yes bbhood is def. ratio 2. so is colossus (if you choose to keep ratios) because he’s equally a pain especially since you’re restricting other combinations that would be able to deal with him when he’s in build meterxxsuper armor mode. gambit/thanos/charlie should all be in the same ratio whether that’s 1 or 2. obviously I can’t force you to try out the democratic and current low tier rules but I’ll at least try to offer some thoughts to make the ratios a little less flawed.

it at least looks a little more consistant. aside from getting rid of ratios alltogether there are still some slight adjustments imo, but meh : /

though whose idea was it to ban psylocke AAA? is she really that much of a problem aside from those that can do crazy damage off of her (mags, storm, sent, IM)? the fact that only ratio 1s can be paired with her sorta makes the banning of her assist very redundant/pointless. same with capcommando assist. just my thoughts on it…

I don’t play MvC2 much less play LT, but I odn’t care how you all figure out how to run it, I’m excited about watching it!
Also, just for clairifications’ sake, all HDR tourneys are going to be run on 360.
HDR Teams will be run 2v2. 1A v 2A / 1B v 2B / [Winner A v Winner B if not on the same team]. I’m thinking about doing it this way instead of pokemon style because I don’t think HDR teams are going to be huge (I honestly expect no more than 8 teams) and doing it this way means everyone gets to play so… If HDR people feel strongly about it one way or another let me know otherwise we’ll go with this.
A-cho style for teams makes sense to me.

^which is why ratios suck. but once you allow colossus to incorrectly be ratio 1 then you’re just making exceptions and the whole “point” of why you are doing ratios is moot. and you have pretty powerful characters in ratio 2 already (2 ratio groups are waaaay too limiting) so yeah, no team VDO but some possibly still buff mm, rubyheart, or bbhood teams will be possible.

Beats if you’re suggesting we remove ratios altogether I completely agree. Devastation’s low tier tourney and the SRK low tier league use the same rules (except devastation bans capcom AA assist which I could take or leave), and I think those are just about perfect. A low tier MvC2 tourney shouldn’t be trying to prevent anyone from making a good team, it should just remove the abuseable characters and/or assists so we can see creative team combinations and playstyles that you normally wouldn’t in a normal MvC2 tourney.

jmcrofts: pretty much. that’s what I’ve been trying to express. the whole ratio idea goes against itself in that it bans teams that aren’t too strong (because only 2 ratio groups can’t accurately rate all of low tier), allows still good mm, rh, bbhood teams (again, because only 2 ratio groups), and yet (because of the ratios) limits team variety if you wanted to handle certain still strong teams.
I’m sure VDO is fine with SRK league version. he plays on it alll the time. and his team is allowed. keep in mind, colossus is definitely NOT ratio 1. you team him up with a decent AAA and decent possibly chipping assist or something else like bubbles. and super armor mode becomes hard to deal for most of the cast, especially with all the limitations of ratios.
again, ratios would be perfect…but only in a perfect world. you’d need like 5+ different ratio groups and even then not everyone would agree on the ratios. so let everything in and give people all kinds of options instead of limitations (which is what mahvel is all about)

If people are getting this in depth about low tier Marvel it should be practically guaranteed that they will be attending.
- No ratios for the Low Tier Marvel Tournament. Ban all god/top characters, and Tron assist. The rest is fine.
- Watch VDO demolish everyone.
- He signs some autographs, kisses some babies, then flies away in his jet.

trust and believe that the Marvel LT rules will be settled before showtime, but please feel free to state your opinion so i know all the hangups to ease out. once i have a solid picture i’ll finalize the rules, and then the challenge goes to the players to oporate sucessfully within those rules
