I think you’re confusing Capcom with SNK… If I remember correctly, Dictator is the default boss of ST, Rugal and Akuma are the default boss characters of CVS2, and Pyron is the default boss character of Darkstalkers. :wgrin: I’m not trying to stir anything up, bro; I’m just making a point. Besides, I don’t think we can rely on Capcom’s previous outings to portray how things are going to be in IV. It seems like they’re really working hard to balance the whole game, even the typically unfair types (Akuma, Gouken, Seth, etc.). However, like I said: whatever the Indy crew decides is fine by me. It’s their event, and I’m just coming to have fun.
So I voted that both should be allowed. After giving it some thought I came to the conclusion that since we have no idea yet on what Gouki and Seth can do, they might not even be in the upper tiers. Since the Indy tourney and the one in WI i think are the first ones after SFIV’s release. These can be good test beds for the “majors”. Not to diminish our tourney or anything.
The game will have been out 4 full days by the time our tourney gets going. That’s plenty of time for people to figure out some of the broken stuff in the new characters. We’ll all have watched plenty of youtube vids, and I’m sure SRK will crash a lot with the influx of people talking about it. So here’s my proposal:
Both characters are banned as of now. (That is what has won the poll so far.) An hour before the SFIV tourney begins we take a consensus among all the participants in said tourney. If everyone agrees that is taking part, both Seth and Gouki, one or the other, or neither will be allowed. The default is they are banned. So if there isn’t a consensus, they stay banned.
We’ll have a few hours of casuals in by then, plus the 4 days before hand, so people will have a pretty good idea if they are SNK boss broke or not.
We do have an idea of what Akuma can do in HDR. Just not Seth. Time that could be spent organizing and running brackets to do another count for a character that probably no ones was planning on using in the first place might just cause unnecessary confusion. We’ll see what happens.

Well I was referring to Seth with Gill in mind really. Who knows, I’d almost rather have him unbanned at this point because I don’t think people will be able to figure him out that quickly (although I could be wrong).
Yeah SNK’s bosses are > Cap’s bosses in terms of complete brokeness, I just don’t play a lot of SNK games so it slipped my mind. Goenitz is retarded.
I just think Capcom will always stay with the trend of making boss characters too insane. I think regular Akuma (as apposed to Shin) is fair in SF4, and obviously fair in 3s. It’s cool man, different strokes

I want to be the first person to win a tourney with Dan in any game. He may actually be good in 4. I know his running away animation is too good.
He looks like he can actually put up a fight now. I love his ultra animation. Also, (I might have to talk to the cincy guys about this), but I’m looking to get HnK in some way shape or form, anyone have any suggestions? We played it last night in Cincy, Souther is the shit.
Might I recommend just getting a Japanese PS2. None of that swap magic or other related bs to deal with and no worries if a certain mod chip is compatible. It might be a little bit more expensive, but so much more convenient in the long run, just pop it in and it works.
Swap magic is way more convenient. 1 Console to play all regions. The swap takes like 30seconds from boot at most. And if you have a slim Ps2, you can mod it in about 10min. search for PS2 tissue mod, there might even be easier ways now. And you can get Swap Magic for like $25. Just make sure to get Swap Magic Plus 3.6, it’s the best version. Coder/3.8 has problems with certain games.
Wow, what are the odds? lol I just so happen to be selling my hard-modded PS2 with a PSX memory card and 2 PS2 memory cards, all Sony brand. It has all of its complete packaging and instruction manual still and 1 working controller. Lemme know if any of you guys are interested. It’s modded with a Matrix Infinity chip.
