Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 . The next greatest anime fighting game. Online!

That’s not true. Those were the only times I did and will ever do that. They were being really cheap and I was already mad so I didn’t feel like dealing with it. I can take a legit loss and I can take being cheated. I’ve lost 20+ games because of the same crap that they did and worse. I never quit those times, did I? I quit those 2 times because I felt they didn’t deserve the wins.

If you’re losing because of “cheap” tactics, then you need to either A) Step up your game. B) Learn to be “cheap” yourself. C) Quit playing.

You’re playing a game that is dominated by easy and frustrating tactics due to a retarded developer. You need to realize what you call “cheap” is really just smart playing.

I know. I was just annoyed with everybody intentionally being cheap. I got enough of that with SSF4. Using easy/cheap tactics to win is something I’m not even gonna consider. If I’m gonna win, its gonna be out of skill. I’m sorry if I wanna lose that way aswell.

…I think you’re playin the wrong game man

I think he’s in the wrong genre period.

Lol… okay, I get it. I was mad then, but I’m not now. I’m over it. Its like none of you ever got mad at a Fighting Game before…

I got mad MANY times before from a Videogame, sometimes threw stuff, hatemailed, but i never ragequit. its just too… pathetic -i think thats the right word for this situation-.
there were sometimes that i left in the first 10 seconds if there’s insane input delay and stuff, but even then i only did that like 2 or 3 times in all of my online playing career, and all of them were in Tekken 6 thanks to its garbage netcode.

I never ragequit before this either. This was a special case where I had zero patience. Its not like I quit because I was losing… it was because they were exploiting the game to get easy wins. I only posted it to get it off my chest. Now, lets stop talking about this…lol

The pain hinita stuff is God Like lol but after playing this for abit sasori is the man with chiyo on balanced which stuff deidara spam and kakuzu on attack or defence based upon who im fighting

Hinita/Pain combo can be done using there assists as well…

Now only if you could do the same with neji and pain

Anyways this game is ass online I used deidara/temari for most of my wins im like 25 on the leaderboards overall its to easy and some characters literally crap on others to be honest

Hinata: “That’s 75%, welcome to Konoha NIGGA!”

I have a question for you guys.

For a while now, I’ve been using TK’d/short hopped j.O to put offensive pressure on my opponent and it seems that it’s been working great most of the time, one interesting thing I’ve found is that Sasuke’s j.O (doesn’t matter which one) appears to have longer range than ordinary j.Os. If they’re doing something unsafe like mashing the O, the j.O catches them since it has longer range and it leads to a CH air combo and if the opponent blocks it, I can grab them. That’s the weird part, so what I want to know is it truly “seamless” like there’s no opening for them to escape the grab other than KnJ?

So I know nothing about Naruto and I can’t stand anime, generally, but this game looks intriguing. How do you guys evaluate this game as a fighting game on its own merits? Does it have a competitive scene?

On a competitive level i can tell you right now that its garbage, on a scale from 1 to 10 it’ll get like 3/10, and I’m being very generous there.

There are some small layers of depth within the system, like combos to Ougis, Okizeme with items, launch>support>Ougi, Puppeteers stuff etc, but the brokeness of the top characters (SM naruto, Itachi, Minato, Hinata -with Pain support-, Kiba) and the fact that all of them are braindead easy to use and master their exploits makes all the depth pointless…
there’s also the turbo Controllers BS which pretty much Breaks the whole engine and makes the game Unplayable… so yeah.
it is a fun game and its battles are just beautiful and very enjoyable to watch but i Dont think that “fun” is what you’re looking for here, am i right?

I suggest you rent it so you dont waste your money.

Is there actually a competitive community, though? Does this series have a player base dedicated to hosting tournaments on a regular basis?

One last question, if you don’t mind: is the controller the only way to play, or do the game’s mechanics lends themselves to arcade sticks?

there is no competitive community at all, and anyone trying to make this game competitive is a moron. Dont bother with an arcade stick, as you’ll need to use the control pad for items during your matches.

I’m fairly certain that somone had asked the question earlier but I’m not sure if it was answered. How do you do the tilt combos in this game?

its actually just flicking the analog then double tapping the O button, the game doesnt explain it right >_>

Synikal: i recall small communities in Cali and NY having tourneys for previous Naruto games so im guessing theyre gonna do some for this game as well, there’s also the online communities like GameFAQS (lol yeah i know) and shishi-rendan.com

i just do like a dash

like up up + B

it could be played competitive imo. some things that seem broken are avoidable like awakening’s you can always dash/support/item/kunai it. if it fails you always have a chance to run or block with assists i was playing lots of itachi who always wait for there awake then they spam amaterasu which is easy to dodge or then charge you and only spam attacks get an assists in like hidan he will stand there being hit for like 5 secs. ofc you can get unlucky and eat a full combo and maybe lose the game but really i rarely lost to someone like this the last matches i played.

things like hinata + pain combo don’t do btw. 75% dmg and you will never get this setup vs. someone who knows what’s going on.

the only broken thing imo. is KnJ SPAM they have to change that to like parry in 3s where you need a timing and no space for error’s

afterall it’s not a deep fighter but it’s fun when you get used to some things that play a huge roll in the game.

I honestly think two things need to happen:

  1. KnJ needs its cost dramatically increased (like 25% of your chakra bar)
  2. Take away the free full chakra bar when your character’s awakening becomes available.

IMHO those two changes alone would make the game ALOT more enjoyable for me, and make chakra denial a viable strategy. People would be hesitant to spam safe jutsus like Kiba’s because they would end up having little chance to KnJ when you get in dat ass. They’ll still have assists, but I’m fine with that.

All you need to do is move then left control stick in any direction and let it return to neutral/center, then hit the buttons. They did a terrible job at explaining it.

Fun game, with some of the juiciest animation and presentation I ever seen in any game.

However:

I will never complain about Ken/Ryu bandwaggons in SSF4 online again after playing Naruto’s cheap-ass dad 7 times in one brief play session. This is a great anime game with *about *as much depth as the Tenkaichi/Raging Blast series, so it’s not completely braindead and some fun can be had.

It does what it does and for that I give it a 4/5 overall.

I don’t know if they were making a point by not having a practice mode but I wouldn’t have minded it. And the booklet doesn’t tell you jack about anything important. I would love to know what the status effect icons mean without looking it up online.

Anyway, fun game. Hopefully CC could tweak the engine by UNS3 and deliver something surprising. They’re fairly close. Then again, they’re probably not really interested in creating a true fighting game anyway. I’m good either way.

Oh ho, that says quite a lot.

There’s no way in hell they “forgot” something like that in this day and age. Anyone reading between the lines should know what I’m saying.
