Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2.0 - Storm 4 Is Out! (PS4/Xbox One)

Us over at AB are thinking of banning Mecha Naruto(Awakening groove) because people feel if used right, he is near unbeatable. I personally disagree and think we should wait, what about you guys

Hey, Arashi Board. What’s the tier list looks like for you guys ?
I don’t know. Since my connection is crap, I don’t play online. Can’t really say myself. But Awakening Groove MechaN is definitely a force to be reckoned with.
nevillebamshew : On what plateform a you playing. I have yet to encounter this kind of situation on PC.

Playing on PC.

While I don’t think banning him this early on is really warranted, I was thinking to myself the other day how insanely good he is on A Groove. He might even be the best character in the entire game. I mean, he has one of the best dashes when awakened, access to an instant projectile jutsu AND a Rasengan-Type jutsu, unpredictable movement animations, one of the best grabs in the game…and then he has that unbelievable True Awakening. Which is so quick and has so much priority, I haven’t seen a character that can really stand up against it. From personal experience, if the other player lets me Awaken as Mecha Naruto, it’s pretty much game over.

A Groove Mecha Naruto seems to be, in this game, what Kokonoe is in Chronophantasma. Or what Jin was in Tekken 4.

How strong do you think Neji is in this game? I have picked him up with Gaar’a Dad and Darui as assist to extend combos. I think the combo system in this game is very easy to mess around with. chakra cancels are like the beginner version for focus cancelling

Yeah, the combo system is by far better than any other UNS game so far. It’s insanely flexible and let’s you do pretty much anything you’d want, which is fantastic. Comboing into ultimates is a LOT more feasible now but still balanced considering they got a huge damage nerf. But the damage nerf is ok considering how easy it is to get snagged by an ultimate now.

Haven’t messed with Neji yet, but he’s probably still pretty damn good. If you’re trying to go for optimal combo damage, I would go with A Groove so you can switch back and forth between states and keep comboing. It’s also REALLY good for applying pressure on block. Neji’s combos hit with a lot of intensity, so he really likes applying close up and in-your-face pressure, and he’s damn good at it too.

Plus A Groove Neji has longe range attacks in True Awakening, not much but it can help sometime. That and the chakra drain.

What did they do to Gaara? He’s slow as shit and has no range whatsoever. It was disappointing as hell to pick him and witness that revelation.

Welcome to every Gaara in every UNS game ever

Gotta play him pragmatically, I usually just go with Hinata and Neji as assists. You can win without even moving. Lol.

I don’t recall him being this slow in any other game. He was never a generally quick character, but it feels like this game straight shit on him.

Gaara is just a good A Groove character, both awakenings are good enough.

There are still characters who are support-only? This is supposed to be a huge, over-the-top battle royale to see who’s the best ever… Why?

So…

Activating Kakashi’s tilt (Kamui) while the opponent is in blockstun breaks the opponent’s guard for a few frames. Having an assist overlap with an active attack will then hit them. You can do this with any assist; the properties of Kamui is what makes it happen.

In a similar fashion, Pain and Nagato’s combos where they summon the lizard/gekko-type creature has the same properties on block. The summon itself seems to cause it. It’s extremely tight and specific but you can put them in blockstun, call assist (preferably Anko) and then just confirm into UJ.

I have a feeling any attack with with no hurtbox can cause this pseudo guard break.

As for easy (actual) guard break setups:

Obito w/Madara (Reanimation)

  1. Down combo > call assist > CUJ - simple as that. Doesn’t do a huge amount of damage (maybe about 25%) but it’s guaranteed as soon as they block the first hit.

  2. Tilt > call assist > Jutsu - Puts them one melee hit and one c/shuriken away from guard break. If you have the bar, just do CUJ and it’ll guard break into about 30%.

Martian hit me with that earlier… I was furious lol.

We also ran into what I assume was a glitch… I used the Team Ultimate Jutsu with Minato w/ Hashirama & Tobirama. He blocked Hashirama’s dash but, instead of the two followup attempts, Hashirama just kept slamming into his guard until it was about to break. He noticed and tried to dash out, but got hit. Don’t know what the hell happened, but it was funny as shit lol.

We are just sorting out what characters are confirmed competitive and those with potential, anyone not listed is just irrelevant or hasnt been tested.

Counter combos can do marvel level of insane damage thats something that is really shaping the meta, get countered then suddenly your playing marvel

That Shino player !!!

some interesting tech in that vid, pretty good match, even tho they seemed to be trying to be too fancy but whatever

That’s impressive. Shino is pretty hard to use effectively compared to a lot of the cast.

Does this game have any perks for picking signature teams like the previous ones? Teams having special names seems a bit pointless otherwise.

Official Teams have faster cooldown, IIRC. I know in UNS3 some had more attack power, guarded you more often, ect ect if you picked certain teams. But I can’t tell if any of those factors come into play in Revolution.

There’s also some who have Team Ultimate Jutsu’s, but that was probably obvious.
