Namco Stick Appreciation!

Hmmm, I have a Fighting stick EX2, and thought it was a really good stick for its price. I guess I dont need to try out a Namco like I wanted. Does the Namco come with a 4 way or 8 way? I switched my EX2 to bat top, and it currently has a 8way restrictor, dont remember if I switched it or not.

It is really hard to play Fighting Games with 4-Way.
How to do a Hadoken or Shoryuken?
Laugh.

Sonic Boom will work.
And Flash Kick.

All Japanese Joysticks (in our interest at least) come 8-Way Square.
And that includes everything Hori.

The cool about these Namco are the Buttons and slim Case, and of course being Six Buttons.
The Buttons look like Seimitsu PS-14-G, but can take Sanwa SW-68 Microswitches.

^I could play Blanka in 2-Way!
Beast Rolls like a mofo.

Laugh.

Go check this out asr10.

Anyone happen to have a template for the Namco? The templates thread holds nothing value, sadly, other than more people also asking for it. I figure if anyone’s likely to have it it’d be someone in this thread.

Ask net he may have it since his namco has artwork on it.

I have it.
Get it, get it, get it!

Share the wealth of the Namco Template!
Muahahahahahha!

networkingyuppy, I must thank you for convincing arthong to make a plexiglass cover for the Namco Arcade Joystick. It might not be out in production yet, but I can’t WAIT till it does! I want to see what kinds of cool things people who own one will do with the new options for artwork. Oh man, I’m tingling all over thinking about it! :bgrin:

Awesome, thanks.

EDIT: Btw networkingyuppy, the images of your stick are dead. Does Art’s plexi go up over the little buttons? Or only as far as the metal plate goes?

Thanks again. Shame that it only goes that high, but I won’t complain about a good thing just because it isn’t “perfect”.

I want to swop one of my namco sticks for an “arcade in a box” (preferably the design with the really high box because my suzo rotterdam stick wont fit in any other stick). I live in England but I’m willing to pay for p&p.

My Nam sticks.

ignore the date, I took these pictures over a month ago.

My friend just gave me one of these, brand new.
:]

I’m going to frankenstein a stick together, though the color scheme will be disgusting.

Okay. I’ve got my template sorted (just need to wait now on Arthong to start selling the plexi), and I’ve got a local stockist with some fresh new microswitches for the stick. I also know where I can get some new microswitches for the buttons, but does anyone happen to know which button is the closest in terms of shape, that can take or already has the TKC MM9-3 microswitch? (I’m guessing probably the Seimitsu PS-15). Yellow is difficult to design around, but I want to keep the feel as close to stock as possible.

Seimitsu PS-14-K and PS-15 and PS-14-P have the TKC MM9-3 Microswitch.
But those Buttons are not shaped like the stock Namco Buttons.

You can put TKC MM9-3 into Sanwa Buttons.
OBSN-30, OBSF-30, OBSC-30 and others.

But you want to have closest to stock Namco Buttons right?
Then why not just use the stock Namco Buttons.
They fit the TKC MM9-3 also.

Because the stock buttons are yellow. Yellow’s more than fine against flat grey, but when I’m trying to do artwork around them, it limits my choices.

Oh, so you want colors not Yellow.
Ok, I get now.

If you want Green, you can find from the Soulcalibur 2 Stick.
