The reason that console ports of arcade fighters have 3x or 2x buttons set to one button is because the casual consumer. They pick up the game off the shelf because it says “Street Fighter” on the cover. They only have a standard issue pad at home, and the developer wants to make it as easy as possible for them to get into the game. Because if this casual gamer is frustrated that they cannot do a lot of the moves in said game, they won’t tell their friends to also pick up the game, or worse yet, to avoid said game because it’s to difficult to control. So since the advent of the 8-button control pad (e.g. SAT/PSX pad), developers have made it easier on pad players.
But you also should keep in mind that these games are developed in japan. (Midway not withstanding.) Where console fighters are more of an afterthought in a competitive sense. They throw in all the bonuses so it will sell, because without them people wouldn’t buy them. If you want to compete and improve your game you play at the arcade, where the controls are mostly standardized.
So back to why macros are a bad thing. You have to make a competition as fair as possible. So like in a game of basketball, you can choose what ever shoe that fits you best (i.e. your controller of choice). But you can’t put springs in them (i.e. Macros/Turbo).
MvC1/XMvsSF without macros. Takes a lot of skill to be able to utilize the 3p
Case 2:
MvC1 with macros. People be hitting wolvie ground infinite like its going out of style which is bitching hard without a 3p macro.
XMvsSF: holy hell at the storm and magneto shit.

Downtown isn’t much fun compared to Ripple which is less than 20 minutes away. I only go to Ripple but I could find a couple downtown. Are you guys staying in town that weekend? That drive back will be a monster after the clubs.
It looks like gamestop is holding a big national SFIV tourney, and the first round is on the 21st of Feb.
No one knows the official times yet, but would you be open to moving some of the games around so we can go dominate at the Circle Center gamestop? (Assuming that the C.C. Gamestop is one of the locations?).
Oh I’ll be there. No idea what everyone else wants to do, but after 12 hours of gaming, I’d honestly like another 12 hours. Because that’s the kinda guy I am :looney:
Well I’m sort of different. If I go to the club and hook up with a fine honey dip then I want about an hour or two of a little alcohol and pu$$. :badboy:Ya Digg? Then I might proceed to beat you all down in SFIV while hopefully getting some “sentinel”:badboy::badboy:
I am hoping this hasn’t dissuaded anyone from attending our tourney because it’s doubtful we could coordinate what is going on with our tourney and the Gamestop one on the other side of the mall assuming any gamestops in Indianapolis are throwing a tourney.
