I really liked this chapter, its trying to point to a return to the original essence without abandoning where we’ve been…
I thought that other’s had successfully gotten EMS, just none had survived as long or are still around…MAdara’s strong life force is the sole reason he’s still ‘floating around’.
I’m bored with Sasuke’s character design, as his “raison d’etre” keeps changing for convienance. His motivation is just too wild at the moment…He’s almost the anti-thesis to Aizen - he has the ‘power’ to rape, but I question his thoughts and mental stability. I love him finally ggetting EMS though, it means that Naruto is invariably getting a power boost, between Naruto in a very nice way saying that ‘Sasuke would wreck all your shits’ to the rest of the R9, he admitted himself tat he prolly couldn’t go toe to toe with him right now. This will force Naruto to train HARD…the question is what is going to come out of it. Are we going to see Naruto read scrolls and shit to figure out a plethora of new jutsus so he can finally reach J-Man teir with regards to ‘pulling effective shit we haven’t seen out his ass’ powers, or is he going to learn the flash step shit from his pops, or is he going to just doe a raw power upgrade via Kyuubi sit down with some coffee and cupcakes. We know its coming as the yin-yang growth they both have, and I’m leaning towards teleportation for two reasons…a) NAruto is going to lose the 9T at some point, more than likely Tsunade wil lsave him and Kakashi can fall for the bait again…so I doubt they will actually ever cooperate…b) with the yin-yang nature of Sasuke and Naruto’s growth, I’m fully expecting Naruto’s next leap to be from or based on something his Father left for him…which could be the Kyuubi, or it could be the teleportation hijinx.
Good point. Now that you bring it up, how effective is Gaara now without his demon? Like…how much of his chakra was being donated from the demon, versus being his own?
But this is the mother of all free power ups, it takes little to no effort to have eyes transplanted to you in narutoverse. Unless naruto some how gets free power up in his sleep than sasuke continuous easy power up shits all over naruto’s.
Still pretty effective and at least 10 top in teir. Cant really say how much power he lost from losing his demon, but see how he easily manuvred around amaterasu hes and saved the kages at the summit hes equal or stronger than before.
Anyway, the chapter was decent. Its good to see Naruto is finally being recognized as the man amongst his peers. Even though he has mad homo tendencies
Those are just the only users we’ve been told about. Recall Itachi’s history lesson, lots of Uchha were killing their closest friends for the Mangekyou Sharingan for generations, lots of Uchiha were trying to repeat Madara’s success. We know that Madara’s been the only one to obtain the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan, but where do you see any implications of other Uchiha failing to awaken the Mangekyou Sharingan?
Plus, Madara also pointed out that it’s rare for a Mangekyou Sharingan user to be able to use Susanoo. If he were basing that soley on the users we know of currently, that wouldn’t make too much sense now, would it?
That may have been true for young pups like Sasuke, but not the older Uchiha. Rikudou Sennin’s tablet underneath the Naka Shrine, where the Uchiha met frequently, was supposed to describe the Mangekyou Sharingan’s secrets.
I don’t think the secrets of the Mangekyou were all that scarce amongst the Uchiha, they were just taboo. Everything about the Mangekyou Sharingan treads on the darker spectrum of Kinjutsu.
… I’m having trouble understanding how you could come to the conclusion that “many sacrifices” could come down to a lone corpse, before Konoha’s founding even, and not several power hungry Uchiha over the past few generations between Madara’s time, and Sasuke’s.
How exactly does that make sense to you?
[*"We still don’t know why Madara(and now Sasuke, thanks to Madara) has been the only one to successfully acquire the power of the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan. Itachi said that members of the Uchiha clan have attempted to repeat Madara’s success many times, and failed. The one thing that was unique about Madara(which Sasuke shares), is that uncommonly strong eye power/chakra; that probably has something to do with it.
The combination of the Mangekyou Sharingan’s Tomoe Seals could easily be explained by the new hosts Seal overlapping with the Seal of the eyes’ former owners. I don’t recall any instance where it’s been suggested in even the slightest way that the eyes are somehow smashed together. It’s always been described as an exchange.
That’s exactly right, actually. I’m sorry I didn’t point that out before.
If you take into account that Mangekyou Sharingan users should’ve been very scarce, and that the exchange could only be done with immediate family(and what’re the odds of two siblings having the Mangekyou Sharingan?), it would make plenty of sense how Madara and Sasuke have been the only success stories even with just those two conditions.
