it’s not a matter of how well we play the game… it’s a matter of how well the game plays 
we could all just pick Jin and be toptier t5 players, but we’d then still be playing tekken. even Rob, who is undisputedly our most multi-dimensional regular to the big Mike fanclub, doesn’t much like tekken (if at all).

Hey Bmike I was around ur house at brookdale on friday at like 5:30 and I was gonna comeover but I havent been tehre in awhile so I wasnt sure if u were busy or not.
burnsville has a Kof machine and maplewood has 2 mvc2 machines. one of them is the japanese version where one person plays on one end and the other on the other machine
john and chris goes to maplewood mall kinda often now. plus john is married now and a daddy!!

ok. so between bouts of crayon on friday/saturday/sunday, i found out that Vice… anywhere within 2/3 screen from a corner gets to:

[something] == d.lk>d.lp>d.hp or d.lk x3 or d.lp x3 (these are the most realistic. unless the opponent screwed up something, you won’t try meaty hits like standing fierce)

Pops was dope, but there wasn’t really any comp there aside from Wes showing up occasionally. Derek used to play 3S there and was decent but I invited him over to my pad and he has since stopped playing fighting games because of me [urien]. He learned the hardway about jumping at Urn.
Alan was there a lot too but he’s old and just drinks now. :wgrin:

I’ve not played the game myself, but I’ve watched it in Cali.
I played in a TTT and T4 tourney a long time ago, reason being SC2 was also one of the games in that 3 game set. Looking at T5, it to me looks more like TTT, which has one of the most rediculous juggle systems ever created.
If you can get your hands on some Evo match vids for TTT, you’ll see what I mean.
Also, I’ll be damned if they ever balance anything in that series. I don’t know if Jin is still his own tier towering above everyone else, but I would place money on someone being the undisputed Ken of that game.
Heh, I remember Pop’s. It took me 4 weeks to convince my roommate that I was going to the arcade instead of the porn places…and I will give them a little bit of praise - they got MvC2 before almost anywhere else in the country, and until they went to 3-tokens-per-dollar it wasn’t too bad. I’m not sure I miss it though - one time, this guy got punched unconscious right behind me as I was playing, and everybody ran out. And the current SF group plus John/Yeng/Nick/Wes pretty much beat everybody there for free. I used to go and spend 2 tokens for a few hours of play.
Also, I used to get asked if I wanted to buy drugs every single time I went. Bleh on that.

players will pick: jin/kazuma/devil since they’re all just about the same
then they’ll go in with Jin and do laser scrapers until it hits. then they do it again to juggle. then they separate, and start laser scrapering again. then if it hits, they do it one more time to juggle. oh yeah. if one person misses a laser scraper, the other person will do it.
and if they want to get REALLY REALLY fancy, they’d do a laser scraper, tag to kazuma and do his version of hte laser scraper-ish move, then tag back to Jin for more laser scrapering. or they’d just use kazuma for his lesser laser scraper. oh yeah. Julia gets the elbows.
fun game. it was uber enjoyable to watch 2834628364 HOURS OF STUPID ASSES PLAYING THAT RETARDED GAME AT EVO. if it weren’t for the 3S coming after crappen tag and we wanted a seat, i wouldn’t have sat there even for those 15 minutes.

Jin does not have Laser Cannon in T5.
He’s got some other move, exact same input, but it’s supposed to be toned down, it still juggles though.
cvs/ST sagat has tiger (tiger tiger tiger) cannon. tekken jin has laser cannon. mvc2 cable has air hyper viper cannon. i suppose following this trend would be 3S’s Chunli Ken an’ Yun… har har…
and also note that Baiken’s got herself a dusty dragon cannon, but she’s not top tier
all jokes aside I’d like to see tekken 5. Just see it that’s all. All you evo whores got to and I haven’t. I’d like to see Blade in action.
