Has anyone used Seimitsu PS-15 buttons in this stick? I know the body of the buttons are shorter so using QDs would be possible but I’m not sure if the screw in type button would fit circumference-wise, thanks!
if its anything like other hori ‘fs’ sticks, using a seimitsu nut works fine, sanwa nuts are huge and tend to be too tight.
that said, ps-15’s are snap-ins, just in case.
I have always wanted one myself. Never been so lucky to actually have money when I thought about it or found one at a reasonable price. I think 2014 might just have to be the year of the Namco stick for me.
27.35 shipped on eBay.
Only bad thing was the sticker, but will use Goo-Gone or something to get it off cleanly. And some rust.
But everything came stock. The first one I bought had a broken microswitch in the stick.
So recently acquired an unused Namco that’s been sitting in someone’s basement for more than a decade.
The stick feels a bit gritty when moving, so I guess I should take it apart, wipe off the old dried up lube and apply new grease to it - I take it that I should get the Shin-Etsu lubricant that Etokki is selling?
Is there anything else I need to do in order to bring it back to fighting form? Do those microswitches require lubing? Buttons?
Keep in mind you need very little silicone grease to lube your stick so even a small 3 gram tube last a long time.
In general, no. You would want to look into the condition of the joystick micro switches and the spring. its a bit difficult but the Namco buttons; their microswitches can be replaced with Sanwa SW-68 switches.
Since the stick is barely used and properly stored (not a speck of scratch, rust or even discoloration on the bottom panel). Unless those switches deteriate when left alone I think they should be ok.
Anybody ever see this stick with all 4 buttons across the top yellow instead of 2 gray and 2 yellow? Wondering if there was a certain model that had this change or if it was modded.
