Hey guys. I’ve got this image here that with a little manipulation will be be perfect for art on my new stick. Only problem is that there’s some text on there I don’t want and whilst basic shopping I can do, text removal in a fairly complex area is beyond me.
Here’s the pic, you can see the Japanese text and ‘TUKIHIME’ that I’d like removed:
The first thing I’d try to do is create a new layer over the offending text and work with a combination of cloning and some light painting to touch up. The tukihime seems to be in a pretty friendly spot for this method from this resolution (there isn’t a lot of complicated shit to clone out/blend). The opaque white texture that is laying over the entire picture is the only part that is gonna give you trouble there (if it isn’t on a seperate layer, but is a part of the image you’re using). The other text is gonna be a tad more difficult, because you’ll have more complicated shapes to paint in then the tukihime text, but it is doable.
You may have to create your own white bars, overlay and then create white noise on the area you painted and overlay that layer as well to try and blend with the overall picture.
Here is a quick touch up I did that took about 15 minutes. With enough putzing around, you can definitely get a better…less obvious…blend happening.
I like the 3rd one. Damn, you cleared off the filter over that anime girl yourself?
The only thing about the third one would prolly be the background [looks inversed]. The dark setting is nice though. Goes good with the images on the right.
Note: Prolly save everything in the 3rd one’s background except for the grass. That’s what really sticks out. Everything else looks good.
It looks inversed because it basically is. I used the Solarise filter in PS, which basically makes a negative version of the image and then blends it with the original. I’m not entirely sure what to do with the grass, to be honest.
Also I didn’t remove the filter, I just found the original image that the person who made the wallpaper I’m working from used, resized it to fit, and then layered it over the top. If I was good enough to remove all that filtering I would be off making millions in graphic design or something…
