167 didn’t impress as much as it should have, the first half’s art style was just atrocious with a lot of goofy facial expressions from Pein and filler antics from Naruto but I did like how the second half was handled.
The real question is why did they need protection from Anbu? Anbu sux, they couldn’t even run in and say “OMFG we are Gettin RAPED!” before all getting merced? Using Naruto Fan logic…
Wait Minato and Kushina needed protection from Anbu so…Anbu > Minato + Kushina > Madara

You know what, I didn’t really care for the first half… some of the animations were just downright cartoony-level stupid, particularly most of Tendo’s facial animations… its like, seriously? wtf? the filler-fight wasn’t that great either
the animation quality was like, on the level they usually reserve for intros or movies, but still, pretty crap
Second half that was closer to the manga was sexier though

Just to poke a TenTen for old time’s sake…the fact that she hasn’t hit anything makes me wonder if she’s really on some Tyler Durden - fight Club shit, and is really the feminine aspect of Naruto, who’s chakra is so rich - it’s manifested itself into physical form.
However, TenTen is still just an illusion - thus her throwing stuff in the anime being useless, yet in a video game where things like “hadokens” reign supreme…she’s top-tier. Still liked Konkuro the most in the Ninja Storm game I had (I think NJ2)…those puppets were awesome…shit was like Dhalsim with speed.

I willing to bet that kish is doing some foreshadowing in chapter 500. Naruto’s mom tells Sasuke’s mom about birth -> Naruto’s mom is warned about spilling the beans -> (Sasuke mom tells the uchiha family about nearing birth) -> (Madara/Obito catches wind of it) -> Naruto becomes an orphan.

So many ridiculous animations in 167. They made Tendou Pain seem so much more durable and broken in general than he actually was in the manga, but I pretty much expected that.
Getting hammered into the ground, reverse-Shinra Tensei’d head first into a cliff, all of those stupid facial expressions during all of that, and the Chibaku Tensei…
