NC Thread LXVII (67) - RIP MaximumBurst

Im down for holding casuals in fayetteville for persona if people would want to come to that.

anybody down for some kof and marvel sessions in wilmington?

EDIT: this weekend maybe?

I would assume there will be some sort of interest for it there; it wouldn’t make sense to throw up a $200 pot bonus (taken away from SFxT) for it at the Sept. 29th tournament otherwise.

… if that’s happening. It was mentioned as a possibility on the Faye FB group.

I have been busy haven’t been able to keep up with much of anything. Hell I didnt even know there was faye FB group lol. Linkies? please and thank you

Don’t use it as an excuse to let the NC thread die though, seriously.

can’t make it tonight

The $200 pot bonus for P4A is definitely happening. We’re trying to get with Atlus on some other swag too, so cross your fingers on that…

As for posting between FB and SRK, I haven’t posted on either for a while. It’s only with the KDP season starting that I’m really getting back into the threads here. I’ll try and cross post as much as I can, just to keep everyone informed.

explain.

I’ve ordered the game and I’m giving it a shot. It looks less like BB with Persona characters than it used to.

Otherwise, play KOF!

one button combos and burst.

:coffee:

Any of you guys want to play some Starcraft 2 or Natural Selection 2?

How about some 3s?

but seriously though persona 4 is going to be really good. i can’t wait to start using chie

To be honest, I really think a lot of people who didn’t like BB will like Persona (or at least like the game a hell of a lot more than BB).

Just from what I’ve seen / been told from people who own the JP version (or play in the arcade)…
-Grabs have shorter range, faster startup, larger tech window (as opposed to Blazblue EX’s long grab range, slow startup, smaller tech window)
-no more TRM
-no more Purple Grabs
-no rolling like in BB (can only tech in place / lay on the ground)
-5A anti-air is weaker / 5A hitboxes are positioned lower in general
-no more 2A anti-airs / low profile 2A anti-airs (Taokaka…)

The only thing I don’t like is that P4U has is the same neutral air tech mechanic as BB. But it’s not that big of a deal. Game looks awesome.

so, whos trying to play some KoF or VF this weekend?

I’m down for some KOF.

I am also down for the king of fightan.

btw we should get Ed on KoF commentary more often, he did a good job explaining whats going on for the stream last night. Demo + Ed commentary duo?

MINDGAMES Fight Club is proud to announce a new ranking system that will encourage competition and add a new dimension to MINDGAMES events.

Cool Points (CP) will be awarded to players according to their placing in each game’s tournament. Each game’s system will be as follows:

1st place: 6 CP
2nd place: 5 CP
3rd place: 4 CP
4th place: 3 CP
5th place: 2 CP
5th place: 2 CP

All entrants get 1 point.

At the end of each season, each game’s top placer will earn a prize and everyone’s points will reset to 0, beginning a new season. Also, at the end of each season, there will be a larger event presented by [bfp] where top placers will be granted top seeding.

Point systems are not new but MINDGAMES is adding an interesting twist. POINT BATTLES (PB)!!!

Point Battles allow members of the MFC to c****hallenge others at TNT events for CP.
Both parties must agree to battle terms such as points wagered by each party, format (First-to-3, best of 3, etc.), and any other stipulations.
A member of [bfp] must be present to monitor/sanction the match and record results.
All Point Battles must take place at a MINDGAMES event (such as TNT).
No PBs can take place while either or both parties are still alive in any on-going tournament at an event.

The inaugural season will be for Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Other games may be added at the discretion of [bfp].

After each event, current season standings will be posted for each game.

Train up, tell your friends, and get ready to battle for top honors in the MINDGAMES FIGHT CLUB this season!

See you on those Tuesdays! Season 1 starts August 7th.

RESULTS FROM 7/24/12 posted at facebook.com/MINDGAMESBFP

I’m gonna call it now, someone’s gonna go all in and bet a season’s worth of CP on a battle near the end of it.

CP system? I love it. Now if you guys start running that Tekken when it drops, I vow to go take all of the CP from the Piedmont area players lol
