ki 1 or nba jam??? decisions decisions

I found this…

OH MY HE’S ON FIRE!!
BOOM SHAKALAKA!!

I think that settles the case right there imo.
Besides, who doesn’t want to do full court dunks worth eight points doing somersaults in the air, and then break a backboard upon completion?

Well, if we play NBA Jam it’s gotta be 2 on 2. Midway wouldn’t have it any other way.

No secret Characters? I always laugh when I play as Bill Clinton or Al Gore. Gets me everytime.

Don’t quote me on this, but I know that at one point in time I had both Jam and T.E. for the SNES, don’t know if I still do, but man if I do, I’m def. gonna fire them up today.

Hmm, I should prolly play KI again to get used to it also…Just in case…

You could be Bill Clinton? Big head mode already in effect.

shit I know I have NBA Jam and TE for SNES so if people want to play them I’ll bring them if I come to this. It’s not emulator but hey, so? got that SNES multitap as well :bgrin:

No scaling + stick figures? :stuck_out_tongue: A SNES would be better used for Tournament Fighters, haha.

32X, that’s prob the most badass homeversion. Big head mode permanently on, WTF.

MAME all the way though. I’m sure we won’t have time, but I’d love to do a NBA J TE 2-on-2.

First post updated with start times. Also the voting will remain open for a week after which the option with the most votes will decide which, if any, characters are banned.

I still think it should be a random selection for the $1 mini tournament… so no one knows whats to deal with…

that makes it all the funner.

Why not do CvS last since it’s probably going to be one of the least-played games? SFIV will prob have more people playing and is kind of a showcase, wouldn’t it be good to give that more priority?

Also, put me down for TvC and SFIV.

Usually the main events are held last and CvS 2 probably won’t happen unless more people register.

Plus CvS2 always takes forever…regardless of how many people are in it lol.

Oh hey, just read the first post, and with the tvc, you gotta have the Yatterman-1 rule in effect, read about it here: http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=172448

But basicly, the different colors effect the angle of one of his specials pretty significantly.
Just thought you should know if you didn’t. ( I don’t think I saw it on the Evo Rules).

Hmmm add me to the pre-reg list

Count me in, guys. I can’t miss an Indy tourney – they never disappoint!!! :wgrin:

Also, I noticed that I’m the only person that voted that Seth should be allowed, but Akuma should not. I feel like I should provide some support for my opinion. HD Remix has been out for a couple of months now, and we’ve all seen how brutally unfair Akuma can be, especially given certain match-ups. However, this tourney will be just days after the release of SFIV: we won’t really know what Seth is capable of by that point in time. I don’t think it’s fair to just automatically say Seth is banned. If that’s the case, then I think that Cammy, Fei-Long, Sakura, Gen, Akuma, Gouken, and Dan should all be banned, as well. Why? Because for all we know they could be just as broken. I say let everyone be fair game in this tourney, because it’s not a major. This could be a great test-run for some of these characters, and the community will acknowledge the tourney as such if we do, in fact, discover some truly broken stuff about them. As of right now, all that we have to go by is what we’ve seen in the arcade version, which didn’t even feature a playable Seth. All I’m saying is if you’re going to ban Seth for no real reason, then you should ban ALL the console characters because the potential is there for all of them to be just as broken.

No ThreeS Mike?

Well, we have a real reason for banning Seth. Some agree and some don’t. I’m really 50/50 about it.

Honestly the reason I feel is good for banning seth is that… some players ARE GOING TO grind and find stuff out with seth.

Like for example I talked to Tiamat ( the best nightmare player) and he told me about how he spent like a day figuring out cheap stuff with algol , and he decided to go do it on people and just beat the crap out of everybody.

But if I recall correctly , people didnt wanna ban algol when he was first released… because they didnt see a problem with him… hmm…

It’s a Capcom boss character…A CAPCOM BOSS CHARACTER. When aren’t they completely broken ?

Hey, no qualms here; I wasn’t planning on using Seth, anyway. Not when my boys, Dictator and Guile, have whole new bags of tricks for me to abuse. :wgrin: But, joking aside, if you guys say you have a reason, then I’m not going to question it. You guys are running the show, and whatever you decide is fine with me – it’s gonna be a good time no matter what.

Eh…I think Chi was pretty much my last 3S tourney. I’ll play with people casually while I’m in Indy, but I’m just not really feeling the game anymore. Plus, my gameplay has shown signs of horrible degradation due to lack of play. Chi was the first tourney at which I went 0 - 2 in 3S. To me, that’s a sign that I need to be moving on to greener pastures.
