The Raleigh/Durham/Cary area is the triangle. I’m in the Triad. I guess I’ll call it the “Ziad” or something since I’m holding it down.

I like it Kevin, although The House of Cheese was a RDU and more specifically a Durham “group” lol I’ll never forget that Fayetteville tourney where it looked like the entire arcade was throwing up gang signs when Wayne was fighting Moose in CvS2 Grand Finals. That was some crazy stuff.
Hmm we do need to come up with a name for our team / maybe the gathering spot here in cary. If I were a magneto player I’d call it the House of Squeeze.
Apparently Dean is doing marvel 3and mk9 tournaments at 4pm every sunday at Cape Fear Games in Wilmington, 10 dollar entry fee, no multiplier on the final pot. However, more the dudes the higher the pot. We are starting this coming Sunday with MvC3. The Sunday after that we will do Mk9. I’m expecting it to flipflop between these two.
We have some really good players here in Wilmington for MvC3.

We are only using the two in-store HD tv’s. We do not know how big of a turnout we will have. We can expand based upon turnout. If it gets big we can start adding more tv’s and more games.
Rules: Behave. The staff also wants to keep the foul language to none since there are kids there that play card games. More than likely it will be double elimination. Winner take all. Control configuration/button check allowed. Character switching allowed. I suggest using your best team since all the guys I’ve seen that play here are really rushdown oriented and leaving a hole could leave you dead if they hit you.

That list is TBD since we have a lot of players all on the same level. Also me and Tom have to win OJ from team Triangle. Yeah this Friday will be fun and will generate a lot of hype for the tournament on the 21st.
Team Triangle is Currently Me, Jon, Blake, OJ and Garret if he’s still coming and wants to be a part (haven’t spoken to him yet).

I do often pick Arcana over it, but that’s mostly because the scene for that is so much smaller and I have to get games when I can. If not, who are the 5 that round out Greenville? I feel like I belong to that group as much as anywhere.

If I’m not on Team Triangle so be it. I’ll be at the tourney and if I earn a spot then I earn a spot. If not I’ll play with whoever is left. I definitely don’t want any hand outs.

Naw its only right we all play for a spot on the team, no one is in charge of making teams here. I think we all want our area to win so top 5 should be top 5 best players in our area, regardless if we ourselves are among the top 5.

but yeah, this is why regional tournaments are often silly or just a bad idea, a somewhat recent example on a larger scale would be that SF4 one at Evo…two years ago? You can earn a spot, but not everyone will have the equal opportunity to earn the same thing. I think it might just be better if you got a bunch of 5-man teams together, not necessarily restricted by location, but possibly including those types of teams if they so wish to team together to prove something.
