By this do you imply that a normal screwdriver won’t cut it? The screws don’t seem stripped, just in there really really tight.
E: Managed to get one out with just elbow grease. Here’s to hoping.

…do sanwa jlf microswitches fit in the namco stock stick?
No harness. Daisy Chain the ground and solder each button. Sanwa switches should not be a problem I believe.
Yes they do fit. A new, lubricated Hori joystick with a JLF spring, pivot, microswitches, and gate feels like a slightly stiffer JLF. Then combine that with Namco facebuttons with SW-68 switches and the arcade stick really is a dream.
Unfortunately my Namco was too worn down for me to try it stock. There are no regrets though. Laugh.
Speaking of switching parts out, what might need to happen in order for installing that cool Link shaft in a Namco, besides installing a JLF in there?
other than getting the jlf in i would not foresee a problem. well their is the matter of the dustcover and maybe making it wider. I did not install a jlf so not sure if you need to make the change like on a ls-33.
Honestly unless your very good at case modding I wouldn’t go install a JLF. I seldom see a JLF install on a namco that I would want myself.
ditto. change the switches if you like, that would be be most painless mod you could do.
Should I just change the button switches or get a set of yellow sanwas? The buttons are a little more money, but are they worth it? I like the feel of sanwas, but changing the switches on the stock namcos would probably just feel the same, or would it? simple decisions are the worsto_O
As someone has probably already said, the Namco stick is NOT that great of a stick to mod and the button tension already feels like Sanwa.
It wouldn’t hurt to change to sanwas microswitches. I mean the thing came out in 96. So you figure if you do replace them you wont have to worry about them for years while the Hori’s I’m sure have had years of wear already. I would keep the hori buttons its cool how the buttons are flat like PS-14-g’s but unlike the 14’s they can use sanwa micro switches
but let me know I have both if you need them a set of 6 sanwas in yellow or 6 sanwas microswitches I can ship them out with your powder coated panel I had to hold off shipping on friday I need to get measurements on the namco shaft to cut the yellow shaft cover to size . Don’t worry it will go out monday for sure
Is the PCB for the new mad catz all black namco stick, the TE with red NAMCO on the side, compatible with the TEasy dual mod kid? And if so, does the TEasy work well?
would go with the TE Kitty much easier to install and you keep all the TE functions and can remap buttons for systems other than the 360 No soldering needed

How did we get to Kitty’s in this thread? I thought we were talking about the yellow ball handle Namco sticks (1996)?
I was just gonna suggest that y’all replace the golden cow idol, Baal, with a gold-plated Namco Stick and worship that instead!
just giving my recommendation
Its Namco appreciation so any stick with Namco on I guess qualify’s
Lol. Don’t make me edit the title. Six Button Namco Appreciation!
That means no talking about anything else.
The Namco has to be stock by 6-button.
Means no Namco TE or other HORI.
Nope!
What makes me laugh is everytime someone uses the words “lube” and “shaft” in the same sentence!
I’m sorry…
I know I’m eight!
It’s just that some of these technical terms can be screwed into really naughty things!
(Even that last sentence was kind of dirty!)
Yeah,
I think Rosser has a point, too!
The LE Tekken Hybrid Pack is the “spiritual” successor to the old Namco Stick.
(Yeesh! Two religious posts by me in a row!)
