I don’t understand why so many readers of the manga talk bad about the author. Is this some kind of trend? It’s his creation and its damn good considering how long its been running. I feel like people criticize him because something happen they weren’t expecting and hate him for it, but still read the manga on a regular basis. Whats the deal? Do you guys know how hard it is to keep up a series that centers a character that can only get stronger to fight opponents who can only get stronger? The toughest part is that he does it on segments. Its not a novel where he can go back and change something when he thinks of something clever. There’s no way he has the foresight to see Tsunade’s revival and Kabuto’s resurrection of someone important during the early life of the series. Again, its his universe.
Its similar to not liking someones music and talks crap about them but listens and sings to their album in the car. Guess what? … you like like it. “Don’t bit that hand that feeds you.”
So…because you like something you have to ignore the faults in it??

Do I know how difficult it is…yes I do actually. The difference between a good writer and a bad writer is knowing how NOT to write yourself INTO a hole…and maintain consistency. I don’t think anyone has had an issue with power levels really…despite the on set of ‘uber powered people’, they all fall in the shadows of people mentioned WAY back in the series. Madara’s position was hinted at during the VoTE fight with the statue against the First, that alone should say something, or the fact that Naruto was chasing the Kage’s tails…of all things he’s done a good job handling relative power levels. We can moan and groan about how Neji doesn’t get screen time or Rock Lee, but the main character at this point is Kage level, as is his ‘yang’, so its those characters that deserve the focus, the focus of ide characters like Rock Lee is to help move the story foward, not to be the story. The main complaints tha I’ve seen from folks really center around
- Inconsistency/holes
- Sasuke being such a dominant character storyline wise to the point Naruto himself disappeared from his own Manga for like a year.
- Side characters not getting enough time
- Sharrigans
In reality, #3 happens because of #2, and #2 happens because Sasuke represents Naruto ‘yang’, so to grasp the full depth of Naruto, he’s using his opposite as a reference point, but that point has to be built up.
#4 is the most annoying trend, but it exist because of #1…there existed a hole in the playing field as there was no way to make anyone who should be able to rival a jinchurriki in power…they would need a special ability, hence something like the sharrigan. If you remove the sharrigan, is there anyone in the manga who would be able to approach jinchurriki strength? Naw, it would be a hole, but the sharrigan is the dirt to fill it up.

Great point, but let me add this. I wouldnt say that without sharingan, theres nothing in this manga that would rival the strength of a jinchurriki. Other members of the AKs were perfectly capable of taking them down (capturing is harder than killing) without sharingan. Itachi didnt even get one. Now yes the jinchurrikis are powerful, but in term of real fearful power are only the 8 and 9 tails demon, and thats because KB is the perfect host of the 8 tail, otherwise kisame might have taken him out. And kyuubi is just all mighty.
It all depends on the host of the demon and their ability to harness the power, and same about other ninja and their respective abilities. Like itachi said, “a normal stone thrown will not kill, but a master stone thrower can kill a weak kunai throw,” something along those lines.
Id would be perfectly fine with sharingan maxing at 3 tomoes, that alone gives the user excessive advantage. MS abilities are ok as well, with its potential side effects, but to be able to shut down the tail demons was unnecessary.
If we go rewind a bit, orochi and pein successfully dealt with kyuubi, but PNJ saved naruto.
What I find funny… people who don’t have lives, HATE IT… yet STILL read the manga

We can’t really say any of that. I only recall a couple of tailed beast being taken down and us seeing ANY portion of it in the Manga…Deidara vs Gaara, and I think Kakuzu and Hidan were the tail end of the chase for the 3 tails. Outside of that…correct me if I’m wrong but we have no real referecne as to the relative strength of them all, especially matched against each other. Sure logic would dictate each tail is progressivly stronger, but there is nothing verifying that. As well, Deidara verse Gaara was a mis-match straight up…a earth guy fighting in the air? Also acting as the Kage and saving the village?..meh. Kisame’s capture? Dude has a broken power absorbing thing essentially giving him the title of no tailed beast. Pein? No sharrigan…but he had pew pew that supposedly ‘surpass’ the sharrigan. I’m not trying to discredit akatsuki, but even the easier to capture dead verse alive thing is void in this…plain and simple the sharrigan is Kishi’s tool to create someone on *par *with a tailed beast.
And Oro would only really beat Naruto not Kyuubi Naruto. He just straighted Aizen’d the shit out of Naruto. And Pein would have lost to 9T IMO…if the 4th hadn’t interferred Pein would have been KILLED. But thats theory fighter and opinion…

shrug once the concept of killing became some what ‘acceptable’ in the series, the idea of ‘children’s’ vanished. adult? Not by far, but IMO its aimed at the teen market at this point.
