Generations collide…likely going to get this for the PS4.
I’m probably going with the PS4 version too. I’ll have to remind myself later to add you when I get home so we can do some matches come Febuary 9th.
I haven’t really got into a storm game since generation and am also new to playing games online, so I have some questions. 1: Do the Storm games generally run well online. 2:Was Danzo still amazing in revolution. 3: Is Adult Shickamaru still one of the worst characters in the game. 4: Has Jugo been updated(C.M. Lv.2) yet. 5:Is there any real competitive scene for Storm
Guys what platform am I buying this on. I can’t fucking believe I’m at a point in my life where I’m trying to comparison shop for a Naruto game. Help
- The series has alright netcode: it’s not know for it’s netcode (Killer Instinct) but it manages better than others i would say (Mortal Kombat 9). As with most online games, your own internet speeds make a huge difference.
- Danzo was at his best when he first appeared (much like most character’s with their first appearance) in Generations, back when he could combo Ninjutsu -> Knockback -> Ninjutsu -> Knockback -> Pop Sharingan Item for Chakra and land Ultimate. This is not possible in later versions as far as my knowledge goes, which I recall testing this a lot. However, in Revolution they gave his Awakening Mode an Insta-Kill (it can be avoided, but if you catch them without a sub they are dead at any amount of health), but it also requires 2 Subs of your own otherwise it’s a suicide. His other bumper in Awakening is…yep, instantly gaining two subs. Convient, no?
- TS Shikamaru isn’t that bad of a character, most peeps are just used to his Storm 2 variation in which the chakra dash hitstun was super strong so landing a chakra dash with nearly full chakra meant landing an Ultimate. Once they nerfed the hitstun on chakra dashing, he no longer has easy raw damage like that so know he is a more defensive character to punishing and sets up.
- No, and likely never will be. Seriously, we are just no getting the Sound Four in Storm 4, and it’s through a DLC paywall.
- Once again, no, and likely never will be. I made posts about this before in this forum, but the nature of the Storm community is so toxic to all the ideas that back fleshing out the meta of a game that it can never grow into something that the FGC would support. They see it as just a button-masher backed by salty raging plebs who insult and shame those who try to break the game and play to win, which is accurate.
Yeah the community for this game/series aren’t about that life. They just wanna slam on buttons and play Sasuke bruh, I got countless hatemail and ragequits when I played just coz I did combos and strats that weren’t just mashing OOOO and throwing out random specials…
Before the switch to Storm there was a community (sort of) that took the games seriously and ran tournies and what not, however Storm’s over-simplification/change drove most of those heads away aside from the super hardcore Naruto fans.
You can tell they’re trying to make the game a bit deeper (eventhough it’s pretty hard with how limited the game’s system is) so I’m interested in how Storm 4 turns out.
My last serious attempt at the series was Storm 2, I’ve followed the ones after for system changes and played a bit. After the puppeteers got hit pretty hard I lost interest, but I’ve seen their attempts to add interesting mechanics and make the game less derp; the awakening types being split, more balancing for the assists, chakra dash cancels and adjustments, adding the sub limit and it’s own meter, adding the counter mechanic and tweaking it etc etc.
So hopefully the game’s fun enough to be worth sticking around for.
I’m getting the game on steam (and maybe Xbone as well if i like it enough), when the game arrives i’ll add some of you peeps to get some decents games in

I don’t think we’ve really seen any footage of Jugo in Storm 4 yet, so who knows maybe they actually did give him some changes. I wouldn’t hold my breath though.
Other characters have gotten small changes in Revolution, like gen 1 Naruto and whatnot.