He said just before Sakura confessed to him that he wanted to extend the time limit for his Sage Mode. So I’m betting on Hiraishin next. Still think that’s the perfect solution to his problem, and Hiraishin would suit him very well during combat.
Taming the Kyuubi/the “Key” will probably come at a later time, maybe when he meets Killer B.
Since Shuukaku was likely responsible for the automatic Shield of Sand, he should’ve lost that.
Other than that, Gaara should’ve been largely uneffected. He avoided using his Jinchuuriki transformations, and there’s been nothing to suggest that Shuukaku provided him with any other passive benefits other than the Shield of Sand. Having the Ichibi sealed within him all those years is the likely reason for his large well of stamina(which has always been 4-5 like Naruto’s, who has so much for the exact same reason), but that should’ve remained even after he lost it.
He should’ve just jacked orochimaru’s, as doesn’t oro’s have special properties or whatever? Obviously that’s not possible now
but I wonder what Naruto’s talking about that was in Sasuke? As obviously he didn’t have the EMS when they fought, so I wonder what Naruto was scared of?
That’s how most of the fans would tell it. But there really hasn’t been any official word on the matter.
Sasuke’s Kusanagi no Tsurugi apparently has a particularly dangerous edge like Orochimaru’s. The other abilities Orochimaru’s used with his Kusanagi no Tsurugi–extending it, transforming it–could be techniques applied to the blade, rather than unique abilities of the blade itself–similar to Kuu no Tachi(the Ninjutsu Orochimaru used against Hiruzen to levitate and control it).
But then, seeing as how the Totsuka no Tsurugi is also supposed to be a type of Kusanagi no Tsurugi with a built-in Fuuinjutsu, I wouldn’t be surprised if those abilities really were unique to Orochimaru’s blade.
Well, he does have Itachi’s eyes now…
But seeing as how Sasuke has pretty much thrown away most of his connections to Orochimaru, I don’t even think having Orochimaru’s blade would suit him. Just having a sharp edge is enough, and he has his Chidori Eisou for range
Since you’ve probably read the databooks I’d like to know your opinion on whose ultimately stronger in a 1v1.
Naruto with all of the above powers you mentioned. Extended Sage Mode, Hiraishin and a tamed Kyubi.
OR
Sasuke with a mastered EMS and whatever else you think he’ll obtain from here on.
Assuming the “we’ll both die if we fight each other” stance is a cop out and ignoring that the manga is titled Naruto. One of them should come out the victor in a fight at full power.
It’s obviously going to be Naruto in the end. But if I had to whip up a list of all the techniques Sasuke could potentially learn and/or refine, things would look terribly in his favor.
“Look” being the key word. Sasuke already has a much larger and diverse selection of techniques, yet they’re just about dead even right now.
I didn’t think he was saying that either. Naruto told Sasuke they’d both die if they fought. That says they’re pretty comparable at this point.
Don’t even try to pin this shit on Kishi. He spent like a bajillion chapters explaining this garbage during Sasuke vs. Itachi and Madara’s talk with Sasuke (and Sasuke’s talk with Itachi in Part 1). Oh right, those are the chapters where everybody posts, “Lol, Kishi has to explain all of this stuff so the CHILDREN reading the CHILDREN’S comic book can understand this because they’re not as smart as us SRKers with our huge-ass fighting game brains,” after skimming for laser beams and then going back to making Ten-Ten jokes and having heated pairing arguments (you know, the important stuff) before asking somebody to explain what’s happening the next week.
Regarding what Naruto said, I don’t think he’s saying he can’t take Sasuke now. He’s saying he can’t take him without the two of them dying in the process. Thus why he said to Sasuke, “If we both fight seriously, we’re both gonna die”. He wouldn’t have said that if he didn’t think he has capable of killing Sasuke.
I don’t think Naruto is saying that Sasuke will outright beat him, but I think Naruto is coming to terms with the fact that killing Sasuke is the one and only way to get him to stop. And I do feel like the manga is returning back to the old stages…now that manga has progressed a bit, some of the ‘bullshit’ makes sense. I’m starting to think that Madara is pulling an Aizen. Gently guiding Sasuke into all those fights to see when and how far his power will rise.
I actually like Sasuke’s character now. He reminds me of a comic book villian. He does what he wants cause he has the power to, and he dares anyone to get in his way. I love it actually. He just doesn’t give a fuck, he’s on a mission and anyone who steps infront of him and can bow down or get killed.
But back to Naruto. I don’t think he’s going to get Hirashin. I think he’s going to come up with another technique…plus, Hirashin on Naruto doesn’t sit right with me.
