It’s not just 30 hps, it’s about staying alive through a combo that would normally kill you. I’m not advocating using bar on the EX all the time but it can definitely mean the difference between having the chance to mount a come back and dying to the last combo you took.
For people getting pressured, what i suggest is to really try to improve your fundamentals. Make sure you are ready for your AA at ALL times. Especially in the sub 1.5k elo brackets - alot of people will try to start their combos via jump ins. It almost gets silly sometimes - non stop jump ins regardless of how many times I AA.
How do you Cancel into crit art i try to do jmk .cr.mpx2 XX mk sonic sythe into super but it never comes out or comes out late is this not possible? Help me
To be fair, my gameplay revolves around punishing my opponents mistakes more than getting in myself, but in IV you had more options to get in, i have a hard time starting anything without jumping myself in V.
I try not to jump too much myself when my opponent is on point with AA but then i’m basically reduced to hoping they jump or make a move i can punish.
Sadly haven’t had much time to play yet and not even to watch a lot of videos so i’m sure i’ll work it out in the end.
Completely agreed. Survival is a grind until you come against the AI at the end who can just ruin your day with the perfect “answers”.
I mean, I’ve got the purple that I wanted so I’m happy but it would be nice to have the other colours.
At least “Disconnected from Server” isn’t as big an issue now. Doing Survival and then getting booted was mind numbingly annoying.
Depends on where you are and what you are trying to do. Nash’ recovery improves with the stronger versions of his boom. So the HP version he recovers almost immediately and it is thus a very good projectile to throw and use to cover your approach with, but the startup is long so you should probably be at full screen or close to use it. If you are closer, the medium version would probably be more appropriate to cover your approach.
Not to mention, during your zoning game you should be varying up your strengths to throw off the timing of your opponent trying to get around the projectiles.
I use to staff people who cr.lp when you jump in or trade with them, depends on the character and your range, but you can land it with some good success on someone trying to mash light attacks. If you time it just right you can get over fireballs from long range. Also, someone who neutral jumps a lot will get caught by the medium one. (hp takes too long to wind up and I miss a bit with the lp one)
Well there’s a video thread but I’m not sure if we should leave that for high level players and tech videos
Would likely be for the best to set up a new thread - “Critique My Play” or something to that effect.
The number of times I get to the last fight and then get destroyed by frame perfect punishes that remove 40% of my HP is stupid.
The worst part is - I went to a friends house for a session on Saturday. They had no colours unlocked except for Vega and Chun Li.
I couldn’t wear my purple or the new colour I’ve found I like. (Colour 7, the yellow jacket/purple trousers)
So much effort and yet I won’t be able to use when not at my house.
Yeah the AI can get pretty damn crazy, I hate this fucking mode.
The color you’re talking about (neon yellow jacket with purple trousers) is number 6. 7 is hard mode. But yeah I feel you, I’m going to my friend’s house this weekend for some SFV and I had the same idea in mind, with the same color as well. That’s the one I’ve been using until I get the number 7 or 9 (black jacket and red trousers, and white jacket and black trousers). What’s even worse is that once I unlock Charlie’s regular look (story mode costume) I will have to try and do that again for that costume? FUCK THAT, and FUCK Capcom.
Depends on their spacing but if you react fast enough you can EX Sonic Scythe before they get behind you. Otherwise, you can either air throw or jump back j.Short (Light Kick). In the jump back option you can use a few other buttons to anti-air but Light Kick comes out fast and hits high so it’s the most reliable button in that scenario.
