how can u deal with gen crossups?? i mean i wasted tons of rush upper to get away ,fa dash b&f didnt help, TAP helped sometimes but not as consistent as with the rest of the characters
that gen got alot of jump ins on you. i’m guessing that lag might have prevented you from getting a clean c.HP off.
the TAP>ex head butt is the type of maneuver you do like once, just to throw some one off. it’s very unsafe.
imo, you should try to be more patient and block more. gens cross ups aren’t that hard to see. not much he can follow it up with once you block the cross up.
yeah gen is a bitch at times. his ambiguous is annoying> don’t really have much tips, but just try not to dash punch from a far distance when he has super meter or ultra, but thats a general thing. also when he corsses you up, he does a punch combo ending in a cr kick(not sure whioch one) you ate that like 3 times, so after the combo block low, i donthink he can punish you if you do block low

Didn’t know where else to put it, but I guess that here is the best place for comments on my Boxer. Probably most feedback will be bad, but consider that I had to play on a PS3 pad, and that it was my 3rd time playing the game, as I don’t own a PS3 or X360. You might still want to watch it, though, and see how someone that doesn’t has the game can beat people who actually have it, just by information (learned the combos reading them here the day before, but I missed an obvious FADC, because I didn’t know about them at the time.).
its a SA2 that doesnt break armor, which has a supposed crumple effect. i remember sa2 have some form of invulnerability after the white flash, so the dash punch effect came afterwards.
poongko really is something. he just left a HK tourney beating our best player (a guile), causing all of us to kinda reflect on how to improve. we’re all pretty devastated. janet is a bad boxer. period. how’d he even get to finals is perplexing to me
uhm… is it really that insane?? poongko charges FA, janet throws out a c.lp, poongko’s FA absorbs the c.lp and he lets go and the FA attack comes out, but janet canceled the c.lp into ex dash straight… ex dash straight absorbs FA attack, ex dash straight hits poongko…
i think you missed the c.lp with all the flashing haha but if you look carefully its there
i think one of the cooler things janet did in that video was at 06:24, where he FADC’s into ex dash punch (charge back, mp+mk, f, f + let go + lp+hp/lk+hk)… never thought of doing that… ^^ too bad it was stuffed… but creative nonetheless ^^ could be a surprise tactic to start an ex upper combo
i agree janet’s boxer is not impressive at all in this tournament… but the tournament was run on japanese hori sticks, mandatory for all players, compared to the korean fanta sticks that 95% of all koreans use and are accustomed too… that being said… his play is still not impressive… i hope he shows what he as well as boxer is all about in the world tournament tho go korea!
btw… ephemeral i hear the HK scene is real good, with a lot of aggressive play… as well as china… any reasons why they arent included in the world tourney? i think its silly that they are calling it a world tourney being that its japan, us, & korea (and possibly europe? but i doubt it… being that the world tournament is gonna be held very soon…)
i personally think there are great players here, but on average, there are still lots of scrubs advent the console release. the ones that are good are always in a group, and they play each other repeatedly to find holes in their offense and defense. I mean, we as a community couldnt take down poongko and the taiwan champion (both ryu players).
when you go at the right time, the arcade scene can be pretty crazily competitive, but times that are not prime time its a training ground. if you are curious as to where i stand, i can spar with the named top players consistently going to round 5, but not good enough to topple them and say i am part of that group. our top players are atm is 2 ryus, 1 guile, 1 bison, 1 zangief, 1 chun. Of course i still lose to flawless sagats and turtle giefs or stupid mistakes in between.
aojiru guile is the closest role model i have for my rog, but even then i think he doesnt punish hard enough or use SA enough to pressure continuously. he even misses lots of combos that he shouldnt miss in recent vids (exRU bnbs)
i think its because hk just doesnt have a big enough community for us to represent i’m definitely joining the next tourney though. (didnt think the one that just happened was THAT big) Not only that, many jap players have played us as a community and we’re quite not up to par with the pros in japan either, so I guess we may not be worthy in the eyes of top players.
but yeah, i feel my boxer inadequate now knowing that HK’s best lost to Korea’s best by such a huge margin 3-1. (even though its Guile v Ryu)
