NC Thread LIV: No name for this one

Just a little bit of info people…Sentinel actually does MORE damage now.

Who wants to play Guilty Gear: Shmup with me?

Now that makes sense LOL Why would he need to do more damage when he’s already killing things in one combo. Capcom just astonishes me more and more.

lolololololol

My team idea works about as well as I hoped, maybe not quite as dominating as I would like but I’m not complaining.

^ a slight bit of damage (+10k, I believe) on a couple of normals. Not like he needed it, but not significant IMO.

I think Ceron has a good point. Shiki may be right about Sent, too. Who knows - I don’t know what to believe anymore…

I saw a couple of complaints about the megamook now having bad info inside of 6 weeks. 99.9% of the info is still correct (for now)… but a valid complaint. It will be very sad if this game ends up throwing away all of it’s cred in this fashion.

Not saying this is the case here but a lot of times, known issues don’t get fixed because games have to go into certification WAY before they’re actually printed and put on the shelves, so this means there’s still a lot of testing going on after this that can’t go on the disk initially and has to wait for a title update before it gets implemented into the game.

But hey, good response time on their part if they really fixed it that fast. I imagine the Sent thing was probably planned though.

What’s the team?

I spent some time messing with Zero / Dante / Phoenix today for shits and giggles. Found a nice easy 100% with dark phoenix without x factor, does like 1.1 mil or so, little more little less depending on the starter. Also found some nice cheesy stuff I haven’t seen people using yet with the bullets from her normals. j.S is godlike if they’re grounded.

Anyways, is anybody up for gaming tomorrow night maybe around 8 or 9 to start with?

I’m still going to play Sentinel because he is my favorite character and he is still viable despite the nerf. It just means that calling him as an assist is much more risky and instant overheads are an even bigger threat than they were before. So just to clarify I have no problem with the actual patch itself, I have a problem with the precedent it sets. If Capcom is going to make a habit of releasing patches with no announcements based off of knee jerk reactions from bad players complaining online then that’s a good way to kill the competitive scene fast.

Planning on nerfing Sentinel’s health by nearly 1/3 several months before the game’s release is hella trolling.

THIS ONES FOR YOU, MORPH!!!

I mean, people thought it was Nimrod that we got,but it was just a regular Sentinel after all.

Any tourneys comin up? Anybody near fayetteville?

What cred?

Stop getting trolled by game companies, people.

A game lives or dies based on the community

With the patch- you got choices: You can either deal with it, or play something else. Capcom does not care about the opinions of a small minority.

Problem is, if you walk away from everything, you forgot how to play. I need to get my ass playing something again.
Arcana Heart in two weeks sounds like a good start.

So, a little off topic…

I’ve been playing MvC3 since launch on my xbox. Some of my friends play on PS3…I finally bought a PS3 copy yesterday and booted it up. 3 major things:

  1. I don’t care what a side by side comparison says, when the game is running in motion it looks horrible on my PS3 copy. Just muddied, pixelated, etc.

  2. The load times between screens is atrocious on the PS3. I thought the xbox pissed me off, but man that was crazy.

  3. The biggest issue of all…not only does the PS3 have an inherent 2 frame USB input lag, it’s online lag is really bad. Where as I barely noticed it when playing online through the xbox, certain moves in my combo were literally just not coming out due to the lag.

It’s a shame that Evo let Sony suck them off hard enough to force a PS3 only tourney.

/Rant off

Did you install the game to your PS3? That cuts way down on load times - I don’t even notice them.

Also, online latency has nothing to do with the system and everything to do with who you’re playing. Granted, there are fewer players on PSN (more average distance = more average latency), but latency on PSN is exactly the same as it is on XBL given that all other variables are the same. It’s not like the internet speeds up when you plug in a 360 or something.

This is hilarious. Truly classic.

Let’s go ahead and examine the quote from my mouth.

“I think Sentinel assist adds to the balance of the game because every character is viable with his assist behind them. When the blanks are better because of it, it adds to the amount of variety you see from blank, blank, Sentinel.”

You got anything else I said to fuck with, Dem O’Reilly?

You mean to tell me that Sony and Microsoft built there internet access infrastructure the exact same way? I find that hard to believe, in fact don’t some companies have trouble making MMOs on the xbox because of how safe (from hacking, not to protect the consumer) microsoft tries to keep their connections?

I can’t believe their communication protocols work exactly the same.

But maybe it is the distance from whom I’m playing, but that much of a difference?

And is the forced initial install of the game not the only install you can do? because fuck me, I hate the way PS3 does their games. Got a brand new game and you’re REALLY itching to play!!! SORRY, dur de dur, install me first…then wait for the installation to apply…THEN wait for the trophies to install…Then wait for the game to CHECK THE GODDAM TROPHY STATUS…jesus fucking christ, you’d think I wanted to play a game or something. and now you’re telling me it might work better if I install the game…further?!

360 internet works better than PS3 because you have to pay for it and they designed it differently. It’s not “faster” it’s just handled more effectively when it comes to eliminating lag for smoother playing. The installs on PS3 are minor annoyances at worst. The Blu-Ray drive CAN’T read the disc fast enough. There’s just too much data, so it has to have installs on most games to run better. But I’ll take that over the 360 reading discs TOO fast, and if you barely touch the system while a disc is spinning it puts a ring around the disc and renders it useless.

Also, no games for me this week/weekend. Work is actually busy and I’ve got a few errands to run tonight and possibly tomorrow night and I have to work Saturday. So I’m going to sit on my ass. Matt, I may be up for Friday depending on if I care enough to leave the house. Not sure yet. Probably not though, since I have to be at work earlier than normal on Saturday so I’m going to sleep early.

i blame the wii for all this, real gaming is done until the economy gets better.

you do a super in mk9 by hitting 2 buttons lol, what a joke

isn’t the Super Mega Super in MvC3 just 2 buttons too?

Also, MvC3 tourney at Play N Trade:
Play N Trade. Marvel vs Capcom 3 International Tournament

You guys complain too much. Seriously.

Also, PS3 is used at Evo because assigning controllers is a lot easier than on XBOX. That’s all there is to it really.

Is online Marvel on 360 really actually playable?

2 frame USB input lag? what?
