Naruto: Gekitou Ninja Taisen 4 gameplay thread

Nope, it’s unKnJable.

If you manage to start the combo when they’re at zero.

Is there a list of weights and defenses? Perhaps strongst defense (takes least amount of damage) to weakest (takes most)? Same thing for weights would be handy too, if it even matters anymore. Might just be body size. I’m thinking about compiling some info again like I did for GNT2. Thanks.

(Gasaraki: I saw that you are somewhat in my area. You down to play a few games sometime?)

Trag,

Haku is better.

Pros
Better damage options
Much better needle recovery (easy needle loops)
d+X can’t be staggered out of
I think he is gone for longer during d+X, or it hits faster when reappearing or something
Possible un-KnJable 100% from d+X
More stable d+X on the un-KnJability

Cons
No 100% chakra from d+X (That I’ve found yet)

Basically, you can’t do meaty d+Xs to win anymore. But they could stagger out of it before anyway, so meh.

And to fix the d+X whiffing on some characters, they would have to mess around with it’s hitbox, which is pretty unecessary.

Thanks Stabby. I wonder why it’s listed that way. It would seem that the higher defense you have, the lower the percentage would be (like, if your defense was 70%, you only took 70% of normal dmg etc). I wonder why it’s listed that way.

At any rate, I’ll do all the combo testing on Neji for now (or someone close).

He ported the method he used from GNT3-- I think he judges based on 30 kunai or something, and Neji had exactly 30?

I would have tested with Haku’s needles, since they do less damage, but can rack up faster.

Ah I see. Interesting method. Thanks for the info. Going to recheck these combos on Neji really quick. Is there a weight (or char size) discussion anywhere?

I believe weight is universal-- and size is pretty combo specific.

We just divide them up into adults and genin, you only get a few abberations. Adults were basically all the characters that could get hit by Zabuza’s YBBX in GNT3-- and it carried over. Oddly enough, both Kiba and Shino were tall enough for that. Sarutobi wasn’t. But since gravity changed, YBBX works against everyone now, except maybe Hinata and other tiny characters, but I’m not 100% sure.

And logically, the “100% health” status should be after Neji starting with the Sasuke group, since they are the largest.

EDIT: Well, largest one without excessive lifebars.

Weight isn’t an issue anymore, just body size, and even that doesn’t matter that much with the lower gravity.

And YES I’d love to get a chance to play some more people. My next free day is only tomorrow and then probably not until NEXT monday after this one so it’ll be a while but yeah I’ll plan on it.

Edit:So we found out today that you can use breaks even if you just hit the puppet. This means someone with superb ground strings like Orochimaru absolutely OWN Kankuro.

So, Kankuro can be blocking but as long as the puppets getting hit by a juggleing hit, they can cancel at anytime and restart the pressure. Kankuro’s low life and therefore guard meter just devistate him now.

I’m sure some of these are old, and perhaps a few might be new. I’m puttin together a list of combos for Zabuza and Kisame (to start). As mentioned, I may actually do some sort of FAQ or combo list like I did for GNT 2. At any rate, feel free to critique, comment, or question.

Damage estimates tested vs Neji (unless otherwise specified).

Edited combos out. Added txt file.

Who are the new characters in this game? I know the four ninjas that were taking Sasuke to Orochimaru are in it as well Kabuto… is there anyone one else new besides that?

Kisame, Cursed Seal 2 Sasuke, and one-tailed Kyubi Naruto.

Are you sure some of those combos don’t build more than 75% with Kisame? Looks like way too many hits before hand.

Does this mean Oro can do something like launch Karasu but continue his attack string on Kankuro he will still have cancel abilities on vs. the guarding Kankuro even though he’s no longer hitting Karasu anymore?

Also, could someone test the stagger effects of UKNaruto’s strings that ends with a small leaping roundhouse kick (can’t recall the exact string ATM, IIRC it’s something like BAA), it seems like you can perform small loops with it but I remember in GNT3’s case, Hinata, Kiba, and Itachi’s potential infinite/loops were void because later it was found out that you could mash out of stagger stuns. The thing with UKNaruto’s BAA(?) strings is that he recovers way faster than the previous mentioned, it seems like faster than the opponent could recover from staggering.

Maybe in 3v3, with the right realtime super, there is a potential for a real infinite with him?

Stabby, the note reads “some of these combos” lol. Combos that just use BBAAY, BBX ones keep the enemy chakra from building up too high (because of the second A slash). I’ll make a list of un-KNJ-able combos (assuming opponent has 2 chakra or less) tonight, and note the ones that are already up. I think I’m also going to start noting how much chakra the opponent will gain from each combo I list. Should be pretty handy.

Yes, so he could do something like BBBY infinitely.

Yes, it’s possible, and in fact very easy too. It’s more like A.Hinata’s infinite in that mashing won’t really help. AFAIK anyway. As for an infinite, he’d only be able to link to that combo in the first place if Tayuya was before him, and of course there’s no realtime super there. It MIGHT be possible with Kankuro or Haku but I doubt it heavily. The problem is that OTKNaruto’s tag is his j.B so he has to have enough time to neutral tag and get B out.

Narutimate Hero 3 seems to have The butterfly version of Chouji and one quick scene showing drunk Lee. I havent seen the whole trailer yet im watching it now.

i just played the new Naruto game the other week ago. the graphics got chomped, the smoothness of the game is jagged, and the game lags (WHERE THE FUCK IS MY SIDE-STEP!?!?!)

other than those complaints, the tag system is great, characters are dope, and the triple super is iight.

SS is way faster than it was in GNT3 though, and how did the graphics get chomped? This game is way prettier than the previous versions.

it sure would be nice if there were a lot of match vids of this game out or some tournament footage. the willvolution site is ok but i can’t find any of the videos on there (i registered).

also, whats the difference between this game and the ps2 version thats about to come out?
