his combos after an air S extremely easy…no dash forward even needed to make the gun into relaunch hit. Also Hawkeye assist A and Nemesis tentacle hand and it beats out teams that aren’t designed around true keepaway.
I wana play Nemi/Heye/Strider…but I am not sure if that wil work. i would be happy if you could help me here out with the choice I have/want to make for my team.
Not sure what assist i wana use, but i think the Vajra of Stride ris Kinda OP as a read the thread here.
(uMvC3 noob, so happy for any tips I can get )
I like having Taskmaster or Hawkeye forward arrows, or shopping cart or tatsu. Jumping d.C is really good, but its hard to follow up on hit. You can use these assists to continue the combo.
Vergil’s gamma assist is so sweet when Nemesis is taking point. Wanna zone someone out with limbs? Call Vergil. Want some lockdown? Call Vergil. And if this assist hits the opponent Nemesis can follow it up with his Rocket Hyper.
Nemesis and Vergil work very well together In my opinion, Nemesis builds good meter, and they benefit mutually from each others assists. They also DHC with each other well.
Its Mvc2 terminology i think, he means the last assist as in the assists go Alpha, Beta and Gamma.
I switched Dormmamu out for hawkeye in the second slot because Dormmamu wasn’t providing an assist that helped Nemesis control space (though it did help for resets). I use Hawkeye’s triple shot as an assist and use it periodically to cover Nemesis in blindspots and help him control ground space which if he does and keeps pressure on the opponent chances are they won’t be ready to counter and are vulnerable to a command grab.
After a standard Nemesis combo I DHC from Rockets into Super Scatter Shot, since it does more damage than Grimet and it pushes the opponent back allowing Hawkeye to be at his best, which IMO is being a keepaway (he’s ok at rushdown took since he’s got that slide). In the event that Nemesis is going to be punished or needs to switch out. DHC’ing into Grimet is a pretty safe option to counter whatever the opponent was going to use to kill Nemesis.
If Nemesis took a beating and is also switched out Hawkeye’s keepaway can give Nemesis time to recover his red health.
I wouldn’t use Scatter shot assist wtih Hawkeye, it’s not bad but it only covers the far end of the screen. That of which Strider can already do that since he’s got Vajra.
Speaking of Vajra, it works amazing for Nemesis since it prevents people from super jumping and playing keepaway, it also serves as a combo breaker and stops combos started on Nemesis. Nemesis can also follow up from when an opponent is hit in the air by Vajra with Biohazard Rockets since it causes a hard knockdown.
Nemesis is not a meter whore he doesn’t need to use meter to dish out allot of damage (Although if you want those 80-100% combos you better use it) and since he has those reset potential he might never even have to use it. Hawkeye may or may not be a meter user depending on how he’s played, really depending on whether you constantly look for an opening to use Gimlet on, which sometimes it might not be worth it. Because if your whole team is down Strider with XF3 and Ouroboros is a deadly combo.
Just to warn that Nemesis is easy to do basic combos but has a certain skill barrier, he’s not Sentinel or Hulk with free and easy armor moves to dish out. you have to play him wisely. The same goes for Strider since his health is the 2nd lowest in the game. In terms of execution skill barrier Nemesis requires average execution, Hawkeye a little bit above average, and Strider requires probably more so in the future higher tiered execution.
Thats some insane valuable information. I palyed yeasterday vs a mate and he is using Dorm/Nova/Spencer and tbh he is raping my lifw with Dorm and spencer. Could it be that Nemi is realllllllyyyy inefectif vs keepaway chars cuz Dorm is a nightmare
Vergil is pretty thin on life too, but Strider more so. But then again if your smart and good health of a character doesn’t matter in this game.
Yeah Nemesis has trouble against Keepaway, against Keep away I recommend using SJ and using rockets against them and try to get as close as possible and keep using Air deadly reach.
So My team is Nemi/Task/Hawkeye, i actually saw that team in a vid and i was like O.O
Task assist - Hori Arrows
Hawkeye assist - Poison
Nemi assist - slam
From the looks of that set up i dont need to explain anything. But they are very good together i will up load some vids…
Well, I’ve been experimenting with tons of new characters like crazy, and have settled on only one thing: Nemesis is my favorite of the new cast (both as a character and in the game), and I want to build my main team around him.
Per the suggestion of OneWingedAngel, I’ll be trying out Nemesis/Hawkeye/Strider tonight. I had already started messing with a Hawkeye/Strange/Nemesis team with Dr. Strange using his DoD assist in a similar fashion. The only problem is that I haven’t used Strider as much, and he would easily be the weak link on my team for a while. Would Dr. Strange work as a decent substitute, or am I pretty much locked into learning Strider?
I’m really digging Nemesis/Sentinel/Strider It works on so many fronts.
Sentinel + Angled Tenticle keeps them grounded. You can TK Rocket their assists if they try to pull them out.
Strider knocks them out of the air and you can pressure with it and straight tentacle
Arial exchanges put in Sentinel to do big damage if Nemesis is low on heath and gives meter for Striders orbs.
It helps that no one really knows how to fight against Nemesis aside from spam projectiles (I love it when people push block his cr.H I’m just like "THANK YOU! I DIDN’T WANT TO BE PUNISH! YOU JUST HELPED ME OUT BIG TIME BRO!) and no one really knows how to handle orbs yet.
Alright. I had a VERY SATISFYING bunch of results with Nemesis (Rocket slam assist), Wesker (low shot assist; designated anchor 95% of the time) and Strider (vajra assist…SURPRISE!!!); 5 games out of 10, I do a OCV with Nemesis on point along with Strider’s assist spam with air d+h. 4 out of 10, I do sooo much damage to them, they’re barely left with very little life, they face a full HP bar’ed Wesker with (usually) 3 levels of super and X factor ready…who could kill them with chip damage from his Max. Wesker super. 1 out of 10, I just get plain outclassed by a better player…but hey! I’m learning a barely 7 day old game!
Right now, my BIGGEST weak link is Strider; I just can’t land his supers consistently; off to the Strider forums then.
PS: A good buddy of mine surprised me with an anchor lvl 3 Xfactored Arthur; he’d wear the gold armor power up and then chip me to death…which even a full bar Nemesis will drop dead in a few seconds. Any ideas? I could pray Wesker survives the first 2 characters so that I could do my tele shenanigans…but in the event I end up with Nemesis as the last character, any ideas?
