if :s: to TK :h: web throw only works in the corner, will Airborne’s 935,000 combo work in ultimate? I finally did it on live and it will be a shame if i can’t do it in ultimate.
Hmm, I believe the combo should still work. What makes it not work from what I’ve seen is that our launch knocks them too far away from us to allow our Web Throw to connect. However, we still have that damage nerf glaring at us now that Web Throw scales during combos, so it won’t be 900k+ anymore. =(

Web Throw doesn’t scale anymore? dang it… but should at least they did take the TK WT out completely
oh yeah i forgot about the damage being worse. it was incredibly satisfying landing it. and it was on the left side, where i find it harder to do
If you understand what the Capcom guys are trying to do in UMvC3, you’ll know that UWT resets are gone forever. They are trying to nerf the damage in the game by nerfing the character’s ability to do 20 second long combos. That’s why Taskmaster can’t relaunch with his arrows, why Magneto can’t do more than 3 Hypergrav loops, why Zero lost his D loop, etc. So this is something that’s affecting everyone in the game, not just Spiderman. The issue is that Zero, Magneto, Taskmaster all got obvioius big buffs of some kind to make up for what they have lost, it appears that they are trying to buff Spidey’s web zip and make his whole game revolve round it.But previously they nerfed the web zip greatly by making it negative on block, that I think is something that was unintended and they would fix it. But who knows if they know what they are doing…
i take what they’re doing with the game as trying to promote more combo variety. i’m speculating all these loops and the like are disappearing because there’re more moves in the game that won’t contribute to hsd than vanilla. this is still a marvel game, and it has to be outlandish and outrageous. i just think they’ve put their own spin on exactly what classifies as ‘mahvel’ gameplay by catching the essence of a character more than they already did in vanilla. i’m not too sure uwt setups are gone forever. i can already think of a few that may still work even if un-techable web ball doesn’t make it. but i have my fingers crossed.[SIZE=4] [SIZE=3]i know lots of ppl think the game is being pushed toward mixups, but i don’t agree. this is marvel…these games are about broken shit and wtf combos. the mistake they made with vanilla is that the wtf-stuff was simply too easy in terms of damage gained vs work put in. now i think the wtf-stuff will require effort all across the board (sans the big characters, lvl3xfactor, and lvl2xfactor for some). for instance, zero’s changelog vid showcases him losing some of his vanilla loops, but i can already see how the new properties on the buster shot can be incorporated for some zany (more zany than vanilla) stuff, as long as you can execute it.[/SIZE][/SIZE]
spiderman’s losing damage on random combos near the ground, but he’s getting more reliable, if smaller, damage off of airthrow, maybe UWT, maybe random web throw zoning, etc. he’s also getting more pressure with web ball xx zip. While I am personally more of a fan of silly combos that do massive damage off of one touch, Spiderman is going to fit in the paradigm of Ult mvc3.
These changes make me want to play Spider-man again. Web Zip OTG FTW. (I dropped him for Wesker). But I haven’t played in months though, so I’m missing out on a lot of stuff.

that sounds like a pretty good team. maybe you could use judgment cut assist before you web zip OTG and you might be able to continue combos after an air combo. if that doesn’t work then doom’s molecular shield could work. the DHC synergy seems pretty good with vergil’s big full screen flying sword hyper, or you could devil trigger to do a short combo and end in vergil’s awesome level 3, but you would need 5 bars to do that.
I am really digging Spidey/Hawkeye combination. It looks really good and it looks like both chars complement each other really well.
All of Hawkeye’s assist look really good for Spidey:
Triple arrows: basic all-around useful horizontal assist for approaching, combos, and keeping pressure.
Kamikaze shot: an small version of Doom’s hidden missiles and a better version of Taskmaster’s Vertical arrows. With a faster web ball in UMVC3 and cancelling specials to web zip and this assist I can already see all the possibilities we can to keep up the pressure with Spidey.
Poison arrow: screw Web Zip OTG!! Spidey’s BNB to OTG Poison arrow to MS then DHC to Super Scatter Shot (I hope this works) and while the shots are hitting jump and do a net arrow (HonzoGonzo confirmed that he can do it) into the Homing Arrow Hyper or MAYBE after the net arrow another poison arrow and then Homing Arrow.
Hawkeye being a zoning char with all his fast arrows makes Spidey’s web ball the ideal assist for him to keep the opponent on place if the web ball hits.
Web Ball --> Net Arrow --> followup is just an example
Super Scatter Shot Hyper helps Spidey to DHC after a wrong Hyper or it can be useful to use when Hawkeye is on point to raw tag to Spidey. Maybe after MS --> Super Scatter Shot he can raw tag to Spidey again and follow up with another MS or a web throw (I think that I am going crazy with this followups so take them with a huge grain of salt)
So many things right now going through my mind with these guys that I just can’t wait for November!! The only thing I need now is that P. Wright gets a good assist (and be broken) and all my dreams will come true.
Does anyone think a team with Spider-Man/Strider/Ryu could be good? i was thinking the DHC synergy would be good with spidey and strider. It probably wouldnt do that much damage in a combo, but it would get spider-man out when he needs to heal some red life. Are any of strider’s assists good for Spider-Man?
Well, without having played Ultimate I’ll just say that I don’t think that sounds like a good team. Strider seems like a guy who needs to be on point, which conflicts with Spidey.

I wouldn’t rely on assists with such a low life character such as Strider. Even Phoenix has good assists, but she’s not somebody that will save spidey from trouble
I also like that they have matching ironman-esque costumes. But yeah it’s a duo I want to try out.
I have a feeling that I am gonna be ending combos in crawler assault in ultimate instead of maximum spider. the damage that CA does when you mash will probably be good, looking at the other mashable hypers. Also the web throws put them a lot closer, making the CA easy to land.
I still want them to add super jump cancels to the game spider would definitely shock people with what he could do
