So I went to the rocky mount tourney and it was fun stuff. The guy that is running the tourney wants to make fighting games a monthly event. We had three set ups there today and everything was run well. I can speak to the guys passion for this and hopefully they will continue as there are not enough tourneys in eastern nc. Next time I’ll try to bring people with me!

Yeah. Once I get a few more weeks in where I work I can start asking for days off so I can make these local tourneys. No reason I shouldn’t be able to make Greenville/Rocky Mount tournaments at the very least. With me having Wednesdays off I’m hoping to make it to a WNB and can hopefully ride/split gas with someone else locally when they go. Glad to hear Hot Wheels was a positive experience!

oh yeah btw, I’ve been hitting up that last arc arcade here and there. I’m happy to report I finally lost my first game of 3s, but then the dude quit rather promptly after “discovering a glitch” that made it impossible for him to block yang’s universal overhead, short, ex rekkkas. Stay free chumps.

When do you go to lost arc? I never see you there, I live literally down the street from it.

Hey guys, long time member/reader, I don’t post much in the local thread, or in general really =(. But! I’ve recently moved to Charlotte to attend UNCC, my origins are out of the triad area. I was curious if anyone could point me in the direction of the Charlotte scene. Anyone know anyone? or is anyone attending UNCC?

Commonsense and I were talking about KOF and it’s lack of a scene in NC. What I hate the most is when people say they love how the game plays and want to get into it and then they have a “but” to justify why they are not playing it. I know everyone has there complaints about the game (time consuming is a very valid option). I wish people would just be truthful about how they feel though. If you don’t like it because you are loosing, then that’s fine (just say so). If you don’t like it because it’s a weird looking fighter or the execution is difficult then just say so. If you just don’t like the people that play it… just say so. As you all know I am not very shy about giving my, sometimes poisonous, opinion about a game and it’s scene. I am very frustrated about this so I am attempting for the umteenth time to branch out into games that people play. UMvC3 and AE are the obvious choices (these are also games I own). Guilty Gear also sounds like it will at least be fun to play since there is a very good established scene. Does anyone have a suggestion for another game to jump into that people play? Tekken (also a game I own) is a given but it’s so different from 2D I may have to put myself into solitude to learn a few things before I start playing people. I’ll probably post more about this later today seeing as how I am in my PHP class right now.

Ain’t going to be anything supported in a long while in NC besides AE and UMvC3.
Unfortunately those are your only two choices left.

As for KOF 13, I hate the game because of the execution and system mechanics. Playing KOF 2002UM today for the first time in about 10 months only solidified that feeling for me. The fact that I suck hard and lose in the game doesn’t help, but I’ve still enjoyed lots of games that I suck at and lose to BS (CvS2 is the foremost in mind).
Then again, if people actually enjoyed Vanilla SF4, 3rd Strike, and A-Bison/Blanka/Sakura/Claw '01 then they have no excuse to not like KOF 13 unless they’re lazy, which describes most of the scene these days.

Fix my pancreas and I’ll make it to more of these gatherings. I may be wrong but it’s always the same people playing it. I know I have been AWOL for a while but toward the end it was always the same people playing it. There was no new blood and no new strats. It was all the same. I know that may be harsh just because it’s hard to develop in KoF just due to execution and the speed of the game itself. I wont go into too much right now about that since I’m very hi right now. Speaking of AE… what happened to WNB scene. That is/was the most popular of all the games represented. If you are suggesting UMvC3 then I’ll try that. I hope I can make it out tomorrow.
