Which parries are you talking about? The only one that I remember being sorta cool was the one where we were both in the air where you parried me and then I parried you before hitting the ground. The games were quite fun though.

I think you should try Millia. She’s got the Magneto mentality that I think you’re looking for. She doesn’t have an invincible special move for me to run into and get smacked with, but I think she pressures and mixes up as good as, if not better than Sol.

I’ve been trying out Venom a bit myself. It’ll take a while to get anywhere near as good with him as I am with Testes or Zappa, but that’s how this game works I guess. Each character (at least most of them) are so complex that it takes a long time to figure them out.

Millia never stops :frowning:

I think her main thing is spacing, without it she can be thrown for free. . . .but then again, who can’t -.-

Any GG character can be rushdown really, you already play the cheesiest of them all, so anything else (excluding robo-ky) would be an improvement ^.^

pochops isn’t rushdown, bizznatch ^_~
he’s walk down. walk that shit down.

Millia or Chipp. either have stupid speed and Millia is more sound in her lockdowns whereas Chipp just has fuggin MAD confusion tactics with find me and teleporting all over.

Big Mike:Thanks man. The 3S version will come if my friend does again because he owns it.

Also, for next week, i REALLY dont want to catch the bus over there. I did itnerary at the metro transit site, and it said that i had to take 2 buses to get over there, (the 54 to MOA, then the 5S or some shit, and that aint bad) but it would take 120 minutes to get there. Fuck that!!! You gonna have to pick my black ass up from my house motherfucka!!!j/k

But for real. Gimme your number. I didnt get the chance to get my ass beat in some CvS2 or that #R whatever game that is and some others. I think playing till 11pm is pretty cool for my curfew even though I am 18 now, but I still live with my mom, so I gotta go with her rules unless im homeless.

Also, I always wanted to collab with a guitar player for some of my music.
I do IDM, and instrumental hip-hop. If I can get ahold of a mic and a tape player, would you want to try it out?

Maobei: Man, you made me feel like crap beating my sorry ass in MvC2 with that cheap ass Juggaknot.

Stefan: Lets hit up some CvS2 next time.

Rob: Good games in VF4 Evo. Sarah rules. Dont forget that. :xeye:

TO EVERYONE:

Sorry that my crew werent really arcade stick savvy. I hope that didnt ruin any experiences or crediblity towards us. We know that sticks rule and pads drool. I’ll probably come by myself next time, cause I wanted to stay.

PEACE OUTWARD

hey man, no harm done on the no-stick bit. i STILL play GGXX on pad, even though i’m supposed to be using a stick.
and i was playing 3S on pad for the longest time. so no sweat on that

my marvel2 team consists of bugged Juggernaut and 2 cannon fodders i’d play 2x buggernauts and a doom or somebody covering my meaty ass, but i don’t know what to do since i’ve only seen Mike Z use one juggernaut heh

I’m not sure if I said this already, but the topic was changed to “Do video games make people anti-social?”. We have 4 groups of people that we want to interview: Parents of people (particularly kids and teens) who play video games a lot, video gamers (kids and teens), psychologists, and the professionals (you guys). I would love to have all of your input in this (especially Wes; didn’t he place 5th in ST? what an accomplishment).

Okay, now what we have to do is have your name (first and last), phone-number, and where you would like to be interviewed at (your pad for instance). Please post as soon as possible.

first: Maobei
last: Feng

i’ll most likely be at big Mike’s this weekend. if my project’s feces hits the big room fan, then i’ll be there the weekend after. i will see by friday if i’m going or not. as for the phone number… is this going on record or is it going to be handed in for the class? i’d rather not divulge my cell # to your legally retarded and close-minded teacher.
but congrats on getting her to finally see what you’re trying to do. fugger calls us anti-social… you’re going to be quoting some very un-nice things about her, ok?

per big Mike, me dorm fone: 612-301-4976
and how do i know he doesn’t wanna booty call? i’m sure he’ wanna kick my booty with a 9-iron for exploiting juggernaut bug and keeping my sorry ass alive

Maobei Maobei… you can give him your dorm number. It’s not like he wants you to be his booty call. lol

I’d like to be interviewed at my pad. Later in the evening on Saturday would work best–after my baby goes to sleep which is at 8 pm.

Wes is probably a good example in the fact he doesn’t play games any more so he can be social.

ok. i doubt i can make it this weekend. spring break coming up soon and i needa get another stupidly large chunk of my crayon project done so i can meet with the prof the week before break, etc.
you’ll just have to make do without lowtier A/N groove RC action for one weekend :stuck_out_tongue:

Yo.

Count me in.

Rob Johnson
952-937-9372 is my home #. I’d like some advance on when/if this is gonna be done though, half a day at least. If ya want to just ship over to Bmikes, we can just do it there, yeah?

