i got to play ultimate again at comic con, not being able to block while airdashing is fucking annoying at first. i wish i could say i got use to it but im definatly am going to need more time. other than that he diddnt seem much different from when i used him at fight club. random side notes; i ask seth during the mvc3 panel why they changed air dashing and he said it was because they wanted to make zoning stronger. also phoenix wright missle assist w spidey is fucking beast. it goes full screen and hits low, so missle, web ball , web zip was an effective way to approach at least against the people i was playing against at the con

i was running spidey/hawkeye/phoenix wright. spidey / hawkeye is pretty sick, was using his otg assist to make up for spidey’s reduced dmg. i dont know how effective wright is as an achor but for the assist alone it is worth testing out. random fact i managed to punish magnetic shockwave with golden arrow, that shit is fast

I don’t know why nobody’s thinking about Storm in Ultimate. She’s gonna be real good with all these nerfs to the tops and her buffs. Deciding between her and Nova for anchoring my Ultimate team with Spidey/Hawkeye.
Probably still gonna run my old Spidey team (IM orTask and X23)and an Avengers team on the side. I want this game so I can test junk already T_T
What are her buffs? If she’s legit I can keep one of my current teams

I honestly haven’t heard anything about Storm in UMvC3…
- New Move: DP+S = Fair Wind, pushes opponent away
New Move: RDP+S = Foul Wind, pulls opponent towards her
Storm’s Winds have better distance coverage than Magneto’s (she pushes/pulls more than him) but overall slower. These moves also affect opponents when they are downed

Hailstorm covers more space on the screen making it harder for opponents to jump over it. Hailstorm can be mashed for more damage/hits
+/- Changes to her normals/jump loop combos. Seem to have better overall normals with altered jump loop combos. (?)
- Cannot call assists while floating from super jump. She can still call assists while floating if done after a normal jump
she could call assist while floating from super jump? shit I didnt know that. If her damage output was increased that would be a plus but I’d have to see what you’re talking about with the jumping loop alternates. I did know about the new move and hailstorm but those alone won’t really make her better especially if you cant use her new moves in a combo to continue it or if you can’t use it to pull in someone spamming fireballs and negate the fireball at the same time.
With pretty sizeable nerfs to top tiers, though, she becomes pretty decent in my eyes. The main knock against her was that why play her when Magneto pretty much did everything better aside from an easier DHC glitch? With damage buffs (and everyone else’s nerfs), she’s probably gonna make some decent headway. And Air XF will be great for her IMO. She’s still pretty fast and gets okay maximized damage in Vanilla (she ain’t Trish bad iirc). How bad can she be if Justin’s excited for her

Yeah I rub them both now on a team for casuals just never knew about the assist from floating. They should have left that in. Is her double typhoon faster now to allow for a decent otg to follow up from?

Is Web Ball air techable? I remember somebody mentioning that Ultimate Web Throw after Web Ball reset isn’t possible anymore because you can just forward air tech now or did they drop that nerf? Anyway, Spidey is getting some good and reasonable changes. I like it.
Well a while back it was air techable, then seth said that was an accident and claimed he would look into getting it changed back, but we haven’t heard from him ever since and despite my previous post I am starting to lose hope. Its not even about whether or not spidey is gonna be a good character in ultimate, his assist was a big part of my she-hulk gameplan and if they took that out I might have to put him on a different team.
