inpin adapter from etokki.com is the best adapter you can get for pc/ps3 period. I have no trouble with it using my namco or other sticks
I just got one of these glorious sticks. Is there an adapter that I can use for PS3/PC and Xbox360? Iād really like to not have to buy 2 adapters. Or would modding it with a McCthulu or similar be the way to go?
That mayflash is nice. Vangief uses one. I asked if he felt any lag and he said nope. Good enough for panch its good enough for me!! I have tested my namco on a Etokki, In-pin and Blaze. All work well except for the Blaze. Stay away from it with regards to Namco compatibility.
Hi everyone, first post here in SRK.
Anyone still interested in the āgate and stickers colorā thing?
Iām an arcade stick newbie and I got fascinated by this stick since I was looking for a quality PS1/PS2 compatible controller for an affordable price, so I bought 2, both used and without a box, for 39⬠(30+shipping) each.
One has a white actuator -I didnāt open my sticks, I only lifted the dustwasher upā¦guess actuator and gate match in color, wonāt they?- and the lever seems a bit harder, a blue āSLEH-0004 Made in Chinaā label, round housing for the screws -Iām specifying in opposition to the housing shape found in this stick, http://homepage2.nifty.com/ericgilbert/joystick/Image062_.jpg - and a grey ācylinderā on the cable near the plug -is that a capacitor in technical terms? Iām going crazy finding its proper name since I got no knowledge in electronicsā¦- ; the other has a more loose black actuator stick, a blue āSLEH-0004 Made in Japanā label and a black āSLPH-00029 Made in Chinaā label underneath the blue one, round housing for screws in this one too, and a black TOKIN ācylinderā.
The point is, I read somewhere else there were three production runs of this stick:
- completely made in Japan
- case made in China, stick buttons and PCB are the same as the first run
- completely made in China, only the PCB stays the same from the previous revisions, this revision compares the current Hori Fighting Sticks being produced for XBox 360 and PS3 in terms of stick and buttons quality.
Is this information correct? If yes, could one of my sticks -or both at worse- belong to the infamous āall Chineseā generation?

The only thing I didnāt manage to picture is the black ācylinderā on my first stick, I need different lighting to take a pic without flash -flash makes the TOKIN writing impossible to read ^^; And I know pics of the actuators may need to be taken again for the same reason.
EDIT: ah, I only now remember someone said in this thread itās common for Namco sticks to sport 2 labels, one hidden under another. Does it apply to all the āMade in Japanā labeled sticks or just some of them?
Whatās the best way and products to treat the bottom(or top or any metal part) on an arcade stick? I donāt want to cover it with any material, the bottom of my namco has some rust, so would the best be to lightly sand it all until the rust is gone, but then whatās the best things to apply to make it rust resistant and smooth and nice again?
Kind of like the bottoms of newer sticks, they seem to be a lot better at being rust resistant.
They were originally powder coated So I usually re-powder coat them I did for another guy on this thread you can look back a few pages and find it so if you something like that let me know you can go with regular pain but its not as tough a finish.
So any auto place that does car detailing can give it a powder coat? I guess I need to sand it down smooth first with fine sandpaper or so to get rid of all the rust? Then a light grey powder coat?
Also a cheaper route would be something like rustolum clear coat spray paint would be good?
Auto places donāt normally do powder coating its a different technique its baked on its used on body frames, outdoor gate handles, car springs its a much tougher finish, but yeah the rust needs to go before you do anything thereās rust converter and other products for rust sanding works as well.
So any product that prevents rust in a spray would be pretty good?, thatās if I donāt go a powder coating route(No clue how expensive it would be, Iād have to check around)
Could it be clear coat of rustolum and thatās it or do I need to put some sort of rust proof primer first?
Does anyone know what screws they use for the top panel and bottom? Or anything that would fit perfectly?
Added some weight to my namco. Not exactly sure how much as i cant find our scale but its discernible .
will be cleaning up the tubes with shrink wrap eventually.
I recently got around to modding my Namco stick. Pretty happy with it too.

I tried to keep true to the original but added mc cthuhlu and all sanwa including flash and silent buttons. I alsoadded acrylic space all around the base to fit the new stick and LEDās for flash.
^im interested to see the bottom side, do you ahve pics? seems like you did some cool stuff there
Not sure if this has been posted before, but I recently got this stick and I wanted to use it on a Wii for some arcade titles.

I tried to use this type of converter, but it doesnāt work with the Namco stick, both PS2 and PS1 Dualshock controllers work, but for some reason the stick doesnāt.
Has anyone tried to use this converter with the Namco stick?
The bottom is the original metal plate, tried to keep it all original, still has the same weight.
So one of the microswitches on my buttons just went. Am I able to just pick up a http://www.focusattack.com/sanwa-sw-68-button-micro-switch/ Sanwa microswitch and swap out the dead one for it, or am I going to need to replace the buttons as well? If I need to replace the buttons as well thatās fine, I just want to make sure I get everything at once to save on shipping - Just got my Cthulhu in yesterday and the switch died today so you could understand my frustration lol.
yes, the Sanwa SW-68 switch works with the stock Namco buttons. be warned the tabs are a bit longer than the stock button prongs so bending is necessary.