–Katra,

Sarah is cool, but once she goes in to flamingo you get a free down kick. I’ve only played Kage for about 3 hours total, so it took a while to figure out what that was with him -.-

He also seems to outpoke her with the mid 3k, no questions asked.

Lei just monks people.

Bmike–

Are you going to take up a new character then? If so, I can try to pick up someone new as well. I suck with a ton of people about equally, but unsure of who I could use to spar with you until you find a stupid mixup that requires real effort to knock down :-/

Oh, Millia doesn’t have a DP, so . . . . . how are you gonna work around that? I’ll actually be able to play my May against you now :-p

Chipp has a DP, but if I block it as Dizzy . . . yeah, that’s like half life for free.

===========

TAKE MULTI-DIMENSIONAL POST, BITCHES.

I’m not sure who i’m going to take up. But it will be somebody new. Yun doesn’t have a (GOOD)DP and I do fine.

he has a good EX dp :stuck_out_tongue:
but Yun’s also retarded. and he likes men.

I’ve got one EX dp then all my meter is gone. Oh wait. I have meter?

yeah. you do have meter. it lasts like 8 seconds. 8 seconds of juggling man-on-man action. because Yun likes men. and he’s retarded :stuck_out_tongue:

RX is my urien god.

We start filming in late March; I’ll just film this at Mike’s house (everyone goes there).

Anyways, I spent some time searching and I found these:

http://www.hellosaintpaul.com/YP/c_AMUSEMENTANDRECREATIONSER.Cfm

They list a lot of amusement and recreational centers.

Not enough information on this.

Kind of similar to Chuck E. Cheese, can you spot the Tetris Cabinet?

http://www.ssbilliards.com/video.html

They don’t have any fighting games, but they have been here for a long time. If we put in a lot of support, they might “okay” our request for specific games.

http://www.bloomingtonmn.org/jillians.asp

They say it has 150 different kinds of arcades and pinballs (which is hard to believe), but if there are that many, they are bound to have fighting games there.

http://www.indoorspeed.com/index.htm

It’s going to open in one month, quite similar to Chuck E. Cheese (but the focus is more on Go Karts).

Yep, they’re arcades. Not sure if they have fighting games those places, but if you have the time, you could probably check it out or give them a call.

I checked out Jillians and the rest of the Mall of America arcades. Still the same situation as it has always been. Almost no fighting games. Jillians had absolutely nothing of consequence. The other arcade on the 4th floor has T5, T4 and VF4, but no 2d games, and more importantly, nobody playing any of them.

The Camp Snoopy arcade is split into 2 parts. One part is mostly kids games and the other has some more grown-up games. The part with the kids’ games has a multi-arcade machine with like 30 capcom arcade games. It includes SF1, SF2, CE and HF. The adult place had SFEX2+ and T5. No one was really playing SFEX (just some 7 year old kids mashing). However, there was a group of about 6-10 people around T5. Some of them were taking turns on one of the dancing games too. I’m not a great judge of Tekken, but they seemed decent, but not too great. However, on the dancing game, they were quite impressive.

Overall, MOA sucks in general. It’s so much easier getting any sort of shopping done at a regular mall instead. There’s a good reason that I’d only gone to MOA once or twice in the last 8 years before tonight.

Watching the people play T5 in the arcade made me a bit nostalgic about the old arcade days in high school, playing at Picadilly Circus in Ridgedale. Even just visiting the arcade in Omaha and FFA in LA get me missing the good ol’ arcade days. Functionally it works out fine just getting together and playing at Mike’s, but there is something nice about playing in public in an arcade.

Unfortunately, even if we find an arcade that has a good 2d cabinet, we still have to have a good userbase to play the game even if we (me, Mike, Maobei & Rob) aren’t there. It seems like the MN 3d crowd probably has a decent arcade spot or two in town. The 2d games, however, can’t get the love since they aren’t as “pretty”. GG series has a chance since its got some decent graphics, however, there still needs to be some demand for it. Maybe we can find an arcade with an established 3d playerbase and try to get the owners to get a #R cabinet and then convince a few 3Ders to stray over a bit.

One major issue with a lot of the arcades here is that they’re owned by Namco.

Namco doesn’t like Capcom.

Even though I wasn’t active when the scene was great, now that I think of it, it’s great to have a group of people playing a game they love (or like). Two people using their brains and hours of practice, showing what they have against each other and everyone rotating (when someone loses). It’s hard do that online, because even a little lag can effect the outcome of a match and the atmosphere is not the same when playing at home.

usually, at our gatherings, it’s two people using their brains showing what they have against each other and one person staying still with everybody else rotating :stuck_out_tongue:
usually the still one is big Mike and his stupid little Yun hehe
