NC Thread LVI - Sessions / Tournaments in the First Post

how would selling your PS3 for a pittance solve any of those. You’re moving the goal quite a distance here-- all the way from “getting ripped off by gamestop” to “why I don’t like sony”.

It started April 20th and there hasn’t been any 100% confirmation to my knowledge of the cc/personal info actually being leaked.

Ehh MVC3 doesn’t change the characters that much. Just glitches and Sentinels health, which was needed anyway. Not like a total revamp of how they play / combos and all that.

Yeah the spacing apart is pretty large but the amount of change is HUGE compared to other fighting games that do updates. Fei from vanilla super all the way to AE really hasn’t changed much at all, I could still play him the exact same way between games and all the combos are pretty much the same. BB… that’s definitely not the case.

Anyway, before this balloons into general grievances, all I’m saying is selling your PS3 seems like a kneejerk reaction. Buying an Xbox if you don’t already have one, etc, those are all different.

I’d agree, but I think if you bring SF4 into the mix the question becomes what’s the difference between a sequel and an update/patch, and should those two be treated any differently.

I also think the fact that by and large the BB games are getting better is enough incentive for any fan of the series to appreciate/look forward to these updates.

Lastly I’d say that more frequent updates are just a product of our more immediate connection to the developers (internet) than we had in the past, sort of a ‘this is just how it goes now’ thing. But yeah, I’m not trying to sell anyone on BB necessarily. Play what you want, etc.

yeah, I’m getting a 360 again if it isn’t up in by next week. I’ve actually gone back to GGPO for a bit.

KOF doesn’t seem as good as I remember, but Samsho Special holds up well.

Maybe if I find a character I like other than Bang, I’ll play. He’s got hit pretty hard.

The only character that is arguably bad is Tager, which is nothing new. NOL runs CS2, Makoto, Jin, Noel and Hazama are all S.

If you have a JP copy of CS for PS3, you should be able to download the CS2 patch tonight or tomorrow morning. USA version got delayed.

I dont feel like multi-quoting all the things that I wanna respond to so I will just hit them like this.

  1. im running games and a movie tonight.

  2. im definitely NOT jumping the gun and getting rid of my PS3. just gonna switch over some games. you can get a copy of Blazblue on xboxLIVE on demand for like $20 or go buy a used one for $15. the system update is free.

  3. i can definitely say that CC info HAS been compromised on psn. anybody that wants to look at my last bank statement will see an unauthorized purchase that i know i didnt make.

  4. im interested in playing some Tekken this weekend. PM sent

hope everyone is doing well

School is raping me. that is all.

Oh god the amount of law suits that are going up Sony’s butts right now for stuff like this.

Cool man, from my current counts looks like we will have you, my friend, myself, seventh, and Nikki and his room mate. Two T6 setups and one AH3. It will be fun.

Yup, a couple of guys at my work had MASSIVE amounts of money stolen from them, I’m talking in the thousands. Luckily they got it back but hearing that, I canceled my cards and just replaced them. I’d suggest everyone do the same, this shit is for real. Apparently it’s a large group of people using the cards too so don’t think they’ll just miss your card by luck if it’s only 1 or 2 people. Your shit will get jacked lol

NGBBBBBBBBBBC??? haha how does that game keep randomly coming up.

I dunno man. Blazblue is still Blazblue. Nerfs/buffs aren’t my problem, it’s that game’s system in general. Sounds like it’s better now with the IB nerf and how you have to faultless block more things in the air, but I dunno. Kind of a wack game. At least Tsubaki’s better, and I kind of still want to see what Platinum is like.

People don’t seem to remember that Xbox’ers had to wait two more months longer to get Valken-wolf than the PSTriplers. No matter what system you buy, your system will get screwed over while the other console gets all the candy. It happens.

By the way, I’ve realized that videogames are taking way too much time out of my life. So while I’ll still go to gatherings (the very few that we have in greensboro) I’m taking a break from playing fighting games atleast until the EZ tournament which I may not even attend due to other obligations.

This also means that I, OF ALL PEOPLE, have not touched CS2… AND I HAVE AN XBOX!!!

The game seems a lot more offensive, which is nice. I always hated the Soul Calibur feel it had, where most characters really could not run a solid offensive game, aside from a handful of stupid characters.

Looking forward to some Tekken and Arcana this weekend.

Also, selling your system just because PSN is temporarily offline seems a little overboard… Granted, I never use online except for patches/updates, but still, I can’t imagine that people can’t go without online for a month. What did you do during the PS1 and PS2 days… I will admit though, I am annoyed about the credit card thing. If Sony had the motivation to make a stronger network in the first place (like the one they are supposed to be making now…), this probably wouldn’t have happened.

I just wanna download the MK Patch, and some game DLC (costumes, blah)

Suck Fony

PSN netplay is also free, so quit whining

lol yea exactly. thats why its down

Patches of the Update to 1.01 variety should still load.

No, anyone who wants to whine about PSN is entirely justified. I’ll whine because I have a lot of things purchased on PSN that I don’t have access to, and who doesn’t like adding fraud alerts to their credit report? It sucks that because Sony shit on its security blanket that lots of people can’t play CS2, or Arcana Heart if they didn’t get it in the 2 days it was available before PSN went down.

I find it really funny that this console generation, the hardware company had software failings and the software company had hardware failings.
