Had the same problem down here. Half the tourney’s that were supposed to happen didn’t even go down.

It’ll be more popular to the casual crowd because Eddy and Christie are in it. And they don’t need no stinkin’ tournament because THEY HAVE ONLINE PLAY NOW!
For a city with an actual history with this series, I would have expected a bit more. From what I hear in Houston, many people just got the package for free since no one else showed up. The one I went just was just myself vs Tical. Wasn’t expecting much for a tournament that came at a weeks notice though.

Yeah IMO there was just no way it would be. If SFIV never came out then yeah…this would be the game that really pumped life back into fighting games if the netcode was good. Since the netcode wasn’t good and SFIV WAS released with all of its hype Tekken 6 got hurt a bit. It’ll still sell pretty well. Like it’ll definitely reach a million copies or more worldwide but there’s a lot of factors that kept it from being the true big title it could have been. Some of it is just fate (SFIV, bunch of other games coming out same day) and some of it is Bamco.
I guess mashing diagonal down for srks is easier than mashing buttons for low damage juggles.
Seriously, though…I was under the impression that Tekken 6 was more popular to the general gaming audience. Especially since it’s pad friendly.

Hmm… well, going based off of the only information I have about them so far, the only common element at both of those tournaments was YOU! Arhaharhahrah.
Most if not all Gamestop Hawaii locations listed on the website that are participating canceled their tourneys.
The Gamespot on Kapahulu, probably one of the smallest GameStop of all others, still had their tourney, and about 15 players there, I got 2nd, my brother got first.
He got 2 t-shirt(tapout and tekken6) a metal card with Lars on it, and a gay certificate.
my friend walked in, didn’t play, walked out with 1 tapout shirt, 1 tekken 6 shirt, and some other stuff
just because your store didn’t give out a tapout shirt doesn’t mean they didn’t have it
