It’s CFJ, and it’s CRA…P. I mean hell, the UCLA arcade had it, and I went today, and was like, umm, CFJ or GGXX/3s/MvC2? CFJ or CvS2? CFJ or MvC1? CFJ or “playing” the change machine? Come ON, that game has NOTHING going for it.
Funny moment - some dude walked in and looked at people playing it for a while (well, the PERSON playing it ALONE) and said, “Hey, SvC was pretty bad, and this new SNK game doesn’t look much better.”

So yeah, I gave CFE the minnesota playtest last night. The game is crap. It feels 1/2 done, just like CVS1 did. But I also bought CVS1 the day it came out too.
Big Mikes Observations:
a. They actually used the 3S sprites for chun and yun. Alex and Urien are nobrainers but I was expecting they’d use CVS2 sprites for chun and yun. Good shit.
b. Yun isn’t as crappy as CVS2 but no where near 3S good. His best combo is jab>short>strong XX you hou > jab shoulder, STANDING STRONG (yeah weird) into any strength upkick. Does 7166 or little over half for 1 meter.
c. EX moves from 3S are very weird. Uriens headbutt only hits 2 times if performed close to the opponent.
d. Uriens fireball doesn’t allow juggles from normal or special moves. I could only get supers to juggle.
e. Charge time for 3S people is noticeable longer but you can still down+fierce with urien and have enough time to headbutt or knee drop after.
f. Ryu doesn’t have the hopkick.
g. Playing Sakura/Ryu without dashes is really weird and stupid. Slows the game down.
h. Why the fuck did they reverse Urien’s motion for aegies. stupid.
i. SUPER CANCELS ARE FAST!!! You really need to have that shit down. Special cancels also. For example… Sakura’s B&B combo… you need to cancel the s.short SUPER fast for it to come out.
j. zangief has crazy range on spd again.
k. interface is really amateurish.
l. Alex isn’t too bad to play in CFE. You don’t have to adapt much to bring his ground game to CFE.
m. SO SLOW!!! Default speed is 3 out of 5 stars. I had to crank it to 4. Special cancels were still had to do at 3 stars so…
n. Yun has a new win pose.
o. DarkStalker chars seems laggy. Everything seems laggy.
Okay so the list could probably go on but anyway…
I’m thinking Saturday the 27th would work best for everybody. That way people can come all day… but let me know if FRIDAY works for people with jobs!!! I need input on this so we can have the most people.

Mike I propose giving DBZ:B3 a try, I’m not sure if you played the two before this one…but if I come this weekend I’m sure you’ll notice this as an interesting game. Maybe in “your-book” better than MK6, DOA, and CFE…lol! :tup:

CFJ Alex SUCKS. Shoulder rush takes a year. Only useful if you have 2 meters (elbow rush to stungun, yes that’s right, then chop to hyper bomb).
Yun combo can be 123 (shoulder sometimes) xx You Hou, launcher xx whiff divekick d.Strong -> upkick, d.Strong->upkick. Seen it done. He still sucks, sorry.

And YES it feels amateurish cuz it’s CRAP. If it takes 2 games (All-Stars anyone?) for them to get it half right, why would anyone play Capcom anymore?

I’m with you for Alex sucking… my point is that he is the least raped by the CFE engine. Chun Li I’m not sure about.
For the Thanksgiving stuff, I have off work on Friday, but I’m planning on spending more time with family that day. Saturday would work much better. I’d probably be up for doing stuff later in the evening on Friday and then also doing all day/night Saturday if people are up for that.
Noted. Anybody else with a pref for sat or fri??
Sup Minnesota peeps and mike Z! Long time no see indeed. Man this crapcom fighting scam has rekindled my intrest in all things sreet fighter. Well acctually SFAC did that 1st, but I still don’t have any one to play here. I read Mike t’s initial impressions, and I agree. I was definitly dissapointed with CFJ. but I still think it could be fun. I havn’t acctually played any vs. yet but if they have balance in this game it might end up being fun. TS only has 20 or so characters. Man, remember when I would always try to get you guys to play TS cause I sucked at mvc2? Now it’s all the rage. Damn oh well just thought I’d check in and see your impressions of the 1st 2d fighter capcom has made in 3 years. I hope the new staff got some practice and will churn out a better sequel.

Sorry to disappoint you, O Bad Movie, but CFJ has no balance. Guile, Anakaris, and Vega almost completely destroy everybody else. Sakura and Karin can sort of keep up.
I say we give Capcom an honorary “R” for making that game.
