You can call an assist while being attacked and you can teleport out of combos.

Played around with the game and it’s quite fun but you can’t take this game seriously from a competitive standpoint. The cast is incredibly imbalanced right now. I don’t like how they took out the different assist attacks from the first game. I like that diversity but now everyone does the same attack as an assist and the only difference is the type you choose, which has it’s own merits. I think the best way to fix this game is scale the damage and make it so that you can only KnJ on block. You shouldn’t be able to KnJ on hit or a throw it’s just too stupid with mash/Turbo KnJ. The game has depth but it just gets screwed over by these flawed mechanics. Awakenings are fine but you need to balance them out among the cast. Kisame’s is just pure garbage among with other characters and other characters awakenings are just broken. Seriously, if they did just that then there would be some merit to actually attacking with O.
Right now I say Sasori is high tier more so then Itachi, imo. My team consists of Sasori, B-Chiyo, and G-Kakuzu. Kakuzu’s assist has wide spread and homing making it very hard to dodge plus he gives you cover when chakra charging. Chiyo’s assist is really good and in Balance mode that delayed shuriken assist is ridiculously good when you can just constantly spam and then stop their X-Dash with Kakuzu assist. I play super lame and just play defensive zoning because of mash KnJ and wait for them to make a mistake then just throw them with extended throw range of Sasori. Once I hit awakening mode, I get enough distance to spam his fire barrage to get a knockdown then it’s spam his puppet wave which guard breaks instantly back into a knockdown back into puppet wave.
My fun team is Rock Lee/A-Hidan/B-Chiyo. It can get some wins in ranked with awakening mode and doing x-teleport one or two hits x-teleport throw, etc… It throws off the timing on people mashing on KnJ. I suppose that’s the same thing with Minato’s awakening.

Good find! i main hidan and had a hard time hiting ougi i only used it after KnJ or vs. online spammers that charge in my ougi.
man hidan is mad fun but he’s also the best assist in the game imo. you just need 1 hit call hidan in and you can do everything ougi/team ougi or just combo with him it’s sick.

Chiyo, Kakuzu, Taka Sasuke, Chouji, Hidan and Pain are all great supports.

i am using sakura karin assist (mostly cause its like shizune’s assist in 1 but wayy better) and hidan assist because its hilarious. we dont even have all the characters unlocked and shit.

I really this game can be played competitively you just got to understand that its about gimmicks and mind games…
Stop trying to make it sf and take it for what it is and its fine. Not saying its good or balanced but it can def be played at a competitive level…
But with the crowd that it targets everything is a exploit, bug, glitch, or OP.
Game is fun, just expect to get lamed out.
Playing Ranked today, there where 3 people that really pissed me off.
1 Guy who turtled with Pain until the time ran out and only used throws and assists. He would literally Chakra Dash into a throw or both his assists. I got pissed so I quit.
Another Guy who obviously was using Turbo stood there, waited, and KnJ’d out of everything I attempted then hit me with Rasengans. Quit that time aswell. I wasn’t gonna deal with that.
The last Guy used Itachi. He avoided me the whole fight only using assists and fireballs. Then activated his awakening when his health got low and beat me.
I’m 72-30 now and almost all of my losses come from people like that.
Haha, people online in this game are hilarious, I was fighting someone using Deidara, I don’t really know the character but they were only using projectiles i gusss? I literally just did ninja jump sideways dodging everything when I had a life lead until time over.
I don’t know how you can do it for so long and not notice it wont hit
Team Selection Variables
So, you pick for main and you pick your assists. You can pick two different assists for a three-man team or just pick the same one twice for a two-man team so that you can use that one with greater frequency. On the select screen are three stats that correspond to your assist choice. You can make special teams by putting certain combinations of character together, and this is symbolised by a special team name given on the select screen, such as Team 7 when putting Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke together. The team stats are:
Power (Red) - This determines the strength of your Team Ultimate Jutsu. Landing a team jutsu with nothing for this stat will do default damage, which equates to the damage of the combo plus default damage for the Ultimate Jutsu following it. Having a max stat for this will double the damage of the team jutsu.
For example, landing Sasuke’s Amaterasu will cause roughly 25% life with no power stat when used as part of a Team Jutsu but will do 50% damage with a max power stat. This can be done by teaming up Sasuke (Taka) as the main and Sage Naruto as the assist.
Speed (Blue) - This determines the rate at which the assist bar refills after use. Default refill speed for a two-man team is roughly 8 seconds but, at max, this is halved to 4 seconds.
Drive (Purple) - This determines the rate at which the drive meter is filled via calling assists and causing damage with assists. At zero with a two-man team, this takes 6 successful assist attacks to fill to max. With the stat at max, it takes 4 successful assists. The rate at which it fills from other auto-assists also increases in accordance with the stat.
For example, if the Drive Meter is at lv1 and you have a G-type assist, you can get the meter to lv2 by initiating a Chakra Charge about three times if you have max Drive stat.
Each special team has extra stat boosts that you wouldn’t normally get, and this boost also changes in accordance with who you have as the main and the assist.
For example, Sasuke (Taka) as the main and Sage Naruto as the assist will give you:
