NC Thread LIV: No name for this one

More comp is always good. I’ma definitely try to make it to Gamefrog for at least one of the 2 days.

Back to practicing Arcana 3… Also got me a secondary character finally (Clarice). Actually just using her so I (and people playing me) can get used to her attacks. Last time Andre came to Lucky’s it seemed a lot of people were unfamiliar with her attacks (plus, I have yet to play against Clarice in AH3. lol).

There’s always gonna be shit talk. Competition does that, especially with something as “prideful” as fighting games. I remember playing tekken tag tournament back in the day and getting brushed off/ignored by other out of state players just cuz I was FROM this state lol. I do would like to see NC put up more of a fight against high level out of towners so this kind of shit talk doesn’t happen, I would rather hear about salty shit talk regarding NC and not “oh man they are so bad” shit talk but the only way that will happen is if people train harder, stop being thread monsters and come out to play.

We really need sessions that will happen no matter what so everyone has an expectation of what days they are able to play on.

Speaking of playing more, I’m getting an apartment in Cary here soon for now so I WILL host a shitton of gatherings for people to come out and play.

Who’s gonna be interested here in a few weeks?

This makes a lot of sense to me. I do think the scene is very interesting though and it makes sense that there is alot of drama because there is money on the line. It’s only my opinion, so i’m totally ok if someone says i’m completely wrong, but I feel it’s possible the current economic problems people are facing with money is also apart of the cause of the extra drama because people don’t want to lose a ton of cash or anything. I mostly agree with how you feel on this though.

You’re pretty much right in that I think we only realize because it has to do with us where as we pay attention to what people say about other states but not as much.

Yea i’m still working Zenia/Petra. I really want to see the AH3 scene flourish and I absolutely don’t want the game to die so pretty much as I told Brandino after the first AH3 tournament at gamefrog is that at every single chance I can make it to a tournament I will enter that game every time and try to teach others and encourage people to look at it in the way of “It’s not just some moe moe animu girlz doujin fighter” and more like “Wow this is a very fun game, it might have an anime style to it and even if aesthetically it doesn’t please me I think it’s worth to learn.”

I’ll play. Hopefully there will be super but I highly doubt it

I can do 2 setups probably. I have a big ass CRT, so it’ll be Marvel on the huge TV and then SSF4 or Arcana on CRT… actually I think there’s a 3rd setup too so we could really get some shit going there. I don’t know how big I wanna go on numbers though so it might be invite / permission only. Don’t want randoms showing up unexpected.

Haha, no big deal to me and I understand about numbers. I will see if I can get an Xbox to VGA adapter from a friend if there is an extra LCD monitor or I can bring mine. Just could use a few match ups that are hard to find on XBLA.

Ideally, 2-3 people at each setup would be good. I want people to play, not wait in line, and if we’re gonna get better, we gotta FIGHT.

Gatherings are fucking awful for getting better when it’s just one guy winning all night and everyone else fighting the warmed up guy when they’re not in the groove and trying to learn. Then waiting 10-15 minutes to play again? Boo to that.

I didn’t know people were so sensitive.

And I am nice. I’m a dick too.

If I smiled in your face, then said you sucked behind your back, how is that two-faced. Just because you suck… don’t block… can’t handle pressure… and have generally shitty habits as a player doesn’t mean we can’t be friends! :lovin:

For the record, I used to be waaay more wide open with my opinions of people’s games, but then I realized that most people with such huge, obvious flaws in their games usually don’t really care about getting better +otherwise, they wouldn’t have these glaring flaws), so there’s really no point in saying much…

But yeah… I strongly doubt I attacked anyone personally… probably just their game… and I really don’t understand how being nice to somebody, but thinking their game isn’t good, and sharing that info with a friend, is somehow inappropriate.

Everyone is so soft these days.

Shout out to Eric Kim on snitch mode, btw.

Wow what an asshole. Wanting to be friends with people. Wtf man?

We should take that as motivation yo

I haven’t exactly read all of the posts in this thread yet (will finish after posting).

However, here’s the problem.

I SUCK at both SSFIV and MvC3. Though I absolutely love playing both. Recently bought a TE stick and am hoping to level up over the next few months. I used to go to NC State, though now currently reside in Greensboro. Not too far away and I don’t mind driving. I’m looking for some weekend gatherings to go to in hopes of finding people to play and level myself up. I’ve a lot to learn about both games! Anything interesting going on this weekend?

How about instead of all this stuff…we play some games? And stuff? You know. Cause yeah.

Seriously though. Let’s play some games.

You still in japan? Because if not some super matches would be great on xbox.
My tag is Tiodamus

So what’s everyone talking about… never mind.

Lol Hav out of nowhere.

Brb playing some games because, as smuragi said… Yeah.

My XBL is Fingers MLD. the slowdown effect when a fireball hits has always been there, it’s not an HDR thing. Cammy is ok but you’re going to do much better with Sagat. I dabble with sagat so if we play I can show you some stuff.

If you got room, I’d be interested.

I’d be down for any gatherings, hit me up sometime.

I agree to this as well. Unfortunately right now at most I can practice with is my two other friends because of space issues but if anyones doing gatherings that are more than just MVC3 i’m interested particularly AH3 (my main game) and SSF4.
