the split screen is what MAKES a game like this WORK. have the perspective from BOTH players, and NOT just player one (which is by far the most retarded ever).
Tenkaichi > UNS ONE MILLION TIMES OVER…simply on playability/controls alone.
i played the demo to ninja storm1 and the game was fun… the psp version of these naruto fighting games are suprisingly great for what it is.
play the first UNS demo (that includes versus) and check again. Any player can be in the foreground during matches

and it’s not hard to gauge distance from the background. Thousands of others will be playing online without even thinking of the camera as a problem.
Adapt and you’ll see how easy it is to play with this camera.

I just realized Kurenai isn’t in this game. Not a huge loss, but a loss indeed. With her the character roster would’ve been perfect. But maybe she’ll come via DLC…maybe.

A good fighting game can/should be/become competitive. Presentation is also a very important aspect of what makes a fighting game good.
A bad fighting game should be played for fun. If the presentation is shitty, of course no one will play.
GNT4, NA2, and Rev3 are very good fighting games. Regardless if there are Naruto characters and simple controls, the depth is there.
This is going to be an awesome 1 player game to pass the time with.

After watching some of the vids on the site Hinata looks pretty good or maybe the player playing her is good. Is she doing Shugohakke Rokuj?yon Sh?? or is she doing Hakkesh? Kaiten? I guess it’s the first as it A. looks quite different and B. I don’t think she can do the heavenly spin (or at least not seen her do it nor is it listed on narutopedia as it being a technique she can do… which is strange).
i just hope shit like 3/9/whatever tails Naruto isnt available as stand alone characters. I dont looking forward to fighting them online especially if they do crazy damage like in the first game. They need to be regulated to awakening modes only.
Best Naruto fighter was GNT3/4. N:UNS is just a 3D version of the NH series, which wasn’t too great in the first place. Instructions include “Mash O” to attack. Seriously. Unless UNS2 ditches the old mechanics that have plagued the series for the last 5 or so iterations, this game will be pretty to look at, but that’s about it. It’s a real shame because the graphics are fucking gorgeous.

Just need to say that there’s nothing wrong with the camera in this game. There’s advantages and disadvantes to being on either side and you can actually build a strategy depending on which side you’re on.
I’m not fond of the camera system but it does seem to be manageable in this game.
I will have to play these game (including original) thoroughly before I decide to play it competitively or not. But with the direction its going. I don’t expect a scene or healthy community with this game.
This may be a fighting game but its hybrid of mechanics will be difficult to regulate proper standards for competitive aspect. The scene would be weaken by split communities. NUNS series does not seem ready for that.
If you watch one of the videos posted that’s on the official website, it shows naruto turns into the 3/4 tails (can’t remember) as a timed power up. It doesn’t last a long time and seemed to do balanced damage considering. Naruto still lost even with doing this.
like i said. naruto games are for fun only. expecting balance or etc is just setting yourself up for fail. i’m pretty sure the developers wasn’t thinking of trying to make this game into a competitive fighter.
