Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 . The next greatest anime fighting game. Online!

Also, the Ougi Cancelling ‘glitch’. Gaara’s AI has it hard coded into him when you fight him, and WILL do it if he has the meter. The devs blatantly know about it.

Love it.

Why do they even bother calling him Tobi? Might as well put him as Mandara and call it a day.

so, my ultimate question is, is this game deep enough to attract players for a while, deep like sf4?. If it is, then its a day 1 buy for me

I’ve asked this question on other websites and all of them have told me that the deepest thing in the game is some mindgames. You’re not going to find anything like 1 frame links, option selects, etc in Naruto.

isnt temari like a really weak character in 1

someone please explain MEW!!! mew mew mew mew MEEW! >< to me

I had not planned on picking up a copy of this game, but after seeing gameplay of it, it is convincing me to pick one up. I never played Ultimate Ninja Storm 1, but I did play the demo that came out a few weeks ago. If I do get it tomorrow, I’m probably going to trade-in BlazBlue for it, because the game hasn’t really interested me that much. The last Naruto game I played prior to the demo was Clash of Ninja Revolution 3 for the Wii, and I liked that game a lot.

just beat the game. really liked the story modus. still need to unlook lars, taka sasuke and hachibi though.

yeah, kawarimi no jutsu should definitely drain you much faster.

LOL

this game had like NO depth, if thats what you’re looking for then i suggest you look for another game. It is, however, a lot of fun to play and looks very awesome.

prepare to be disappointed. CoN>>>>>>>>>> UNS by far.
whats wrong with BlazBlue :frowning: ?

It is? What makes CoN better than UNS based on your own experience? I have tried to play BB, but I’m just not getting into the game very much as I am with SSFIV. I find myself playing SSFIV literally 90-95% of the time on the PS3. I’ve tried doing the trials on BB, and it’s just difficult for me. The tutorial does help a lot though, since I never played CT. I’m still debating whether I should get the game or not. I was planning on not making another purchase until MK9 next year (I already paid MvC 3 in full).

yep.

I second this especially having come from playing tenkaichi a lot…I felt teleporting in Tenkaichi took a bit more skill and timing since normal strings in that game couldn’t be teleported. I bought the game tonight during the midnight launch and popped my copy into the 360 and played a few rounds with the people there to try to get used to the controls and the way the game plays. It’s certainly fun but I can’t see myself taking this game anywhere past casual right now.

From a serious play perspective, it’s just not there. However, that’s not to say you can’t play it, enjoy it and certainly get better at it. I just don’t think it’s the kind of game where you pick a character and hardcore learn everything about it as there isn’t that much to learn really apart from the few combos each character has. I am interested if there is any actual difference between minatos dashes with them ‘appearing’ to be teleports. Are they actual teleports or just animations for his dashes? I guess the latter? Though he’s still fun as shit to play porting all over the place.

My favourite character to play so far is Lars… He seems to do a ton of damage followed by Kakuzu for his good spread fireball and long ass reach ultimate jutsu. Not to mention in awekening he just shoots fire and wind jutsu’s all over the place lol.

So what do you guys think of the music? The Konoha-gakure theme is pretty relaxing =)

The music is good, but I just don’t understand why they can’t fork out a little money for the proper Naruto soundtrack.

Guys remember rush that shit down.

The only flow chart that matters:

Does your opponent have chakra for ougi?

YES: …then BACK THE FUCK OFF!!!

NO: …then get deep in that ass.

hahahah this^^^ That’s why I want to know if the items disabling chakra have made a return.

Also nobody should take this game as a serious fighter, but it is still fun. I treat it like the Smash series. I never take those game seriously (I play with all items and any stage lol). I don’t give a flying fuck about competitive Smash, but they are ALWAYS a day one purchase for me.

I haven’t bought it yet but I do plan to purchase it later today.
I was wondering, like Bronzefist said, is it pretty similar in gameplay as the Smash series?
It doesn’t take a genius to see that it doesn’t carry the same amount of depth as SSFIV, but I’d love to pick up a more casual/party fighting game like Smash for the PS3 since sometimes when I have people over, they don’t want to nerd out over the intricacies of SSFIV like I do.
And I did enjoy Smash too…

Oh yeah, she was really bad (probably the worst character in the game in a competitive point of view), but her chakra seal item made her… i dunno, less bad? If you managed to get your opponent’s health to his last life bar, you could guarantee a win by hitting the chakra seal and rushing that shit down without getting punished.

I’ll see how she does this time around later today. Hopefully she has some cheap shit to exploit like her NA2 version.

The Naruto soundtrack is ass, anyways.

CoN has alot things done better than UNS.
First thing is probably that it has actual combos and juggles and that are actually useful. the game having 2 attack buttons already adds alot more variety than what UNS has to offer, which is just mashing OOOO all day to get a useless combo which you’ll get KnJ’d out of and punish for like no chakra at all…
The most important 2 things CoN has UNS beaten in though are probably the KnJ chakra amount, which cost alot in CoN (3/4 of the Ougi bar) where in UNS it costs like 1/10000 of the bar… and the Y cancelling (i’m not sure which one is CoNR3 as i played the japanese versions, but im sure its in there) in which UNS has nothing like that to offer.

UNS is fun and all and i STILL play it from time to time with my friends, but in all honesty CC2 focused too much on the aesthetic shit in this game and left the engine too shallow and clunky which is a real shame coz the UNS series is really fuckin’ beautiful and one of the best looking games I’ve played.
They made everything universal which made all the characters feel the same ala tenkaichi. Like seriously, all the characters have the same length of OOOO combos, they do the same damage, they have the same functions (down OOO for knockdowns, up OOOO for launches etc), they are all useless (aside from a select few which are the top tiers lol). Hell most of them look REALLY similar too unless its a slow ass character (Chouji) or someone who cant use taijutsu (Gaara, Deidara).
Another bad thing in the UNS series is that it makes the anime plot effect how good the characters are, you can really see that some characters have some insane advantage over characters that dont do much in the series anymore, eg: Deidara vs Ino, or Pain vs Temari, or even Killabee vs…anyone. The matches are soo one-sided its not even funny, and even if the other character gets the broken character down to the last health bar, as soon as they awaken its GG. Seriously Itachi’s Susonoo and KillaBee’s Hachibi are laughebly beyond Broken. as soon as the awakening happen its becomes a 10-0 matchup no matter who you’re using or how much health you have left. Its quite sad :frowning:
I dont recall anything that biased in CoN series though, all the characters had chance no matter who they fought, maybe the transformed characters, itachi and Hiroku Sasori were a bit dumb but it was still not as bad as UNS has it.

FYI: if this game by some sort of miracle happened to be taken seriously I’m calling it right now, Minato and SM Naruto (and possibly Deidara, itachi and Sasori) are gonna be BANNED.

My PS3 died a while back with my SSF4 stuck inside and I’m too stubborn to buy a new one. Waiting on my own copy even though it’ll probably never come.Seriously, how long does it take to mail a friggin game back?!!

I’ll definitely be getting this soon but I might wait for Vanquish first.

:badboy:
