The animation itself was good as hell. You might not have liked the style(or art direction)…but, the animation was crazy.
i can assure you episode 167 took a lot of budget as wakabayashi is one of the high profile animators out there.

At one point pains legs turned into circles while he was running. Dude looked like Sonic the Hedgehog.

I finally got around to reading the chapter (like two days after Alpha gave me the cliff notes, I don’t mind spoilers). Yeah, I definitely think Mikoto would’ve taken Naruto but the elders were like “um…no”. Although thinking about it, that would be pretty damn beast. Naruto brought up with Itachi as an older sibling? He’d have been even more broken than he is now. :lol:

If we’re talking about fantastic animation with the most consistent art, I think I’d have to say Sarutobi vs Orochimaru trumps them both. They’re all handled by the same director(?).
This is how I felt. The animation was pretty damn good, but just didn’t fit Naruto for me. For the 1st minute, I thought I was watching one of those youtube self-made animation projects.
I didn’t like the characters bending, stretching and morphing like some Hanna-Barbara cartoon. Not to mention stylistically, the art kinda sucked. The whole episode really feels out of place, especially if you watch it right after the previous one.
