with sent, you can do the combo you just did but add B, jc.B, C, S
Just lay the puddle at the start of the match. Even if they hit you, you hit them and you’re left at advantage since puddle usually hits for longer than single hit moves. You can call someone while doing flame carpet, so you’re covering both bases right there.
Or you could take Hulk out of that team and put someone in with a defensive assist like Tron or Haggar if you really don’t want them on you.
You do know that Hulk’s B assist has armor right? So it’s definitely good to use defensively. Also I’ve been thinking of dropping Haggar for Tron.
Ammy’s Shuffle super is actually not full screen if the camera is fully zoomed out. That’s how I lose my Dormamu battles. ;[
Also on another note, Joe has no range but he has voomerangs for days.
Oh really? Did not know that. I wonder how many other semi invincible assists there are? I should test Ryuenjin with Zero…
lol ok… I havent been online much lately and don’t check srk very much anymore but next time I’m online just send me a message.
Allergies are kicking my ass.
Alright so I finally have a team for MvC3 that I think is really good rushdown and I wanted to know some things that some of you guys learned recently from Final Round so that I can try to apply it to my team’s play style: Rush That Shit, Nigga. lol
Magneto on point with alpha assist because I feel that since I used Magnus a lot back in MvC2 I picked him up in this game first because I felt I already knew how to play him. alpha assist with magento for this team i think is pretty good because it is really fast and allows me to play keep away when I have Taskmaster out on point. Magnus’ rushdown game is still good, but not MvC2 good because of course they had to tone him down along with several other returning characters from Marvel vs Capcom 2.
Taskmaster Assist#1 with alpha assist since it’s fully charged aim master and that comes in handy when you see someone make a mistake and you can call him out to put your opponent’s character on blast and lead into a combo afterwards. His spidey swing shenanigan bnb does around 700k (and I can do that consistently, but i want to get better of course) and I catch people very often with just back C into D sj and either j.B j.B j.D j.236C -> otg aim master super or j.A j.B j.B j.C into horizontal aim master super.
Very versatile and come on it’s fuckin Taskmaster man! Dude slashes the shit out of you then finished you off with a glock lol
Last, but certainly not least is Sentinel as anchor with gamma assist(rocket punch) for corner relaunch combos. At this time I can’t really say much about sentinel because we all know how he was and how much different he is in MvC3. He’s not at the top anymore, but definitely still a powerhouse in my opinion (as well as all the opinions of other people who hopped on the frying pan madness online…) and still very versatile in this game. His only weakness from what I have experienced is Ammy who’s Okami Shuffle isn’t too much of a threat to me imho because I already found about the times I can escape and punish the person doing the super and capitalized on that all day.
My main problem with this team is I think I don’t have enough experience with it in competitive areas, but the game is only a month old anyway.
Any suggestions or tips pertaining to this team would be great.
Completely vulnerable until the attack starts, I’m pretty sure.
Haggar Lariat assist is start-up invincible for a good chunk of it, and I think Tron Gustaff Fire might be. It’s not listed as such, but I’ve seen that assist get called out into the middle of a beam super and she still shot her fire off before getting hit.
2 problems with that team (Dorm/Hulk/Sent). The first is that Dorm is a meter hog, and he only starts with 1 of them. Therefore, I’d recommend having him 2nd or 3rd on any team, but not on point. Chaotic Flame is also an incredible super to DHC into, but not necessarily the easiest to DHC from. The 2nd is that you have Hulk 2nd, but with no OTG assist (I’m assuming you’re using Sent drones, like a sane person would). A quick OTG (Wesker, Viper, etc.) assist makes Hulk a real problem to avoid, because it lets him get damage off of airthrows along with real damage off of Gamma Tornado. Without one, he has no threatening mixup options at all. My recommendation would be to move Dorm to #2, and put a good battery up front. This way Dorm can come in and do Stalking Flames whenever he gets a chance, greatly improving his ability to threaten the opponent.
Hulk assists (B and Y) both have 1 hit of armor, but neither of them have armor on the first frame (B starts at frame 23, Y at frame 27). They’re not awful defensively, but you can’t really call them during pressure freely.
It has none. Uppercut assists are pretty ass in this game, by design I think. Shit, the normal, on point version of Ryuenjin doesn’t have any invincibility afaik.
Not using drone assist is a mistake. It’s one of the best assists in the game, and Sent finds his way onto teams he wouldn’t otherwise because of it.
Yeah, it’s invincible. I tested it vs. Kikosho and HouyokuSen, and that shit didn’t get hit at first. Wierd how the guide didn’t list it.
The most important things I learned at FR are that your final character (Anchor) needs to have serious comeback potential without an assist, and that Phoenix is by far the biggest balance issue the game has. You can’t play zoning characters against Phoenix teams and have a real hope at winning; you need to be able to apply pressure after you snap her in, or you have no chance. Sent isn’t S tier; Phoenix is there by herself.
I figured as much but I think the assists can be slightly different than the real move right? I know Tron’s gustaffe flame isn’t normally that hard to hit.
Which… may as well be a lariat. You can hit it but I don’t know where the hell the window is. People mash it in block strings the same as they do lariat and it works fine. Usually feels like you have to beam super her or something to hit her… never been able to do it with normals except like once.
Every time I hear some of you guys, specifically Matt discuss MVC3 it always makes me wanna look past what i’m seeing and play it.
Jon, didn’t I hit Tron out of it with Thor normals once? I remember you called that to my attention when we were doing casuals, think it was in Shaun’s room.
Yeah once out of like 900 times.
If it happened once, then it’s significant.
I mean, you can hit Tron. You can maybe hit her out of it DURING the fire, before it finishes, if you’re crouching under it or something or not getting hit by it. I just don’t think you can hit her before Gustaff Fire goes active for at least the first hit anyway. Of course it’s not 100% invincible from start-up all the way through recovery.
Ahh so that’s how it works? Can’t hit her before the flame but after? That explains how you can’t hit it, then suddenly get burned in the face.
Still, a really good move. Probably better than lariat IMO since it hits crouchers and doesn’t cost life… and Tron is probably better than Haggar >_>
Just from what i’ve seen and what’s known so far it seems that she’s a more solid character. Haggar has been known for having a really good assist and some nice combos overall, he definitely isn’t bad but just doesn’t seem to have the versatility that tron has at the moment but of course alot of this depends on the team and the player too.
Yeah. His meter needs are hefty My strategy has become on my first launch to team aerial combo down the line to sent, then back again to either hulk or dorm. This isn’t the most solid of strategies but it builds a nice amount of meter when The opponent doesn’t guess right. If I land it all back to dorm I can finish with his level 3 which is always nice.
As far as hulk, I love him in this game and unless gambit becomes a DLC character I’m probably sticking with this team despite it’s flaws.
And hulk actually has some trickery of his own if applied correctly. His J.l can come out twice in a normal jump arc and hit as an over head and immediately go in to cr.l. It’s hard to guess because you change the timing just a little and it only comes out once then in to low. So as a defender you just have to guess.
But after reading all of your points I may start hulk as my point for a bit with the plan to switch to dorm. I just enjoy dorm on point a lot, especially when you get on a roll he’s just nasty and annoying as hell. Would dorms purification not allow hulk to jump afterwards and continue the combo? Hmmmmm
