no way. That’s like saying “This Amusement Park would be better if it was just me and a Ferris Wheel.” :annoy:
That would be dumb, considering this game already has a complete story mode. The Versus Mode and Network modes bring this game’s value and fun factor by 200%.
Naruto games with only a single player mode aren’t worth buying full price. Maybe renting, but versus and online play really will take this sequel to much greater heights, even despite not meeting some elitists standards, it will be deep enough for many that like the system and understand that skill is still required to beat other skilled players.
This isn’t some randomized competitive system like Hungry Hungry Hippos. :razzy:
It’s great they designed this as a fighting game because that’s what most people love above UNS games and the 3-D freedom and the fighting closer to the anime like the DBZ Tenkaichi series took things to greater and more authentic anime levels. Also making it stand out more from the SF clones and other fighting games systems.
You’ll need much more than the O button to beat the best players out there who learn and master the system, and even then, it will be full of mindgames and skill based timing, tactics and more!
Thats fine, if you want to pick sakura and put booby traps everywhere, honestly speaking, its these type of cheap actions by players that leads to the furthering of the community, I mean, its easier to share and learn as a community when we can play online and share experiences in forums etc. But UNS1 was basically like playing SF2 back when there was no internet. Players didn’t have a community or way to learn and grow so its like we were all stuck in some little world. It took so much time for videos to get around so players can learn what others were doing. I think people will be surprised at how much fun and how competitive this game will become. You can smash O all day if you want, but I think the culture of the game will definitely change once people start learning more about the system.
As it was previously stated, almost ne thing could be “competitive”, and its near fact that this game is pretty…silly, especially the first one. fans will love it, others will hate it, and as a “fighting” game it cant compare to games like street fighter. tho to some people it is better, for reasons like it being easier so their better, or they lose in street fighter alot for reasons they don’t want to look over.
But really, its just a naruto game, i dont expect much, but ill prolly play it, tho i have watched some pretty hard-core *used loosely im afraid* fights from UNS 1. from players like rockman, and forte. tho ill have to check if forte actually played that. either way, u can you tube that kind of thing, and it will probably pop up.
Oh yes definitely! This will be the beginning of a new community and fanbase thanks to NS:UNS2’s improvements, Network mode, UNS1 veterans, Naruto fans, and fighting fans that want something different and more amazing combat and presentation from what’s out there.

new video! behind the scenes of the art/animations/etc.
Which is bullshit. Whats the point of even having ‘combos’ if you have to worry too much about being countered while performing them. One of the reasons I HATE burst moves, but at least in other games there’s a limit to that shit.
High level players still mash the srk in SF4. Why use timing when you can mash and get more chance for success. The funny thing is, there is no risk when mashing teleport during a combo, that shit can’t be baited like high risk srks.
i played the demo. it was fun, in the way that metal gear solid interactive cutscenes are fun. but i couldnt see this being a fighting game at tourneys and stuff or ever trying to take it seriously
we aren’t talking about him being hella good (at least im not) his sand shower assist is pretty good but just the weird part about teleporting his attacks
and yeah its all about range tenten and shit etc
and i cant imagine chakra subs being a problem anymore, its not crazy abuseable anymore now normal shit that should be safe (not chakra dash) will only be unsafe when people have like full meter instead of all the time
also why are you guys talking about mashing circle
I do know that KnJing (that’s what we’re talking about, right?) costs alot more meter than in the 1st game, so if someone KnJs a shit ton then they will be outta chakra fast.
I’ve pre-ordered the collectors edition (was only £7 more), mainly because I wanted the artwork. You get minato from the get go aswell, woop. Dunno why y’all arguing like whiney 10 year olds… It’s a game, if people wanna play it casually or competitively then so be it what the fuck difference does it make to you lol?
they are a bit more social with video game playing thats why. over here if its not online only a handful of people will get good, and those are the ones who can be bothered to meet up and improve, another reason is england has a hardcore collection of snob players so growth only happens to the few
the demo was not a direct representation of the actual combat for competitive play, it just demonstrated a boss battle, which adds and removes some rules from the core versus gameplay.
You would take it more seriously if you are fighting players that are more experienced with the fighting system instead of A.I.
But ya whether high level competition or casual play, people will have fun with NS:UNS2 unlike any other fighting game out there on consoles.
It seems some players got the game early this week.
