And Tekken may not be for everyone, but its still enjoyable for a lot of people. NC is definitely gonna be a strong force in Tag2 within the FGC. You should come out to one of the Tekken sessions. If Tekken seems too āadvancedā for you and you enjoy P4A I would recommend playing DOA. Its really fun and I guess you could argue āeasierā to get into, but some of the basics like spacing and movement you can still transfer over to Tekken.
Plus at WNB there are people out there playing VF with casuals and now tournament, so you should definitely roll by and check it out. They even have P4A on the line up as well.

Did you ever live in the tri-state area? PA specifically? I used to play melee and knew of a Mario player with that tag. Also Iām thinking of officially having sessions every Friday in Greensboro for the most popular games like MVC, KOF, P4U etc. but I want more than just Greensboro to come. Iām all about trying to get people to improve and I may get into Tekken if it really does blow up like it seems. Iām gonna buy the game regardless since I like Tekken casually but if enough people are playing its going to force me to try and get better. Iām trying to spark some interest and hopefully get the scenes together since Greensboro is basically in the middle of everything. Let me know what everyone thinks and I will try to get something together.

Thatās the plan. I mean, I still play Accent Core and Melty Blood when I have the chance, and Persona is a lot better off than either of those games.
Iāve played Tekken games before, and the last game in the series I really liked was Tekken 2. TTT1 was passable, 3 was alright but didnāt hold my interest, 4 was awful based on the bit of it I played in an arcade, I never played 5, and 6 bores me. I hear TTT2 plays like Tekken 6 with tags, so Iām not interested at the moment. Itās nothing to do with the difficulty - Iām pretty sure I couldnāt like GG or Jojoās if I was scared off by execution requirements, nor could I like Melty if I was scared off by pressure.
If NC can represent in a game people care about, thatāll be awesome. Iām not trying to say Tekken is ābadā from a competitive standpoint, itās just not for me.
Given DoAās historical precedent, especially with regards to 4, I have trouble believing it will be a good game in the end. Tecmo / Team Ninja have another chance to prove themselves with 5, but Iām skeptical about the odds.
Itās four hours away, even if I come and win Persona it wonāt pay for the gas to get there and back to Boone. If I were closer, I would definitely be there, but as-is there are weeklies in Tennessee closer than WNB. For now though, I mostly play with the local group up hereā¦ and try to convince them to come to tournaments when I can.
P4 isnāt a bad game at all. It can be pretty fun. Iām not completely dropping it. Just shifting focus when TTT2 comes out. As long as people play P4, Iāll play it though. We just need more people out supporting it if itās gonna hang around.

Oh Iām still located in Georgia. But in a few months, Iām looking to move into North Carolina. Trying to find a nice location + a healthy FG scene. Was trying to get an idea of the scene here before making any final decisions.
