Probably the most important thing is to actually list the games being played in the thread title. I know I’ve often scanned the events forum for “HDR” in thread titles and just checked threads that had the game I’m interested in, so I guess others do the same.
Edit: I noticed the thread’s first post still only mentions “HDR Classic Singles”, but as far as I know, we’re also running HDR (Remixed) teams and singles, you might want to edit that in.

oh no ratios…though I will probably not be attending this ratios is not the way to go. it’s an outdated and opinionated philosophy compared to a joint agreement on rules from across the country that we have in the XBL/PSN rules. ban all of top tier, ban tron assist, and that’s pretty much it.
while ratios should be the way to go, they only work in the perfect world (which doesn’t exist). otherwise ratios are all subjective. for example, that rogue/gambit/cammy really is not that strong compared to other teams that may be allowed.
SB5 would’ve been the first online tournament with this tuned up rule set but for some reason it didn’t happen : /
after looking: top 5/6 in the game, cyclops, is allowed? also, it would help, could you list all the ratio 1 characters? (and crosscheck) because, for example, it looks like you didn’t include bbhood on ratio 2. and having mm, ruby heart, or BB teams while VDO can’t pick his team (which really isn’t too good of a team all around but he makes it beastly) is another issue caused by ratios.

I made valid points in the other thread imo and the only arguments against them was “this is how we’ve always done it” or “it’s easier” (like with the whole tron assist part a couple posts up). of course those are not valid arguments and doing it the XBL/PSN way is arguably easier to boot.

at the very least, fix the glaring issues like cyclops should be off, bbhood should be ratio2, and maybe either move gambit down or move charlie/thanos up. this flawed ratio system could at least be a little more consistant. not sure what else is amiss since ratio 1s weren’t listed.
i mean if you’re going to allow some jank combination of cyclops, ruby heart, megaman, or other strong ratio 2s teamed up with ratio1s like bbhood and charlieAAA/sonsonAAA but not allow team VDO or team Funny accent you just need to do away with ratios.

you’ve always had VDO’s team banned? you’ve always had cyclops allowed? always had bbhood ratio2. that argument is just not valid. as sooon as you move colossus down to allow VDO’s team you’re already causing more problems (because he easily belongs with others in ratio 2…and others in ratio2 aren’t as good as him) ratios are stupid unless you have like 6 different ratios.
how about we not cause a bunch of shit, read the link (though I know you already have) and try something that is both current and agreed upon/played by waaaaaaaay more low tier players then would ever play here or at SB. the fact that it’s been going like that (with a couple of changes from the beginning) also really helps that this is probably how low tier should be played and not some ruleset dusted off from the attic and constantly being messed up. only just because.
that is not what happened at SB5. people just decide to come in really late or people just feel too lazy to run it. the reasoning I was posting was not the cause.

I also hope I don’t have to explain why taking rules from just 1 person is flawed…even since there are many other great if not better low tier players (skitz, dao, mixup, wong) who all have different views on which characters are better than others. though mixup’s view on how low tier should be played is entirely correct imo…that is: forget old constricted ratios and let everything in (except for top tier and tron assist).

why people don’t want to use the democratic agreement is soooo confusing to me. it’s not hard, in fact it’s most likely easier because no ratios. the ratios generally always make it easier for my team choice, but I know that getting rid of ratios is best.

I’ve never run a tourney before but I could try. I don’t see why it can’t be like the XBL/PSN runners who pretty much let majority decide, even though they didn’t agree with everything, and they still happily ran many many tournaments.
if somehow I can find the funds to modify a TE stick without lag for DC so that it plays like it does on XB/PS3 I would definitely try to make it out here for this
