no, if you fight anyone thats good using ryu, you will eat cr.mk and another hadouken clearing the damage you absorbed, you absorb it and back off to gain ultra, and work your way in, try and absorb and move forward on anyone with skill and youll regret it

I’m not saying you should be fadc in his face or anything. Plenty of top balrogs fadc forward to mix it up and to push in close. I’m not advocating only going forward with Fadc as if you were dictator or something but for sure it should be used.

FADC backdash through fireballs is a safer option, but there are opportunities at certain distances where you can fadc forward through a fireball and catch them in recovery. but it’s risky for sure. I would much rather build revenge meter and absorb fireballs and backdash into safety. Having an ultra is usually a mindgame of its own, causes hesitation in players sometimes.

I do agree. I don’t think it’s very risky to be honest if you have the spacing correct.

Yes. It can catch them in recovery if you space it right, but I have played NO decent Ryu’s that will fireball me within ideal FADC forward range because it inevitably leads to me TAP’ing or EX’ing through. Charge Characters really have a hard time against El Fuerte, he is one of my tough matches as well

Poor Blanka, the guy using him never stood a chance (he is not crap). This is just a bad match up for him. For those who may have problems fighting Blanka, this is probably textbook play that is close to bulletproof.

You’d have won that match if you practiced the Overhead Rush >> c.lkxxhp headbutt combo.

You landed it several times (Four times, actually, and two of them, if followed with ultra, would have given you the lead), and got no more than a sweep afterwords. Just go into training mode and do that combo into ultra after it until you have it down. :tup:

yea i see what you mean.
there were 3 opportunities where i had contacted the standing o.h.
i tend to be under the impression that rog will block low since o.h => c.lk ~ h.b would whiff on c.lk if he’s crouching which is why i tend to resort to using the c.fk.

Lol this Sagat is very popular in France my country ! It’s amazing to see him play a very efficient sagat, spamming tiger shot and punishing all the jump attacks…then, without any reasons, he spam a dragon uppercut…that’s why we love him, nicknamed “Le piffeur franais”.
But his opponent Belbejin i guess is maybe the best Rog in japan, so nice to see him play very agressive

Ahh, my mistake. I didn’t know that whiffed on boxer. Went into training mode and sure enough it didn’t work.

Dash swing blow only stands the opponent up on counter hit.

IIRC, the only dash punch that forces standing without counter hit is dash straight.

Since it tends to whiff on some characters, you should practice DSB > c.mp xx hp.hb

It’s a tougher link than c.lk, but easier link than c.hk.
